You get so much more out of letters than you ever could have from an email or a text or even a voice-mail. Most people wouldn't understand that in this era
Rhodes is so underrated. He really keeps Tony grounded.

It's going to be interesting to see the Relationship between Rhodes and peter, hopefully when time comes they can make sure to keep peter in teh MCU because i feel like war machine and spidermans joint connection to tony stark is an under utilized idea

No, they were no longer Avengers. They were straight-up criminals. The only "Avengers" left were Vision and Rhodey. Hulk and Thor were doing their own thing, and I'm not sure if they would have gone along with the Accords (I know at least Bruce won't, since he knows Thunderbolt Ross's untrustiness way too well). Bruce would probably just be a fugitive again, and Thor probably wouldn't take either sides (no way he would obey the government's orders, but he wouldn't have the heart to go against his former friends).
Cap took the Secret Avengers with him, Tony had no one left but War Machine
This ending was heartwarming to me. I can understand Tony's point of view and Steve's point of view at the same time.
Better than in the comics, where by the end it was Captain America good Iron Man bad
@@jamiemiller1482 Yeah i actually liked this take. I absolutely would have taken caps side but could totally see where Tony was coming from and certainly didn't blame him. Makes the fight that much more compelling.
Thats why I loved this movie. The ending really seals in the fact that no matter who you rooted for in the end it was all about helping eachother see the real threat was Liberty vs Security and finding the right balance between them. Which Tony understood at the end after reading caps letter.

Tony was just trying to get Natasha too be his friend again as she was very pissed at him for how Clint and others were treated that is why he pretended not to know that Steve was going too break them out. Of course as always with Tony it takes pretty much all his former friends telling him what a ass hole he is before he realises that is wrong.

It's the same in every iteration of ross. All he wants is power. Doesn't matter to him how he gets it, so long as he gets it.
All the crap Ross used to justify the accords were events that would've been much worse were it not for the intervention of the Avengers... aside from Ultron which was totally on Stark. The Avengers didn't needs reigned in, Stark did.

The Anti-accords faction was Steve’s “Army” of sorts, so Sam knew Steve would feel obligated to free them, as payback for siding with him. They followed HIM, so Steve viewed them being arrested as HIS responsibility. On top of the obvious: Steve being “old school” and awesome 😎

I'm not sure if Sam's pacing meant he was expecting Steve at any moment, but I doubt he was surprised to see him either. I imagine him saying something like, "Took you long enough" or "It's about time..." :)
Gotta give some credit to Tony also and this is coming from a "Cap guy". Tony was still VERY PISSED at this moment and knew exactly what that breach was. He probably had the ability to shut it down, but he let it go because even though he's still for the Sokovia Accords, he doesn't want his friends and former allies locked up

I may be missing out on the rest, but isn't Zemo the only villain in MCU who actually succeeded in what he set out to do? (Technically so did Thanos, but it was reversed later on)
I’m guessing we can say that what Zemo did was also reversed as the team reunited to stop Thanos. Ultron did succeed in destroying the avengers, as the events of that film led to the events of civil war. I guess most villains in the MCU accomplish what they hope to do, the real question is how long their success lasts.

Which is why I think it was a missed opportunity that Marvel didn't use her to introduce the X-Men in the MCu. In her pursuit to find peace after all she went through, she meets Professor X who helps her deal with all the trauma she experienced and also trains her to use her abilities better. In the X-Men, she finds a place where she can no longer be afraid of who she is.

Seeing Wanda like that was always heartbreaking for me. She has lost everything since she was young. Her parents died and then her and her brother were locked up and experimented on as kids. She got free and sided with an awful robot that killed her twin brother. She went against the man who created and profited off bombs that killed her family to support her mentor and was locked in jail with a shock collar and straight jacket. She fell in love and he died. Her mentors Cap and Hawkeye in some ways abandoned her and she is still beautiful young. Her character was 17 or 18 in the first movie. This stuff has only occurred over maybe a two or three year period. In the comics, Wanda looses so much more and it gets so much worse, im just hoping that it doesn't end up that way.
Edit: just a disclaimer. In terms of Wanda and Pietro's ages i was going off of the information I found online and the comics. Also, I would like to say I wrote this 2 weeks ago before the recent wandavision episodes had established more on her situation. None of this justifies her actions. I'm just saying that when the avengers was kind of disbanded at the end of Endgame, she had no one and no where to go. She never had anyone to properly raise her or help her understand grief. She has been through a lot and she is still very young. Yes, all of the heroes have been through hell, that's the point. I just think she has had it worse because she is so young in comparison and she doesn't have anyone else outside of the team. Her country was destroyed. Her entire family is dead and she doesn't have anywhere else to go. But that is also my opinion. So, im okay with debating, just please don't attack me or anyone else in the comments that disagrees with you.

She has lost pretty much everyone and everything. The comics get really dark, so if this follows the comics. Then, Wandavision will be really dark.

I love Zemo's very brief response. His plan went over their heads, so much that they didn't realize that he accomplished exactly what he set out to do.
I mean yeah but also not really; the Avengers were able to pull it together when they had to. His plan worked for like 5 minutes, figuratively speaking.
@@johnroscoe2406 gonna have to disagree there. If you look at the timeline, the Avengers was disbanded for years. Their absence was noted and felt in Black Widow. And they didn't even come back together when it really counted in Infinity War: they were groups of splintered factions that were unable to unite and stop Thanos. They didn't really reassemble as a whole until Endgame, and the movies imply that they lost in Infinity War specifically because they weren't unified and tried to fight him in separate groups on multiple fronts. There's a good chance that the Blip never would have occurred if Zemo hadn't sundered the Avengers. All in all, I count that as a success for Zemo.

Avengers 2: They had tension over Tony creating ultron but eventually fighting together to win. In endgame, Cao and Tony buried their hatchet and everyone became one to fight Thanos and they won. But in IW, although they were fighting for the same cause, they were NOT together and they lost

Hiccup Hufflepuff nope the delivery guy(Stan Lee) misread it. Steve probably wrote “Stark” but it was a sloppy R which made it look like an N. Steve wouldn’t deliberately misspell it especially when him and tony already have a poor relationship at this point in time

Even in 2023, Civil War is still my #1 MCU movie. Infinity War almost beat it but the rivalry between these 2 leaders i found it more sad and emotional than Thanos (best MCU villain)
Still one of the best if not the best movies from start to finish in the MCU. And the bad guy even won to a large extent.
To be fair, the Sokovia Accords helped the division of the Avengers along so it's not like Zemo needed that much help. Especially since he'd likely already heard about the Accords in the news. So really, it's the government's fault for giving Thanos the W he needed.
The government really always are on the villains' side, aren't they? And I expected the UN to be the exception to this, but, hey, ya never know who in government you *can* trust anymore...

Now her power can upgrade into warping reality, who would have blame her to create a sitcom reality where she is happy with a husband and twins. With friends to go shop with like Agnes. No world problems to fight on. I don't blame her for reaching that point. MCU addressing depression that can reach as far as that. Even powerful superheroes has a vulnerability within. I think it's a brilliant decision to incorporate in the MCU.
I think they are going to show a flashback of Wanda after the funeral. When Monica Rambau is talking about her experience under Wanda’s control, she describes an underwhelming feeling of hopelessness, grief.
Then there’s a one second clip or flash of Wanda crying that’s never been shown before, but it looks like it’s after the funeral. I’m sure there will be flashbacks.

I love how Steve worked things out with Tony before endgame not knowing that Tony would died in endgame and knowing that he never got to say sorry, and Steve understands Tony's pain and heartbreak plus the fact he apologized to tony for hiding the truth from him, because Steve felt he would have made things worse by revealing Bucky killed Tony's parents, the fact these two iconic superheroes manage to put things behind them and show remorse and regret is just class 💯🙏.

Woah. I forgot just how powerful a performance Don Cheadle put in here. 'Yeah, uh... this sucks, this is a bad beat' might be one of the most real moments in the entire MCU. He puts so much into that line
His conversation with Nebula is an echo of that, but from a stronger place.
i'm glad someone mentioned it, its such a realistic human reaction to it, just a 'this sucks', because yeah thats the real response to something you can't put words to. Its so much better than if they over-wrote that, this was perfect and it almost felt like i was watching a performance from a movie about a real recovery.

I think this scene was one of my favorites. I love it when people take something bad and turn it into something good, or make up after a bad situation. Tony not responding to the call he got from Secretary Ross was perfect for those reasons--it signified he's still siding with Steve after all this time.
