People are missing the point with the Range Rover.You dont buy them to go offroad on a regular basis but its just knowing you can do it in one of the worlds best 4x4's.Its an everyday vehicle that does most thing very well.People are saying why spend all that money to take it off road very rarely?why buy a supercar that does 200mph? when especially in the USA you have no chance of reaching those speeds legally or safely unless you are on a track and how many owners do track days ?? very few .

This is the best looking SUV so far, inside and out, no suv would beat this car by designs. It is just great car for in city and off-road. I think Jaguar CX17 would be better looking suv if they keep the concept designs. By the way, who needs V8? V6 is enough.

The last part I agree with Roman.
I know this Range Rover Sport will dust any German luxury SUV off-road and give Wranglers and Grand Cherokees a good tussle, but the biggest issue is the taking this 'designer suit' to 'rock climbing' feeling about Range Rovers.

This is the SPORT version. If you want a dedicated off-roader get the LR4. You can get into them for $50K or so. Also, Range Rover aren't stupid. It doesn't really matter if Roman thinks they are too expensive to off-road. The people that buy them will do whatever they want with them. They are tanks therefore safer to haul kids around in as well.A Subaru BRZ won't win any races or horsepower battles but people will still race them.Not a true track car but people will drive them to the track.
Gary appears to be the happiest of campers.
I think Rang Rover should still bring over their turbo diesels, for the sport and regular range rover which is available in europe.

FretFreak02 so you are okay if a 5k lbs SUV has only 200 hp, 200 hp is enough to move 5k lbs, it'll do 0 to 60 on like 16 s, towing may be 2500 lbs and won't go over 60 mph up hill when is empty
crazy wheel Guess the Mercedes GLK250 is running on magic then. Cause it weights 4,500lbs has 200hp does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds and tows 4,500 pounds. Did I also mention it gets 33mpg on the highway? Or course, its diesel but still.
Similar situation for the diesel Jeep grand cherokee a 5600lbs suv with 240hp and gets 30mpg and can tow 7,200 lbs.
Horsepower doesn't mean much when it comes to suv's and trucks. Its all about the torque. You don't need a gas guzzling piece of shit suburban to tow and get decent mileage.

We get the Diesel in UK, much better mpg lots of torque, same interior. You we talking about old fashioned manual lock up controls. Great for a person that goes off road a lot, but they make them for a 100 pound footballer's wife that knows nothing about going off road. She doesn't want that, She just doesn't want to get stuck when it snows in the grocery store parking lot or on the way back from picking up the kids.

It's all about status and to alot of people in this world that's more important than a piece of bread.
When I first saw this car in the dealership I thought it was an Evoque which is why it won't sell well, it needs to be more individual. When Richard Hammond reviewed the car on Top Gear he made it sound as if the old Sport could'nt go off road because it was based on the Disco...which they took up a scottish mountain..go figure.. the supercharged sounds great but economy means only diesel is sensible for the UK.
As for offroad an old LR 90 is far better...and cheaper to fix.

the RR Sport is my favorite vehicle of all time. i have ah bias towards it...... but i hate the new body styling!!! i prefer the 2010 or 2012 model body styling. i dont mind the performance upgrade.

90k is a lot of money but I think is worth, NISSAN and LEXUS make SUV for the same price and I don't think they are as good
crazy wheel Try paying $156k in Australia for the same car. Then value becomes questionable.
A lady I know has a range rover but is the most expensive one and I think is the autobiography short wheel base or something like that and she paid over 140k usa dollars

Yeah, I prefer the 2012 styling, not only for the sport, but for the regular Range Rover as well. it looks too much like the evoque. it no longer has the gentlemanly styling of all previous models. the new model is like the village idiot in a family of geniuses.
