I don't think people fully grasp the fact that Tony just saw his Dad get beaten to death and his mom strangled to death. All those years of pain and anger and remorse and now he knows the very person that was responsible for all this pain is standing right next to him. You aren't going to be reasonable. You aren't going to listen, it's going to be pure rage and he has someone to take it all out on. You aren't going to want to listen. Vengeance will consume you.
Plus, Tony just learned for the first time that the accident wasn't an accident.
Lol stop defending him. Tony wanted the avengers to be controlled because they were "dangerous" right? Well you kinda proved how much of a hypocrite and dangerous HE is. Tony created ultron and after years of therapy and living the dream, he wanted to KILL another human being without question. He was going to straight up murder another human being without hearing his reasoning or trying to understand the situation because he got emotional. A true hero would put others in front of himself. Tony is really the only thing that's dangerous about the avengers. Take him out and the avengers are perfect.

I'm just talking about him having any semblance of psychology whatsoever. What does Bucky think should happen to him? What does Bucky want now? Does Bucky feel any sort of way about killing Tony's parents?
We don't really know these things because as is in the movie, Bucky is essentially just a plot device to move the story along, and investment in his character is solely by extension of Steve
he should've actually talked it out even if it means we miss out on that final battle

I get it. Actually we do kind of get that acknowledgement from Bucky in the jet on the way to Siberia that even though he was mind controlled/tortured he still did those things. Its kind of frustrating really, as its not, like the characters in this universe don't understand mind control or what a person subject to mind control can do. Remember when Clint was being controlled by Loki?
The way I figure the apology thing is that either Bucky knew it wouldn't make a difference as Tony was pretty hellbent on revenge anyway or his capacity for emotions including remorse was still very limited from the brain damage which years of zapping people's brain's with elecricity would tend to cause. The other thing is that Bucky only seems to kind of acknowledge things he did when he's reminded or asked which makes me suspect he did not remember a lot of his missions (his mind was wiped after each one...) and might have been just saying what was expected. "Ready to comply" if you will.

Isobel Higgs Sure enough but he doesn't even seem sorry or remorseful in the slightest. It's not shown in the movie so we're not sure if he even feels bad for Stark at all. It is unfortunate he became an unconscious vessel for Hydra's actions but he is still implicated in them. The blood kinda is on his hands as well.
Tho in Stark's eyes, Captain America is more guilty because Cap knew and remained silent about it the whole time. Instead of going for reconciliation and coming clean Cap prevents Bucky from meeting the ends of justice all because they're old friends.
It does admittedly make the movie a little more interesting because thematically that ties back into their views on the registration act. Tony has a little more integrity than you may have initially given him credit for because he's all for answering for any atrocities left in your wake, intentional or not and Steve is not as true blue as you might think because despite committing himself to being a just moral beacon, he's still an emotional, sentimental human being who'll put his close friends above the law.
Tho only if they did more to show us how Tony Stark and Steve Rogers individually perceive the act instead of outright telling us which sides they picked from the get go.

This is the ending I wanted to civil war. The ACLU takes the US government to court for violating the constitution in bypassing the senate in signing a treaty that is highly unconstitutional and violates the civil liberties of American citizens. The US government loses, mostly because it's clear cut what they did. That and how did so many governments, especially ones that respect human rights, sign a treaty that is basically lose any privacy or get locked up for trial, even if you only want to live a peaceful life and never plan to use your powers?
Civil war is basically a bunch of people getting arrested because they stood up for their rights to things such as a trial as a US citizen, all because Stark and the Hulk had a god complex and made an AI.
Oh, and Tony Stark apparently got off Scott free for something that I'm pretty sure classifies as recruiting and using child soldier. I.e. Spider-man.

My absolute favorite scene in Hishe. They have such a good point.
except the reason Tony made Ultron was because Wanda messed with his head. And the reason the UN demanded the accords was 1) Hulk destroyed that city in Nigeria (Wanda messed with his head), 2) Ultron destroyed Sokovia (Tony made Ultron because Wanda messed with his head) and 3) Wanda had a slip of wrist and destroyed half a hospital in Laos.
Then Tony was keeping Wanda put in his compound, but Steve got mad and sent Clint to call Wanda so they could all together break Steve's friend out of prison.
Honestly, I'm with my man here ^^^ and is no one pointing out Natasha, the Russian assassin that's killed how many people? I mean she's not protected by S.H.I.E.L.D anymore especially since it was discovered to have been insanely corrupt (sure she helped take it down...on an entire city but how many actually know that outside of the Avengers and would Ross really look past that?)

I actually do think that Civil War would have been a stronger film if Rhodes had died, or at least been permanently crippled. And if Cap's team hadn't immediately been sprung from prison at the end. Having little to no real lasting consequences for anyone cheapened the entire conflict. The problem, I think, is that they wanted to do a really dark subject (friends turned against one another in a civil war) and treat it like just another lighthearted Marvel film, and it didn't work. Though I suppose you could say the lasting consequences caught up to them in Infinity War, when the team being divided helped Thanos win.
Captain Phoenix well Rhodes did got Permanently Crippled. In Endgame he could not walk without the support of the suit!

If you start killing off now, imagine during Infinity War where you're used to death by then. Why kill someone off now when you can have Thanos kill them off and increase the emotion and stakes?
