What was the finale angle that you set the spring plate? I assume it was something less than 20 degrees. That would be the angle that you said wasn't low enough for you.
50 year old rubber brake lines are probably going to be cracked and nasty. Other than making for a spongy brake pedal they either work or they don't. When they don't is will become immediately apparent and pushing down on the brake pedal harder would be a futile gesture. At that point your steering wheel becomes your friend. Your will also find brake fluid dripping onto the ground.
I just did this yesterday on my 71....what a major PITA... I've been thinking about upgrading to the elephant racing 935 spring plate kit. Has anyone here went that route on an early car? Opinions?
You saved yourself a huge headache just grabbing new spring-plates. Seriously. I'm glad I can say I did that job but never again.
And they’re gold!
Great to see how you did this. Working on removing my rear torsion bars for the first time. Thanks for making the videos
Thanks for watching! Good luck pulling your bars!
Nice work there. Heat is my friend too😃
You deserve way way more subs. Keep at it!
Thanks!
Useful video, Thanks!
What kind of wrench did you use to remove the caliper?
Another cool vid! It would've been great though if you'd have covered how to reindex the spring plate and torsion bar when they're out.
Thanks, that’s coming in pt2!

Nice pair of videos Benny - thanks for posting. Curious, which Milwaukee impact ratchet did you purchase? Started looking for one myself.
Thanks! I have the m12 1/2" ratchet. milwaukeetool.com/Products/Power-Tools/Fastening/Ratchets/2558-20

first thing I replaced on the car, and they probably should have been done 10 years before then

Probably overkill if you aren’t racing or driving the wheels off it
fuck me, did all this today, finally got it out and "moved it" took awhile and the car was maybe 1/4 inch lower! I suck at everything I do.
Did you purposely make the video 9:59 because your working on a Porsche 911 and Porsche made a model of 911 the 959
yes
