@Rasmus Lennartz-Johansen Hiya mate, Always happy to help a fellow SV rider out, if you have a second gen SV and you want to keep the lower part of the fairing on? You need to buy crash sliders that have mounting brackets that affix inside the fairing. Basically they are just big spacers that bolt through the 2 engine mounting bolts. The crash slider then fits through the hole in the fairing and screws directly into the spacer. You need the spacer as the holes in the lower fairing don’t line up with any securing parts of the frame. The only place I know that sells the whole mounting kit & slider is R&G. that’s what I have on mine. If you decide to ride without the lower fairing on, then sliders without the mounting brackets can be used, they will bolt straight on, most use just 1 of the engine mounting bolts, (the bolt is usually supplied with the sliders.) Please take my advice & do yourself a favor, always use sliders that are made of Delrin, it’s a material designed to wear & not dig in & flip the bike in the event that you have a slide. You can buy a set of FleeBay for around 15-20 pounds. Hope this helps, Cheers & happy motoring
well the last post i saw where the guy asked how the dampner was fit was not answered. if you have a 180 tire mounted on the stock sv rear wheel then your bike will not handle right. the wheel is meant for a 160 series tire. most people mount a gsxr rear wheel in order to mount a 180 series tire without having the tire squeezed on a 5 inch wheel. but then again what do i know.
Hello guys I wanted to ask someone if they own a Suzuki SV650 and if it is a good bike for slow speed maneuvers like U turns, slaloms and figure of 8 riding because I am thinking of getting one and going to use it for my A2 test (With Restriction) and then A licence test I am asking this because in the UK part of the test is slow speed control and maneuvers like U turns, slaloms and figure of 8 riding on like a big parking lot.
I just bought the 2003 model in the same colour, looks near identical. great ride
Just sold my 05 sv650. Loved the bike. upgrades to a zx6r. I am now spoiled from a decade leap in bike tech lol
Shift-Light In hindsight would you just have went for a ZX6R right away?
Simon Steffensen
I was going for a r6 at first, for awhile and I started looking at the zx636 and I was sold.
Shift-Light Both are still great bikes
hey mate on your rear tyre you said 180? on stock rear wheel?
Nice ride man.
Love the SV and you have some really nice modifications!
oh i see you already sold it, what you riding now?
2002 Triumph Speed Triple 955i...been wanting on upgrading to something else next year.
also might want to take a look at the tires on that bike. if you have a 140 front and a 180 rear your doing the bike a handling in-justice.
Nice bike ...
How do you like the lower faring? How do the short levers work out in a tip over? Great bike well sorted. Thank you
sexy bike, this looks much better then a bandit 600
Thanks man!! I'm not too sure about that man. The pervious owner did tons of work to this bike and I'm not sure how he put the damper on there.
Whats you thoughts on 180 rear on stock rims
hey man where’d you get those front signals?
Nice bike. Does the steering demper fit just plug n play?
Ok. Well i have an 09 with gsxr front end and rear shock. I was out at hutchinson last weekend. Maybe one of these days we can ride.
Hey, nice bike. Can i ask how you put on the crash pads on the lower fairing?
@Rasmus Lennartz-Johansen

Can you post a video how it is mounted?

Yes it is
I wanna learn how to ride one
Would you add a slipper clutch to your future mod list for this bike?
Unfortunately I do not own the bike anymore. But for how low powered it was, I wouldn't consider it.
Thanks man!
I swear this looks exactly like my sv650 that I just bought from guy in Virginia.
I wish I still had it...underpowered, but I loved the sound.
Sorry man, too busy right now. Maybe in the future.
excouse me i just bought suzuki sv650s 2014 and where i can buy lower fairings???
I know how the damper is mounted and the rear wheel is not a gsxr wheel, it the oem wheel.
How's the fuel consumption?
I think I got around 35 to 45 mpg. Not really sure anymore since it's been several years since I owned it.
A 140 front tire !? 🤔
Sure...sign up at SSB.com and we can coordinate something.
it''s actually a 160 60 17
160
These are fuel injected right?
Yeah, I think those with the black frame are.
