My girlfriend and I literally watched this entire video in the store in debating between the two! We went with the pet bc of this video! Awesome content
He had me at detachable compartments. I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and this will make my 4th vacuum in the last 3 years. I love my pets and I love a clean house. I don’t want it to sound like I’m complaining. I vacuum a lot and take full responsibility for burning out the last three. I can’t wait to try out vacuum #4. Does anyone else get excited when purchasing new cleaning products? I hope it’s not just me🤔.
@@818sakura I went with the pet. So far it has cleaned up mud, dog urine and feces (after cleaning up by hand), and 4 years of general wear and tear without pause.
@@erincoons6010 I am still trying to decide between the two. My only concern about the pet vs pet pro is ease of cleaning. Do you find it difficult to clean? The detachable head is appealing, but is it worth an extra $100?
There are some long term benefits to the expensive version, and they both come down to being able to remove the brush plate as well as the suction plate. It requires taking off the 2 belts and rollers on the cheaper version to clean the rollers well. With dirty rollers the spray nozzles above the rollers get clogged, and the entire spray "reservoir" that feeds the nozzles can get clogged up, causing the problem to occur again and again since there is no way to clean that reservoir without taking apart the whole machine. Since keeping the whole thing clean is key to long machine life and efficient day to day use the extra $$$$ can be worth it. Out of the box they are effectively the same, but after a year the expensive version will likely be in much better shape, especially if used regularly.
Yeah this is why I've honestly never used steam cleaner accessories. Even for car upholstery like you have to get a big old extension cord and haul everything out to your car, when you could just go to the carwash and use the stuff that they have to clean inside of your car... I live in an apartment too, so even the extension cord to the car is really not a good idea for me (I live on the second floor). I throw my dog beds in the washing machine, or for the ones that are too big we have a waterproof cover for a toddler mattress on the bed then a toddler bed sheet over it as well, mostly just wash the sheet once a week, wash the waterproof cover if there is ever a mishap. Work smarter, not harder.
I have the regular Pet, I went with it based off the review for the Pet Pro because it looked so similar. This really confirms that I made the right choice there. It's a great value.
@OneDayAfterAnother I have pretty standard medium pile carpet. I've really only ever used the normal setting and it's always dry within a couple hours. So I would say it does a pretty good job sucking up the moisture. The waste and supply tanks are both supposed to be 1 gallon and it usually fills up the waste tank first, with very little left in the water supply. I think mostly because of how the waste tank works and the bubbling from the detergent. I think I tend to over fill the supply a by a bit too. So take that for what it's worth.
I was at best buy yeater scratching my head at these two models. The "pro" version is what confused me because for almost $100 more, I couldn't figure out the added benefit. $228 vs $308 seems a huge gap. I'm going with the regular pet version. Thank you very much for doing this video. So helpful!

I just bought the pet pro 2X and absolutely love it. I didn’t realize there was a slightly cheaper one but that’s OK, I really love how well it cleaned both my house and my neighbors house who I split the machine with. I did notice that with the extra pet attachment for the hose it worked really well on her stairs where she has a long-haired dog and it acted like a really nice vacuum to suck up the hair before I switched it over to wet mode
Based on this review I purchased the Pet Pro (purple machine) and it does everything he said it would do. It’s extremely lightweight but incredibly powerful. This the machine you want for cleaning ability and the ability to be cleaned. Thank you Vacuum Wars guy. 😊
One of the reasons we got the pet pro was because of the ability to take it apart and clean it. The pet fur getting stuck in those hard to reach spaces is what’s killed other carpet shampooers for us.
Using a really good vacuum beforehand can help, our house always used a cheap vacuum (also a Bissell) to clean our carpets before we steam cleaned and always had large amounts of fur in our reservoir that especially at my family's house with all of our dogs, it killed steam cleaners like no tomorrow. Just recently I got a Shark Navigator and have found that I have literally no fur accumulation in my reservoir, though we do get the matted clumps of carpet fibers from the spinning brushes, don't suck those up pick them up by hand, but no fur.
Thanks for this. The cleaning aspect is important for us since we have a Siberian Husky and the hair is a HUGE issue. Taking it apart is important, we will go with the pet pro.
Yeah. It just defeats the whole purpose of it. A spray bottle does the same thing more efficiently. I can hit up multiple rooms with a spray bottle in a few moments without having to drag the carpet cleaner around the house ahead of time.
@@Ichibunsthat is very true, in theory it is for passing by a tough stain so you spray it and return but that involves bringing the machine back, yup it’s a gimmick
Great video! I was going to buy the orange model because of the price point but back in Feb of 2021, the Bissell store had a huge sale. I bought the purple pet pro for $187.49 tax not included.

That's why I bought it. I want to be able to easily clean the brush housing area so it doesn't dry and smell in the closet. The extra spot shot thing is also really satisfying to use on nasty stuff on your carpet, even if just for the mental satisfaction
We grabbed the proheat 2x pro couple of days back and we’ve just completed our first room. I would say it was fantastic and thorough deep cleaning. We could spot the difference instantly. Btw, we used the Concrobium carpet shampoo.
Thank you for the great review. You had me leaning toward the orange unit as saves a bunch of money and I am on a budget, but the removable tray on the pet pro for ease of cleaning may have me swinging the other way. (Read a review from someone who returned it being difficult to clean and clogging on them) Your review was thorough for removing stains, but as you weren't dealing with lots of pet hair, we were not able to see a comparison in ease of cleaning the unit itself. ( My only critique.)
Excellent review! I'm going with the "Pet Pro" only because of the access to the roller bushes. I have a Hoover Cleaner and the brushes and suctions nozzle are impossible to clean. With the Pet Pro I'll be able to clean the brushes and cover much more easily when they get gummed up with residue. Which makes the Pet Pro worth the extra money.
My Hoover's brushes and nozzle come off with a Philips screwdriver, then I wash them in the sink. Not sure of the model though, it's a red/maroon one with spinning brushes from around 2018.
Thank you for the video review. I went out and purchased the Pet version (Orange). It really is easy to use and does a great job. I have an older rug doctor which is bulky compared to the Bissell and it is designed to work in only one direction. My only complaint and it is not much of one is that you do have to empty the dirty water tank more frequently than I would like. Thank you again.
Thanks for this. My old bissell just died and was trying to decide between these exact two. The engineer in me appreciates you testing the suction power and the real world tests.
@VacuumWars Just to verify, the sealed hose test 6:20 is measured in Inches of Water? I'm trying to compare apples to apples between this, which I have already, and the new Ryobi Swift Clean mid size battery powered spot cleaner. I think Ryobi claims it is 70 IOW, with 29 cfm. Would that be a device you'd be willing to test?
Thanks! I'm currently using a hoover that is about 25 years old, I was debating between these two. I was going to go with the more expensive one. After seeing this I'm going with the cheaper one, since if they're pretty much the same just one offers extra solution spray and a different house attachment that only works so, so, not worth the extra $100. Thanks
Absolutely fantastic review. Every product review video should be as informative, thorough, and methodical as this one was. Really took these two deep cleaners to the lab and showed the results. Thanks for the info (saved me $70).
Hey❤ Remember i told you i would be getting another one again? Well bissell sent me a new one Thursday for free!! Now im back to tackling messes😅. I bought this machine all because of you!
Pro tip. Always use a half the amount of cleaning solution with these home pet carpet cleaning machines. Then go over the stained area more often. The reason is the more detergent you leave behind the dirtier the carpet will get. Because detergents attract dirt makes sense right? That's what it's supposed to do. Nothing beats the horsepower of a truck mounted system but these machines are great for getting spot cleaning in a pinch. Also not every stain can be got with the solution provided. An acidic stain requires an alkaline solution to balance out the stains PH level and vice versa. Getting technical I know. Haha. Cheers.
Just bought the cheaper version I think, and I'm going to use it tomorrow. Thank you for confirming what I already felt instinctively. They are virtually the same, but they jacked the price up on the bigger version with minimal changes.
Awesome video. Looks like the Pet version is also sold just as "BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution" with 1 less attachment. Thats why I was hoping to find a video like this to tell the difference between "BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution " and "BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro". Seems like they're identical machines apart from the side shot thing and an extra attachment, and different colours. The motor power is listed as 800w on both so I assumed they're the same. I hate when companies make "Pet" versions of their products, Dyson, Shark, Samsung, almost everyone does it, but there's almost always no difference in performance than the non pet model and the "pet" part just reffers to an extra attachment designed for pets which most people wont use anyway. It just makes finding products so much more confusing. Looks like I'll be getting the basic "BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution", the pet pro version isn't in stock anyway. Also it's kind of annoying that there are tests and comparisons out there which puts one of these way ahead than the other in the score despite them having seemingly the same internals.
After watching this video, I chose the PET, I have 1 dog, and some carpet in a few areas..so I figured this would do the job without breaking the bank! Great Review!
i got one and its the best carpet cleaner i have ever had. ive had the old bissel machine with the removable spot cleaner and also i got a george. the scrubbing brushes are very good
Purchased Pet Pro due to Your channel and pretty happy with it. (well, I was lucky to find one at Goodwill) Thank You for Your hard work on finding real pearls in mountains of poop!
I wouldn't underestimate how much easier the pro is to clean than the non pro. Having direct access to the brushes makes it significantly easier to clean.
@@VacuumWars I have the cheaper version, and not having access to clean the brush rollers is a definite CON! I would've bought the expensive version just for that reason had I known! found this video hoping I was overlooking a way to get to them...
Maybe try doing your artificial hair tests on these two vacuums and see the differences in hair clogging and machine cleaning difficulty. For a lot of people any money savings is not worth the time spent having to get pet hair out of the machine.
Thank you!! I was literally looking for it yestarday! You read my mind. Could you please do a comparison of which carpet cleaner pick up the most of water? Can you review Karcher carpet extractors too?
I wonder if so many people deciding to go for the cheaper Pet is what drove the price up. lol It's almost as much as the Pet Pro now and this awesome video wasn't even made a year ago.🤦🏾♀
Exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks for the concise comparison. Very happy to hear that the cheaper model is just about as good as the more expensive version. I'm off to Amazon to place the order!
Literally just was googling if the pro was worth the extra 100. I will stick with the regular non-pro one. Thanks for saving me 100 bucks! I'll buy through your link.
I just bought the Preheat 2x Pet for only $131.00 open box but unused... Regular price is like $226 the Pro goes up to $329.00 so for 131 this was a complete steal! I'm so glad I pulled the trigger on this. The Pet Pro is a cash grabber in this case go with the cheaper one!!!

Thought I posted this already maybe I forgot to hit comment. Not sure how long you have been doing this I have the Deep Clean ProHeat 2X Professional Pet Carpet Cleaner (7 years old I think) Do you you think it is worth upgrading to the Costco Version Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Pro Carpet Cleaner (seems slightly different than one above) Main issue on old one is cleaning it. Awesome video! After watching your videos I called Bissell and asked about other accessories ... Of course, the 3" Pet Stain Tool A 3-in-1 Stair Tool, (a triangular marvel of design) and found out this carpet cleaner cleans tile ! They sell a "Bare Floor Attachment" !!! Wonderful !
I've had the "orange one" since December of 2017, and bought it because of the price. I couldn't see spending the extra just to be able to squirt stains. However - it is a bear to try and get apart to clean the rollers. After doing a quick clean up, I noticed that the cleaner just wasn't working right; leaving suds on the floor along with cat hair clumps. I spent an hour trying to take out the rollers, clean the compartment, and replace them. There was so much cat hair trapped in all the cracks and crevices that I could have built another cat. If at all possible, the next one I buy will be the "purple one". Ease of cleaning is a big factor. Other than that, I am very happy with the purchase.
what are the differences in the ProHeat versions, I see they have ProHeat 2x pet 1548, 1548F, 1548P, 1550X, 1551, 1986, 15501, 15508, 22837, 22839.. and the list goes on. Thinking of buying one of these, but not sure which one to get, I can get a 1548 thats new for $110, or I might just buy the Hoover Smart Wash Pet FH53000 for $140
I've been watching these videos forever. Come prime day I'm now shopping for a new carpet shampooer and remembered this video. I've come back to double check which was better l and now saved $150 getting the regular version.
Great video as always! I have a question for you if you don’t care to give me your opinion. I’ve been looking at the Bisssell Spotclean Pro to detail one of our vehicles as it is very popular with some of auto detailing you tubers and gets great reviews elsewhere. As I am not a pro detailer I really only need it for this one vehicle and maybe a touch up here or there. We’ve also been looking at getting a Bissell Pro Heat 2x for our carpets at home which would see much more use. As the Pro Heat 2x has an upholstery attachment do you see any reason why the Pro Heat 2x wouldn’t do as well as the Spotclean pro? Are they comparable to one another? I really would appreciate your input as you have tested both thoroughly. Thank you.
What about the maintenance of the machine? How easy is it to clean the carpet cleaner after you used it? You briefly mentioned that the lid on the brush rolls for the Pet version does not come off completely. Would it be a pain to clean some stuck pet hair in there or dirt debris?
Okay. I've now bought two vacuums in my life thanks to this channel lol. Definitely subscribed and sharing some love even though (hopefully) I won't need another review anytime soon 😂
Bought the regular Bissel pet. Mine is blue and I got it at Target. I didnt need the squirt feature or the extra attachment. Save $100 folks! It works amazing. But it doesnt shine as bright on any hi pile type carpet. Water pickup suffers. I use the cord to hold the handle and ever slightly just push the head going backward. Sucks up the water. Not pushing down just backwards if this makes sense. We have something like this on our top level. On regular carpet this thing is a star. Ha ds down. Works AMAZING. worth it. Buy it! Cat foster mom approved!
Can you use the regular pet edition as a regular vacuum or does it get your carpets wet each time you use it? Also, how does it do on hard surfaces? Thank you!
Agreed. I didn’t even realize there was a plain “pet” version until watching this video. But the ability to take it apart easily and clean it out is nice (gross, but nice).
I almost upgraded to the pet pro last week because it's a pain in the.... to put the belt back on the brushes and I accidentally stripped the grooved ends that hold the belt! I did buy replacement parts and fix because at the end of the day the $40 was still better than spending another $300 ....granted I bought the thing for $100 during covid so I feel a lot better. Thank you!
I'm in the market for a carpet cleaning machine and noticed a significant price difference between the Pro and non-Pro version. This video did a great job explaining the difference and helped me decide on the non-Pro version.
Great test, do you think the upholstery attachment could take the place of Bissell's dedicated upholstery machine? I'm in the market and would prefer to only buy one machine if possible. THX!
@VacuumWars I will say...I didn't know you had to fill it with regular water after to get the rest of the suds out. I did that the day after and so much more dirty water came
How was the seal on the Pro’s suction head? We’ve got the standard Pet we bought a year ago and it keeps leaking and seems to have issues clicking in place and sealing. Don’t know if it’s just age but wondering if the design on the Pro will prevent this? A year into owning the standard Pet model and its performance has definitely declined. I’ve pulled the whole machine apart and cleaned everything. It just doesn’t stay sealed anymore.
Thank you very much for this very informative, in-depth comparison. I wanted to go with the cheaper model, but wasn't really sure what I would be missing out on...apparently, not much! The removable cover over the brushes on the more expensive model is nice, but not nice enough to go spend all that extra money! Again, thank you for a great video!
I have the pet and when I use the hose the brush still spins and so someone has to tip it some or otherwise the brush will just keep spinning causing damage to our floor. I have read my manual and didn't see anything about it and I checked reviews and read some had gotten rid of there's for the same reason. Can you tell me how to fix it? Thank you
Thank you sir, because of this video you helped me and my dog find the right Carpet. Great content, great review. 🔥🔥 I'm going with the cheaper vacuum, which makes more sense in my eyes.
I need a powerful carpet and hardwood floor vacuum and shampoo all in one. Does this exist??? Does this Bissel have a hardwood floor attachment? Recommendation please!
I’m really wondering how they do on water extraction. Is the suction power supposed to be indicative of better water extraction? It would be extra wonderful if you could measure/test how much dirty water gets pulled up after putting down an entire gallon or 1/2 gal of water, similar to your sand tests with the vacuums. When I clean my carpets, I like to continue to shampoo the entire carpet at least twice with solution and rinse several times until the dirty water runs nearly clear (also to reduce chemical residue exposure to dog and little ones)… and that can take a few tanks. So, in my case, better extraction means I can get my cleaning done faster and the carpets can be dry or mostly dry by bedtime if I start early in the day.

You had me leaning toward the orange unit as saves a bunch of money and I am on a budget, but the removable tray on the pet pro for ease of cleaning may have me swinging the other way. (Read a review from someone who returned it being difficult to clean and clogging on them)
Your review was thorough for removing stains, but as you weren't dealing with lots of pet hair, we were not able to see a comparison in ease of cleaning the unit itself. ( My only critique.)
Good input. Thank you!
Awesome review, exactly what I wanted to hear and what I was looking for 10/10
Cheers mate
Glad to hear it!
I have the pro and love the easy access from the top. 😊
My Hoover's brushes and nozzle come off with a Philips screwdriver, then I wash them in the sink. Not sure of the model though, it's a red/maroon one with spinning brushes from around 2018.
Would they both work on thick shag like carpet? I’ve had shampooers before that just won’t run in my thick carpet at all.
I clean some funky stuff so the ability to easily clean the roller area on the pro version sold me! Ty
Glad I could help!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for this. My old bissell just died and was trying to decide between these exact two. The engineer in me appreciates you testing the suction power and the real world tests.
I appreciate that. thank you for watching.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Haha.
Cheers.
cool! thank you!
The only pro for the pet pro is that it is easier to clean the brush and that is a major issue for some people
This is one of the most useful videos I've ever watched. Many thanks.
Thank you!
After watching this video, I chose the PET, I have 1 dog, and some carpet in a few areas..so I figured this would do the job without breaking the bank! Great Review!
I used both pet version and pet pro. Cleaning brush rolls is worth the extra money. Buy the pet pro when there is deal and it's worth it.
I just ordered the Pet because of this video. Thank you!
Hope you enjoy it!
This was the exact matchup I was looking for. Thanks!
i got one and its the best carpet cleaner i have ever had. ive had the old bissel machine with the removable spot cleaner and also i got a george. the scrubbing brushes are very good
Purchased Pet Pro due to Your channel and pretty happy with it. (well, I was lucky to find one at Goodwill)
Thank You for Your hard work on finding real pearls in mountains of poop!
I love my pet pro. The easy way to clean it is great.
Thank you for this. I was ready to buy the more expensive version and saw this just in time.
I wouldn't underestimate how much easier the pro is to clean than the non pro. Having direct access to the brushes makes it significantly easier to clean.
Good tip. thanks.
@@VacuumWars I have the cheaper version, and not having access to clean the brush rollers is a definite CON! I would've bought the expensive version just for that reason had I known! found this video hoping I was overlooking a way to get to them...
@@ronniehackradt8691 how do you clean the rollers in Pet (not Pro)? Is there a way to detach the rollers from underneath?
@@rskvdm there’s no way.. it’s a bummer for sure
Very useful video. Often the good reviews run too long. But this was the right length. Thank you. Hope most RUclips reviews were like this.
This decided it for me. Thanks for the short and sweet video. Methodology looked solid and presentation was fantastic.
I have a Pro Heat 2X Revolution Pet Pro that I bought because of your videos. It works really well for what it is.
I wonder if so many people deciding to go for the cheaper Pet is what drove the price up. lol
It's almost as much as the Pet Pro now and this awesome video wasn't even made a year ago.🤦🏾♀
It's hard to say!
Exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks for the concise comparison. Very happy to hear that the cheaper model is just about as good as the more expensive version. I'm off to Amazon to place the order!
Excellent video! I really enjoyed watching that. Thank you for letting me know that the less expensive one is just as good as the more expensive one.
My pleasure!
I got the Pet version, and I am happy I didn’t spend more money for the Pet Pro. Very helpful video . Thanks,
Glad I could help!
Hope you enjoy it!
@@VacuumWars Oh trust me I’m enjoying every minute of it, I live in Florida and my girls room got soaked by the hurricane. Someone told me to add baking soda to the carpet huge mistake! That thing got hard as cement and stinky. Well, problem solved.
Your videos are very helpful you should change the name to appliances War don’t limit yourself 😉
Keep up the good work!
Would like it if would suck up more water but I have a fan it helps
I haven’t checked out the Costco version. Sorry.
Awesome video!
After watching your videos I called Bissell and asked about other accessories ...
Of course, the 3" Pet Stain Tool
A 3-in-1 Stair Tool, (a triangular marvel of design)
and found out this carpet cleaner cleans tile !
They sell a "Bare Floor Attachment" !!!
Wonderful !
That is awesome!
Other than that, I am very happy with the purchase.
exactly what i was thinking when I took it apart yesterday to clean it, I'd rather pay the extra few bucks for easier maintenance
@@27quasar Yesterday must have been “Clean your Bissell Day”.
what are the differences in the ProHeat versions, I see they have ProHeat 2x pet 1548, 1548F, 1548P, 1550X, 1551, 1986, 15501, 15508, 22837, 22839.. and the list goes on.
Great! Thank you for watching!
Got the pet pro because it was on sale at Costco
It came out cheaper than the regular pet model
Gotta love Costco 🙂
Awesome! Thank you!
Damn this is the best and most thorough comparison video out👍🏾
Thank you!
Can you use the regular pet edition as a regular vacuum or does it get your carpets wet each time you use it? Also, how does it do on hard surfaces? Thank you!
I haven't explored those uses. Maybe someone here can chime in.
Have the Pet Pro, the ability to clean around the brush roll properly is worth the extra money for me personally.
Agreed. I didn’t even realize there was a plain “pet” version until watching this video. But the ability to take it apart easily and clean it out is nice (gross, but nice).
Do you recommend one of these OR the Hoover Smartwash Pet? Everyone in the comments on that Hoover video want to know too 😎😆☺️
Any comments in regards to the Bissell Proheat 2X performance when compared to the Hoover Power Scrubs?
I almost upgraded to the pet pro last week because it's a pain in the.... to put the belt back on the brushes and I accidentally stripped the grooved ends that hold the belt! I did buy replacement parts and fix because at the end of the day the $40 was still better than spending another $300 ....granted I bought the thing for $100 during covid so I feel a lot better. Thank you!
What a great content!! Really thorough comparison and explanation of the features for each model!! That's real good content
THX!
Hello, can this machine clean larger-pile carpets, or is it only suitable for short-pile carpets?
I love your videos. very informative and makes it easier to decide which to purchase based on your details of what each product does. Thank you!
Thank you so much!
2024 - got the Pet and not Pro - the Pet version works amazing. Our carpet looks brand freaking new.
That is great to hear!
Glad it was helpful!
Do these actually heat the water?
Do you think the hand tool on either of these will work for car seats?
I have the pet and when I use the hose the brush still spins and so someone has to tip it some or otherwise the brush will just keep spinning causing damage to our floor. I have read my manual and didn't see anything about it and I checked reviews and read some had gotten rid of there's for the same reason. Can you tell me how to fix it? Thank you
Thank you sir, because of this video you helped me and my dog find the right Carpet. Great content, great review. 🔥🔥 I'm going with the cheaper vacuum, which makes more sense in my eyes.
Is it good to clean tile floors too?
I want to clean the tile floor throughout the house, the sofa and the carpeted bedrooms.
I need a powerful carpet and hardwood floor vacuum and shampoo all in one. Does this exist??? Does this Bissel have a hardwood floor attachment? Recommendation please!
The pet upped their price, close to the pro because of this review
That's an interesting idea. Thank you.
Yes! The video I needed! Mother and mother in law have these two different models and wanted to know which one would be the best investment for me. Thank you for another awesome helpful video!
I'm so glad!
Great review. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Saved me a few quid👍
Great to hear!
Believe it or not I’ve been waiting for this video!!
Thank you so much for this review. I just ordered the pet version taking advantage of Black Friday sales. I decided that the extras on the pro were things I could do without and get a cheaper price but same quality. Do you have a video on how to set up and use this cleaner?
