Been watching professional cleaners about doing this kinda thing at home. He fills a spray bottle with the cleaner, and sprays down the fabric, lets it sit, agitates it with a brush, then flushes out the cleaner and dirt with the actual carpet cleaner vacuum. Figured this might help anyone out who always had to wait WAY too long for things to dry because i got them too wet and left soap in the fabric.
This is why I came to the youtubes. I was worried about using the cleaner on an " appearingly clean couch" only to find afterwards the left over soap attracted far more dirt than ever before. I plan on using the spot spray method and utilizing the green machine for brush agitation, hot water spray to flush, and strong suction afterwards to evacuate. Thanks for your post! It was most helpful.
@@hudis78 Truthfully, I used the greenmachine with warm water only on our 4 year old couch and chair and it cleaned it nicely. There wasn't any soiled areas but I know it could have used a refresh and it worked great. I also used it on a few spots on our carpet and they lifted them without the cleaning spray.
Instead of the cleaner in the tank do hot water and in a separate spray bottle do your solution mixed with water and that way you’re sucking up all of the soap out of the fabric!
Just take the covers of the sofa cushions and put them in the washing machine with an enzyme based detergent and it will come out much better. Same for the dog bed! I think the Bessel green clean machine is useful for things that can’t have their covers removed.
After watching several different guys show how to use this thing by spraying, brush a little, wait, then fast forward with no explanation about how to use the spray and suck attachment, I looked for another video that would give me more information and... here you were! Within a minute of you starting to use this machine you answered the question I had - that it worked better when you sprayed and sucked up the water at the same time, and it worked better. THANK YOU!!! ❤ Oh, and if you use Spot Shot (I think the can version works better BYMMV), you can get the stains out. I've used the liquid form (just 1/4 cup) in a full tank on a full-sized carpet shampooer with the water and regular carpet shampoo to help get most of the light stains out while shampooing the full carpet.
I have the older version of this machine, the Little Green ProHeat it has the option to keep the water you put in it warm/hot. I also have the accessory for it called the ProHeat Turbo Brush which has a spinning brush that's powered by the suction to scrub stuff. I had also purchased the newer version Bissell SpotClean ProHeat, but it didn't work as well as the old version. Bissell also just released a newest version called the Little Green HydroSteam with a steam function which is even better in case anyone is considering purchasing this thing.
The fact you have young kids and your white couch looks so good!!! I had a beige one with two girls that looked even worse after a week of use lol. Half of the stains wouldn't even come out with the same exact machine lol
FYI. that little green clip, that you weren't sure of, goes on the bottom front of the unit to help hold the hose in place. I love my lil green machine takes care of pet stains like a dream (i have 2 cats)
Make a solution of alcohol 91%, Dawn dish soap 1 tsp, oxyclean 1/2 scoop, and hot water 1.5 cups, let it sit than spray, try not to scrub- just extract.
This was great, thanks...I wish the clear plastic part came off on my machine's vacuum head, it's driving me nuts😅but your video helped w everything else. God Bless you all 🙏🏼💖
I really like the attachment that cleans the house itself! That's really smart. My mom really wanted this one, but I had gotten her a different type of handheld thing, regretting my choice now 😅
There's a similar one that's actually in the form of a regular vacuum so you don't have to do the whole thing by hand kneeling/sitting and with such a small piece which can get difficult and time consuming. This one works a bit better but it's worth it for the other if she wouldn't like the hassle
I noticed the difference between the clean water and dirty water canister by the middle of the video was pretty drastic so I would say press down into the the fabric a little more to get out more water so your things are not as damp.
It's very satisfying. It's amazing with fabric couches and such, it's best to do it a few times over though until the water runs near clear. pretty good with carpets too but not as satisfying.
I used it for my mats and couches .. its doesnt do a great job.. it leaves real stains as it is.. but does get something out.. it left my couch also jot in a great condition
Awe, Ollie! My Buddy (RIP) hated the dreaded 'B' word, too. He'd run and hide when the word was uttered. We had to spell it out ("Buddy needs a B-A-T-H); but he learned to spell, apparently. 😂 Thanks for the video!
Had one at my old job 15 years ago....I wanted to take that thing so bad when I quit....but I have a conscious ....sometimes it sucks being a good person 😂
Girl let me help you out with your white couch, just use rinse aid for your dishwasher. It will turn out brand new. I’ve gotten old blood stains out of a white wool rug with that!😉
I had one of those. Used it three times and went to use it on the fourth and it didn’t turn on (over the span of having it about a year). I’ll never buy one of those again. After some research it’s a known problem. And yes, I kept it VERY clean after each use.
As a professional carpet and upholstery cleaner for 35 years I don't recommend doing this !! You may brown the material, fray the material, and most importantly you will leave a lot of soapy residue that when dry dust dirt will attach to it and get dirty quickly not to mention that it will become a problem because now it will be difficult to remove all that residue even for a professional!
Nice little machine, handy for moving around but surely the covers come off of the furniture for washing, the dog bed cover definitely does as I see the zip, I wash furniture covers in the washing machine and, if I had a dog, their bed cover would also go in. I use my cleaner (different brand) for carpets, mattresses etc. ❤
even if they are washable, steaming is honestly easier. taking them all off, washing them, drying them, and then putting them all back on is kind of a nightmare.
I had one because I had carpet and 4 animals at the time, and I used it all the time, for the carpet, and my mattress, but on the clean water container the black lid thing broke, and it started leaking water everywhere when in the machine, and I had to throw it out, I got hard wood floors finally, but I now have 7 animals, and my mattress and bed board (yes sadly thats fabric too 😭) doesn't smell very good, and it sucks not having one (cant afford one currently) but my mattress came a dark gray with small yellow squares forming a pattern, so I cant even see it its gross stain dirty, or just febreze disinfectant spray dirty (just a smell) so it really, really sucks, Im going to try and get baking soda to try and help till I could get the shampoo vacuum again 😢 It was a great help when I had it though
Ok, to many comments to see if someone is asking and if you have answered, how wet did it make your couch and how long did it take your couch to dry? Also as a mother of 5 I am here to say white is not our friend 😊.
Honesly i need something like this, me and my boyfriend are renovating the house and bought some secondhand chairs (or well they where free to pick up) but they are not the cleanest anymore
I had wanted one of these for a while now (before it went viral) and got mine off Amazon when they had it on sale a couple of months ago or so. I got to use it finally today (my dog doesn’t like loud noises so my husband took him for a road trip) and it did a good job on my dog’s bed and our rug. I’m happy I got it on sale and it was super easy to clean (except the brush attachment since hair got stuck inside it.
I have to comment here 1- your house seems to be dust free and that's what gives you the dirty water. 2- Bissell make good machines but bad cleaning solutions. look for a better solution that is more powerful and professional for your white couch to use with the wet vacuum you have and you will get your results
Hi I bought the machine secondhand and it didn't come with the thingy to clean the hose after u use it . Also , there's some dirt stuck in the brush see through plastic part . Any suggestions ?
Mine too. Left obvious stains behind. And it broke quickly and they wouldnt honor the warranty. It was maybe 6 months old. The sprayer stopped working but it still sucked up. They said that wasn't covered and was user error. Won't waste my money on Bissell again.
And the nozzle is tiny because this machine is really for small clean ups, not major projects (hence the name). For that, you'd use their *Big Green Cleaning Machine* - which is truly astonishing!
Couches are nasty lol. Especially when they have those more velvety textured fabrics that collect pet hair or you live with more messy types. Honestly I'd rather have a futon at this rate. Good wood bones and you can replace the cushions.
Ma'am, did you even bother reading rhe directions for use? Because it sure does seem like you did not, which begs the question: Why would you do a review video on something you're absolutely clueless about?
This machine is the worst freaking machine ever. I bought it two years ago and it is the biggest scam. It barely sucks up the water on upholstery. It’ll work if you have some kind of leak and you need to suck a massive amount of water, but you have to empty it off and might as well use a shop vac. It stinks to high heaven. It stains anything that you try to clean it with. Because the cleaner and the suction are the same freaking area, the cleaner is just dirty. My whole van smells like mildew now because we try to use this again on the seats. I’ve tried bleaching all the hoses and all the containers to no avail. It is the worst. Just get yourself a shop vac and a spray bottle and freaking use a shop vac.

fans and hair dries is how i do it when i can't air dry outside

Thank you.
I assume he didn’t fill the vaccum with any liquid?
Thank you for being honest and actually showing how a normal person would struggle with it the first time. 😊
Yes, why I looked too. Really appreciate this. 😊
😊
"My couch is so dirty!" Camera: Literally can't see any of spots until you zoom in really close :/
Lolll trust me it’s more grey heheh
I turned the brightness on my phone all the way up, and I still couldn't see any stains.
@@heyitshoneysuckle If it were _that_ dirty, the waste water would have been far worse, tbf.
@@221b-Maker-StreetTrue. That's how you can always tell.
For rugs stains is great, I do recommend it.
Instead of the cleaner in the tank do hot water and in a separate spray bottle do your solution mixed with water and that way you’re sucking up all of the soap out of the fabric!
Best not to put hot water. It will damage the machine
Just take the covers of the sofa cushions and put them in the washing machine with an enzyme based detergent and it will come out much better. Same for the dog bed! I think the Bessel green clean machine is useful for things that can’t have their covers removed.
Ashley told me I can’t put in the washer does ur fabric say tht

I got a dog, so an at home carpet cleaner came next. This thing is a lifesaver

hi! @Remnantofagirl I'm considering purchasing this to remove cat hair from the couch. Can it do that?
I used to have one of those when my kids were little. Love that machine.
Make a solution of alcohol 91%, Dawn dish soap 1 tsp, oxyclean 1/2 scoop, and hot water 1.5 cups, let it sit than spray, try not to scrub- just extract.
How much alcohol?
I love that machine…. Makes your life so easy with children and pets.

I came for the tutorial and fell for Ollie. I think pre-treating the stains boosts the cleaning ability.

Any recommendation of this kind product?
Can you use backing soda and vinegar in their tank instead? I used their liquid fabreezy cleaner and now hate the scent, can it be removed from sofa?
This thing is so old. Came out over 12 years ago. Im surprised not everyone knows about it yet.
I noticed the difference between the clean water and dirty water canister by the middle of the video was pretty drastic so I would say press down into the the fabric a little more to get out more water so your things are not as damp.
This is great! Love your reviews of products (cleaning and kitchen). Would you be able to do some reviews of pots and pans?
I have this for 8 years. I use it to clean carpet. does a great job to clean my carpet.
You need to get Folex and pretreat the carpet and upholstery before going in with the machine.
Awe, Ollie! My Buddy (RIP) hated the dreaded 'B' word, too. He'd run and hide when the word was uttered. We had to spell it out ("Buddy needs a B-A-T-H); but he learned to spell, apparently. 😂 Thanks for the video!

Put the suction on and suck up tap water, or if you want to use a cleaner mix some up in the sink or a bucket and suck that through the tube.
That you have 1.27 million subs with that voice and verbal cadence is astounding.

Try mixing the water with laundry powder or detergent to get more extra cleaning power
