Thanks for the comment. Did you by any chance miss yesterday's Jeep Patriot review or did you just jump the gun on this comment.
Awesome, getting one soon.
Thank you for your reply. I too have looked up the numbers but I was looking for Roma's first hand experience.
I love the JK, especially with the Pentastar and will be looking to get one sometime soon, but the point of a Range Rover is not to be the ultimate offroad at all costs. They make the Defender which is a lot closer to that mission. It still has to be nice to drive on the highway and around town, which the RRS is. The JK is A LOT better than older Jeeps. Not to mention it has 510 hp and has a top speed about twice that of a TJ in perfect comfort. Point is: two completely different missions.
I'm still stuck on the Land Rover Series video, which was great!
If you get a chance I think it would be great to test these off road suv's in Ouray Colorado on poughkeepsie gulch trail. Maybe one or two times a year it's kinda far but would be worth the trip...
Roman, I look at it like this. When you take your LR product off the highway it becomes a tool. Tools are designed and meant to be used. Scratches can be repainted and skid plates can be replaced. To me, Land Rover is a "Lifestyle" vehicle. Others use it as a status symbol. I don't mind that. It allows a guy like me to buy a 2-3 year old Range Rover that's hardly seen a gravel road at a HUGE discount. In the garage we have a '73 SERIES III, '86 DEFENDER 110 TDi, '09 LR3, and a '10 Range Rover.
C. M. H. I agree, even Newer ones, my wife’s Range Rover velar first edition is often used to tow horse boxes, trailers. I even used it the other day to tow a 28ft combine header across 150acres of wet boggy fields
i really like this 2014 edition
@8:54-8:56 are those the headlight or the drl led daytime lighys making that clean cut off if it is the leds imagine the projectors
Nothing and I mean nothing will beat a RR straight out of the showroom off road.
LR have also sold 2WD Freelanders (in reponse to the guide's Jeep comment).
I also have a range rover supercharged it's the best in the world
land rover also makes the freelander (lr2) and evoque as 2wd (at least for europe)
I just hope and wish it is a commercial success. Land Rover and Jaguar has the right products now, not sure how long it can sustain with such low numbers.
The instructor said land rover do not do two wheel drive vehicles but they have them in Europe for the Freelander (LR2).
is this a course near SF? I want to do this course
You say "people who buy there aren't going to do this", but you're absolutely wrong. Every dealership does safari trips locally and there are a ton of people who do this. I've had a dozen Range Rovers and mine are always in dirt, mud and snow.
You've had *12* range rovers?!? That's a really terrible track record. I've had two 4Runners... because they last. Why are you burning through vehicles so quickly? Also, you must understand that the vast, vast majority of buyers would never take their vehicles offroad.
Tax write offs. I buy 2 a year and rotate them. Because the Range Rovers GVW is so high, you can write off 38K, instead of the 7,500. And you're wrong, most of us do take them off road. The dealerships do their safari's 2 or 3 times a year and they have 100's of people these vehicles that show up. You just don't realize we do beat the shit out of them for fun.
Roman, how does the Jeep Grand Cherokee Diesel compare with the RR Sport?
Was off road course at the Quail Lodge?
Just a testimony to the electronics - the tires really don't seem offroad stuff at all!
That range Rover could have been the best narrator, to ever narrate. Ever.
Where in sf is this trail??
Yep and the old JK with the 3.8 had only 202hp. So 285 is a lot better, but still nothing compared to the 510ho in the RRS (which is part of why it is $90k).. If you need more powah, get the Ripp Supercharger which will give something like 100hp more. Or trade for a V8 Grand Cherokee.
Didn't notice the dude in the backseat till 3:26
Hmmm Jeep Rubicon and FJ Cruiser might :)
I should have been more clear. I was referring to off road performance.
I know what you mean, it's hard to capture just how steep a hill is... From doing downhill skiing a lot and looking at footage of place I'd been, or going places I'd seen, video never does justice to terrain.
2014 Dodge Durango please!! You guys said you wanted to be the first to review it :/
I've got a 16 year old, 4 cylinder Wrangler that will beat this thing everywhere off-road. It cost a hell of a lot less, too.
You spend 2 mins asking the land rover guy a question then you cut him off when he answers. Booo.
plus the mighty Nissan patrol LE with its monster v8 5.7 400 hp engine
Good job he cut the instructor out the last part
I'll believe the fording claims when I see it done.
what mode would you put the car in in this environment? (if there was not an auto mode)
graham dunk mud ruts
Evoque comes in 2wd
My friends mom just got this. It's a downgrade in size from her Chevy suv. She's a nice lady.
Nothing is better then a ranger rover off-road straight out the showroom dead stock.
Yeah, I agree, but in terms of capability, nothing can compares to the Land Rover Defender
This car is smarter than me
Im my denali can do thats but its the z71 package so I can do a lot
It seems like u guys stopped doing actual reviews.
Look up Ford Crown Victoria hill climbing. This guy in Utah is crazy cool with a '97 (or so)
Crown Victoria.
Never review a Range Rover cause you so judgmental that the car is evolving
While I understand that its not possible to do new content every day it does seem like these types of videos with the manufacturer reps in them amount to little more than a long car commercial. It sucks because you guys are very good in your independent reviews but these infomercials are of little value in my opinion. Still love the channel though!
Roman looked very annoyed with the land rover guy lol
Lol my 02 silverado has auto 4wd rangerover isnt as up to date as i thought
Great car. The exhausts are pony, buy i think RR are afraid of the green brigade.
Range Rover builds the Freelander 2wd and the Evoque 2wd...
To be honest, I feel like this is too much like the evoque.
"Jeep, stop making those 2WD vehicles" LOL! Wrangler Rubicon was the best thing they ever did for the brand. Patriot and Compass were the worst.
ARE,THOSE SCRATCHES? 8:04-8:06?!??!! :(
Lots of cool doo-dads...too bad they break all the time...
Lexus GX460 still wins
except no one ever takes these off-road. Shame
16 wrangler fans disliked this video
just think what a 2012+ JK would do against this LOL
JK has 285hp.... I'm selling mine
@mumppetnumpty65 Mercedes g wagon
But just not as high tec
I really would love to see the interior of the car and how would it do on road also and 0-60 time ... Do your good stuff guys rather this boring video !!
so much evoque from exterior..didnt like.
Que hueva el wey de Land Rover...
Did he say "drug instructor"
None
Meh...
Worst exhausts tips I have ever seen!!!!
Toyota land cruiser is more capable but shit ugly
