Frame sliders are popular on track'd SV's. I've yet to see one have it's frame ruined from sliders. I've seen MANY that have had various parts and bodywork saved by sliders. They also help prevent the full weight of the bike from coming down and pinning your leg against the tarmac.
@2002RM thought bout it and have had moments. even went down. just fiberglassed it, painted it, rode it.. the ones they offer for the sv650 go through the frame and engine. to me that sounds like a bent frame or tweaked engine mount. ill stick wit bumps and bruises, it adds character.
@zerothrough2hero light scuff should be fine.mine was completly grey stock so same color as primer.. i figured. just got ridd of the clear coat really.
stock 160 was running dunlop q2 recently and recently switched back to bridgstone bt-003 . the bt003 seem to warm up easier and i find(on track) they are more stable.
@DontTreadOnMe894 Thanks DTOM. First bike painted, but i did my 72 ranchero when i was 17 so i remember the basics. jus stay smooth while painting n itl b fine. remember to rest between coats or it will run. nice vids too, just got my hands a little plinker myself, cheers@!
@805pApErBOi Agreed, it looks better without sliders.Whats on offer? I have R&G's costing about $120. Yes, engine mounted but it does the opposite to what you think. It reduces engine/frame damage due to taking the force of the impact if the bike goes down. If you're a careful urban or occasional rider then your chances of a big down are less (although I still say get some) but if you have any desire to get it on a track this could be the cheapest investment you make on your bike. Happy riding!
@FmanFORPS3 thx. prolli just the angle. it doesnt even have clear coat. kept it as simple as possible, favorite part bout my sv. is its mine, n never seen one like it. also foolin other sv riders on what it is.. lol keep gettin guesses of yzf, or cbr.. lol
Nice looking SV man, definitely one of the best Ive seen. Good job. Any idea if that tail light with the integrated blinkers is popular enough for a dealer to know about it and where to get it from?
Blloody nice job mate! You painted the faring yourself you said? How was that done? How much do you think you have spent on modifications? Looks so good!
I want to paint my SV with my dad, did you do it yourself or did you and your dad pick the color and get it professionally done? Just asking because it looks really good.
Dude you need crash protectors. You've worked so hard on the paint, it would be a shame for it to go to waste with a drop (and believe me you will have a "moment" eventually).
you hear the noise when u turn the key before the engine turn's over ? wait for it to stop then turn over the engine. rookie mistake fuel injector will go out of time and most likely runen parts of the engine and most defiantly will distory ur fuel injector part just fault id point it out but nice ride and nice paint work and the screen looks all-sum

This bike is badass bro. Altough I like how it looks as a street fighter but that doesn't mean I dislike this version.
best looking sv ive seen! how did you go about painting it?
cheers
On the SV Rider forum, most people recommend using Motosliders for this bike and have given it great reviews, should check it out.
Purrrrs so nice!!
Lookin really clean. Where did you get the tail lights with integrated turn signals?
Damn that bike is sick
