  • I will be melting pure silver 10 troy ounce bullion bars into little human skulls. To start, I designed/sculpted a simple human skull ingot using Blender. The skulls are designed without any overhangs to allow them to be removed from sand without breaking any away. I printed 10 skulls on my Elegoo Saturn resin 3d printer. Using petrobond I created a a simple open mold and then poured in molten silver. The skulls weigh roughly 2.5 troy ounces each.

    Wow that 3D printer is sick! I wonder if there is one able to print casting wax directly? At home we are using the lost wax method of casting items of hand carved wax, and pouring individual gestobalite molds. I have been interested in vacuum molding, to make more items to set up, but this sand casting you're doing is extremely inspiring! Great stuff

    • @larrybud
      @larrybud Год назад

      Resin printing works by exposing the liquid resin to UX, which hardens it. There's no way to do that with wax.
