BISSELL Revolution HydroSteam Pet Carpet Cleaner, 3432
BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Plus, 3588F, Upright Deep Cleaner
The most disadvantage of the Hydrsoteam: there is NO steam with the hand part with hose! I didn't know this before I bought it and I think it's an absolute disgrace!
One huge difference is that the steam version lifts the brushhead when it is fully upright so when you use the hose attachment the brush rolls aren't spinning in the same spot on the carpet for the entire time
Good to know as I didn’t know that. I ordered the hydro steam today for Black Friday but last week I bought the turbo revolution 2x but I’m going to return it.
@E85_STI i had the pet proheat 2x revolution and it worked really well as an upright, the hose experience "worked' but it could be detrimental to the carpet where the brushroll just spun and spun so this is a welcome change.
The Hydrostream cleaner looks so good. More of a classy look. I almost ordered one but I found a new Pet Pro 1986 model locally for $125. Maybe I’ll get the Hydrostream in a few years. Anyway I appreciate the comparison videos. Very informative and fun to watch.
Also, did you notice a difference in terms of sound? Is there one that’s more quiet?
The Pet Pro works better though and is cheaper
The second I saw you pushing that steam vacuum it absurdly slow right I immediately decided I wouldn’t buy it.
Is the Hydrosteam a lot louder than the Preheat Pet Pro since it as a bigger motor?
Can the Bissell Revolution Hydrosteam be used like a wet mop vacuum on hardwood/tile floors? I’m in need of a new wet vac and carpet cleaner and the steam feature seems like it could serve both purposes. Thanks!
So, after watching Vacuum Wars’ reviews, we bought the ProHeat 2X Revolution. Mom broke it. So then we bought the Hoover PowerScrub XL, which at the time was an all-new model (year or so ago). Two things I noticed immediately. The Hoover extracted significantly more fluid than the Bissell, and it did not have the shrill ear-piercing pitch the ProHeat et al had. I had to tilt the rear of the Bissell up to force the front nozzle down into the carpet to get it to extract all of the solution. Since the Hoover’s dirty tank sits directly on the head, it naturally pushes the nozzle down into the carpet. I think that is why the Hoover pulls out so much more solution. However, it does not steam the carpet. It relies solely on detergent to clean, which isn’t an issue most of the time. Having true steam surely makes the Bissell remove more crud than other units, but it still leaves excessive moisture in our carpet.
As someone who has owned 2 PowerScrub XL (which both failed), I am looking now at the ProHeat as well. Be aware that the PowerScrub is a solid machine, eventually one of the pumps will fail (maybe 2-3yrs later in my experience).
You should test which one sucks out the most water after putting the same amount of water in each lol
Hi! I can run that test and will do it for you on our next one. You will find using both of them that carpet type, water temp, how much solution and which solution you use is more important getting stains out.
I second this test! 🙋🏻♀️
I know that not using distilled water in floor steamers can be really problematic. With the addition of steam, is there any concern about not using distilled water in the machine?
hi! I have not used distilled water on my unit but if you have very hard water, I can see the potential for having to occasionally descale your unit. The Bissell does not require distilled water so it should be covered by warranty if any issues within the warranty period from using tap or filtered water. You can go through a tank very quickly on steam max clean so it would less economical as well.
Bissell must've paid him to praise the Steamer lmao the Pet Pro is cheaper and does the same thing. The Steamer just looks nice but that's it
Excellent review! I think the audio isn't normalized though. Very quiet and I had to turn up my phone and PC.
can both also be used for mattresses and sofas?
Thx😊
Hi! Yes the hand attachment will work for both.
Steamer just looks better but that's it
Which one is best for what we all need this for: DOG PEE? I am now thinking that because the steam cleaner version gets deeper into the fibers than the other and from other reviews seems to suction better, the steam cleaner is the way to go. Am I correct? I’m looking to buy this in the near future. Also any recommendations for a good solution that leaves a nice smell. I’ve used several enzyme ones mixed with the febreeze bissell solution, but any recommendations for something better would be greatly appreciated. The enzyme brands I’ve used have been the minty one from Amazon and also the nature’s miracle. Anyone know a good solution kind that works in the tank and not a spot treater spray kind? I’ve got an older female dog who is trying to win best in show for destroyer of carpets. 😂
Hi! Steam will help clean the fibers deeper and more effectively. In your case, if I had to pick one, if the revolution hydrosteam is within $50 - $75 of the proheat model, I would opt for the hydrosteam. The hydrosteam also dries faster in my testing.
I am so glad you asked this question. It is exactly what I want to know..😊
@@TheFrenchGlowThank you. I had the same exact question.
Also can u adjust the height of machine for different rug pile heights
Hi! Sadly you cannot but I never found it to be an issue with any of my carpets from super high pile rug in my living room (2 inch pile) or my 75oz high pile white carpets. You want the bristles to get as deep into the fibers to remove the stains.
I want ro know if the proheat can dry after passes of it lefts the spot wet
Does the Hydrosteam extract solution better than the other one?
I purchased this model and no regrets, only complaint is that how fast it can go through solution when using the steam + clean mode, Was shocked how quickly you can empty that tank.
Easy to clean and use!
This review is on two models and you don't state which one you bought. Im in the market for one and can't decide which one to buy. Thanks
@@WaldoWizard Sorry, I bought the hydrosteam model, The steam + clean mode uses a ton of solution. I'd recommend it for small tough stains. I think both are good in terms of cleaning but the hydrosteam has the steam benefit for tougher spots. And the handheld attachment does NOT use steam. I'm not sure if he pointed it out in the video.
@@notsporks3181 in the video the carpet looks soaked and soggy when he used the hydrosteam. How long does it take to dry when you've used it yours?
@@vincentomartellino yeah if you're using the steam wash it will use lots of water in a small area, EASILY an all day thing to dry. I recommend using a fan to make drying process faster. Several passes to dry it will help but obviously won't dry it completely.
I believe the yellow cap was designed to be an easy fill option. But bissell only added it to 1 of their cleaning solutions. It just never caught on.
Thank you for summing it up now i know what to order 🙏🙏
Hi! can the Hydrosteam accept some type of barefloor microfiber rollers if so which part# or link in amazon? I am concerned if I were to use the stock brushes that they may scratch vinyl/wood/plank flooring. Thank you so much the info you are providing.
I don't think that this machine is made for any hard wood or vinyl floors period
Get the hydro steam crosssave if you want to use on hard floors. This one is strictly for carpet. Your hard floors would be a soaked mess using this one! 😂
The stiffer bristles on the carpet cleaners can scratch LVT floors...
Which one I should buy?
If they are the same price, the Hydrosteam.
The steam function is not working on mine and it doesn't even turn off and I just bought it@@TheFrenchGlow
@@TheFrenchGlow This month, the ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro is $180 ($50 off regular price) at Costco, and the Hydrosteam Deluxe is $330 ($70 below most competitors). I've been wanting to upgrade to the Hydrosteam, but if the difference in performance is marginal, and the price is nearly double, I'll buy the 2X Pet Pro.
Is it possible to do dry passes *without the brushes scrubbing on either of these?
I want to be able to get more water out without damaging the rug by scrubbing too much. I rented a rug dr that worked like that, great for more delicate area rugs that I wanna scrub/ wipe by hand. It was so versatile
The hydrosteam has a quick dry mode that is mainly to extract water without adding more. This mode is not as aggressive as deep clean. For the 2x revolution, the brushes still spin fast on express clean mode but as long as you do not press the trigger, you will be mainly extracting and not adding solution. Comparing both and all things being equal , the revolution hydrosteam dries fast relative to other carpet cleaners under $500.
Thanks! Forgot a word in my question so I edited it.
So the brushes still spin on the rug while the machine is extracting the water solution, right? The rug Dr I used worked similarly but when I was not pulling the trigger it just extracted and the brushes didn't spin.
Is it worth the exta 80 dollars for the steam version? . I don't have dogs. Just a bird that thinks shes a dog and a cat and a human all in one . Can't decide on which one. My house has living room and 2 bedroom carpet. Comments are welcome and appreciated.
In terms of effectiveness, I wonder if this will be as far as carpet cleaners can go because what new innovation is even possible beyond steam and all the new features.
soon they wil probably make it with it with better suction, possibly cordless one day.
The true key benefit is stronger extraction and better steam function. That for sure will happen in the future. As of now the machine works so well it's amazing. I tried it on a soiled carpet with no shampoo to test and it made a significant difference alone.
The hydrosteam DEF has room for improvements. I just bought one and it’s good, but I’m not thoroughly impressed, for the cost of it anyways. There are several areas that could be improved upon.
Future machines will allow you to back in time to right before you spilled the wine on your carpet 😂
do they only work for carpets? or they work for hard floors too?
I woild recommend for carpet only. The bristles are too aggressive for some types of hard floors.
your videos have been very helpful. Thanks!
thank you for watching!
The proheat sure seemed to clean that carpet WAY faster than the hydrosteam. Is that true, it looked that way. I just bought a hydrosteam and am considering returning because to really use the steam function you do need to go slow. But seeing you whip through the mess with the proheat almost makes me sold on that one.
Hi! The proheat is a great choice but I found I make more passes with proheat even though the hydrosteam I go way slower so the steam can penetrate.
Thank you, I appreciate the video comparison. However, it would also be a good idea to show how they both work on pet urine stains wet fresh or left and dried.
I am watching because I have a month old Minature Goldendoodle who it potty training and my house it carpeted.
hi! in this case, its the subflooring you have to worry about. Any water will cause the urine smell to seep inside. (I had this same experience as I raised cats for my entire life). You need to use a dry powder - carpet cleaner first. Then afterwards use the bissell.
@TheFrenchGlow Thank you, so much foe yor reply. I appreciate it
do you sell vaccuums on amazon you look familiar
Thank you for all the great information!
What are your thoughts on using this for residential carpet cleaning?
Yes for both! I use them all the time
I’ve been debating… I know heat really lifts the nasty from your carpet. But can the hydro steam one handle pet hair?
Hi! You want to vacuum first to remove as much debris and hair before you wash your carpet. The hydrosteam will get deeper into the carpet fibers because of its large brushrolls to remove any leftover hairs. The hairs will normally clump up so you can remove it by hand when you clean the cover.
There is a pet version. I just bought it. But like the person before me stated, vacuuming is an essential step. I’d vacuum slowly 2-3 times or more if you have pets before using any carpet cleaner.
Hi, would this work on a shag rug? Also do they work as a regular vacuum or is it strictly shampooing vacuums?
Hi! Works well on shag rugs as long as the shag is not too loose. And I would not use it as a regular vacuum as hair, dust bunnies, and pet hair will get caught. You want to vacuum before you use the carpet cleaner. Hope that helps!
There is another version though, the cross wave that you can use as a vacuum and cleaner I believe
@@amandafriesen4026 But that's only for hard floors, no one tool does everything on every floor type
So is the hydrosteam still better if I have 3 little dogs. Lots of hairballs on the floor with my last steam cleaner. As long as it doesn't get jammed where the steamer is located. I saw reviews of lots of debris jamming near the steamer has that been a problem for u? Even after vacuuming there is still a lot of hair not picked up. Is not being able to take the brush roll out a problem for u too? Thank u for ur comparison it helps a lot !
Hi! I find the hydrosteam design makes cleaning out the clear front very easy especially if you use that plastic stick that comes with it. I recommend not losing it and I even used some command strips to stick it to my closest door or you could attach it directly to the unit.
Will there be a dirty water leak after with hydrosteam?
Hi no. It's sealed well
@TheFrenchGlow I got dirty leaks after clean its so messy from proheat so I'm returning it.
@@TheFrenchGlow I'm uploading a video on pro heat
Got a good deal on a hydro steam from Walmart for $280, absolutely love it
Great price! Congrats on the buy
How did you manage that?
@@Hm_Harley_Parts Walmart Rollback
I looked into it and it seems that Walmart has a version that leaves out an attachment and it's currently for 20 dollars less . Not worth it. The attachment is probably more than 20 bucks
I own the older model, no issues BUT it leaves carpet hair balls everywhereeee. I hope this new model doesn’t have the same issue.
Hi! You definitely want to vacuum before you use it especially if you have a cat or dog. You still will get hair balls but it's easier to clean
@@TheFrenchGlow got cha, preciate it!
