Bought the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution. Used it for a year, then Mom ruined it. She over filled the solution tank so when we pulled the tank off, a bunch of dirty fluid dumped into the motor. We replaced it with the Hoover PowerScrub XL, which we find to be a better unit simply because it extracts nearly all of the fluid it lays down. Carpet is DRY within an hour of using it, and it’s orbital scrubbers do a good job at scrubbing away stains and soiling. Essentially, the Hoover does in 2 passes what the Bissell took in 15 passes as far as water extraction. We would have to lift the back of the Bissell up a bit to force the front of it down, and then it would finally extract the remaining solution. The Hoover has the dirty tank sitting directly on top of the head, so it naturally pushes the nozzle down into the carpet. It was also $150 LESS than the Bissell, while working so much faster. It doesn’t leave the carpets soaking wet like the Bissell did. Need I say more? It’s also significantly easier to clean the dirty tank out, and the brushes are easily removable for maintenance. It’s a much better product simple due to its design. It also doesn’t have the high, ear-piercing shrill pitch that the Bissell had, so that’s also a plus.

I've had a Bissell ProHeat for several years and it has been a maintenance headache even as a heavy equipment mechanic for 40 years you get tired of having to work on your own shit. The link rod actuated by the trigger assembly was always failing because the return spring would somehow slip past its seated position and the access to restation it required removing the power chord & hose hanger to access the two screws behind it, besides the six screws on the front side to split the handle in two for access to the link and spring, then trying to keep the link and spring in position while reassembling was real fun too. I've had the base apart a couple times as well first time because the spray wasn't functioning and found one of the nitrile clear 1/4" hoses kinked. The trigger guard broke on it a few years back, the whole plastic body assembly is so thin that it twists and tweaks and probably is the cause of the affor mentioned spring coming unseated. The selector switch to divert the vacuum plenum port flap from floor to the upholstery hose broke. I hade to remove the floor vacuum front shield, drill two holes through it over the flap, drill one hole in the flap inline with the one in the shield, feed a 16 gauge electrical wire with a knot on one end through the bottom side of the flap and feed it up through the shield, install the shield, and then thread a sheet metal screw the right length through the plastic shield so if I needed the flap up, back off on the screw and pull on the 16 gauge to raise the flap, and then screw in the screw to close the flap over the port. After using it successfully a while back I pulled it out set it up to clean my carpet again and it didn't work. So I had to go out to my garage to get my 5 HP Shop Vac clean it out of dirt remove the filter and bring it in the house on wet mode. I had a new plastic hand pump sprayer that I then sprayed the mix of water and carpet cleaner over the spots and whole carpet used the Bissell's brush function to scrub the soaped up carpet, brought my garden hose in the house and sprayed down the carpet lightly then used the shop vac to suck up the moisture it did a great pain in the ass job. It's too bad all these different pod cast reviews on your household products only test their function on brand new devices and what they're designed for, but you never get a longevity maintenance and performance critique, but I'm glad to provide my experience as a retired professional mechanic that has worked on devices way more complicated, but also engineering nightmares.

ChatGPT Summary - The user expresses frustration with their Bissell ProHeat carpet cleaner, detailing numerous maintenance issues over the years. Problems include frequent failures of the link rod actuated by the trigger assembly, difficulty accessing components for repair, and issues with the thin plastic body assembly causing various malfunctions. The user has had to address problems such as a broken trigger guard, a kinked hose, and a malfunctioning selector switch. They criticize the product's construction and highlight the challenges of maintaining it, contrasting their real-world experience with what they perceive as the limited scope of typical product reviews that focus on new devices and intended functionalities rather than long-term performance and durability.

I honestly think most any household products back 40 yrs through now are being made to break n have to buy new. I've seriously thought about writing the Senate to pass bills addressing these and many other product's being built so cheap they aren't only costly to consumer's but causing Mega Tons of unnecessary waste which destroys our land and more. Plus to get back to work on food and drink safety. Especially those shipped to us internationally.

I’ve had this vacuum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was cleaning it today and thinking about how much I love no bags to buy and that it comes apart for easy clean up. When I first purchased it we had two dogs and a cat and it kept up well. The suction was great then and still is now. I’m always amazed at the amount of hair it picks up, it works better than any other vacuum I’ve had for pet hair. The attachments are handy and work well. It’s easy to use with arthritic hands. I just had to come write a review because I’m still so pleased with this purchase.

I bought the Bissell ProHeat 2x Revolution about 3 years ago, and within a year, the suction stopped working, literally it would just dump dirty water everywhere. After troubleshooting and calling customer service, they were nice enough to replace for free with a brand new one. About a year and a half later, I am experiencing the same issue. Suction just not picking up the water well (but not dumping it this time). It's great when it works, however long that may be.

Smart wash, I bought 2 and started cleaning carpets I'm my town because Stanley Steamer left and there was no carpets cleaners left. Both of those machines made me a lot more money than I ever thought I was going to make. Simple Facebook advertising. It's all about the pretreatment brush if needed , the hottest water available and get all the carpet wet and everything will start to come out. Soap is not a carpet's friend unless the carpet is really soiled. Try pretreatment and just hot water to see how ii looks before dumping a bunch of soap on it. Soap residue left behind takes all the dirt off of the bottom of your shoes and feet and shows on the carpet showing a dingy dirty looking carpet quickly a week after it was cleaned.

The Hoover SmartWash is too smart by half. I have an old Hoover (15 years or more). This new Hoover fails in one big way: there is no Rinse Only setting. And I don’t want it to “Dry” in reverse I want it to Rinse in reverse!! This thing has no rinse setting. The only way to rinse is to remove the soap tank and push it forward. The old Hoover had a rinse setting and a trigger so you could target where you want the rinse water. This one tries to be “smart” but, like most things that claim to be smart, is not.
