Hey TwoShoes! Loved the video! I'm beginning to stream soon and I'm in the "preparation phase" of it and everything is set up, but I still don't have a name! Do you have any advice on how to find a name for my account? thanks
I do have a remark about the patience one though, sometimes it's okay to just go for it, start doing it, start doing something at least. Keep thinking about it or keep planning and it won't get you nowhere. I started out with another YT channel and I just started making videos while I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, could not edit so I would just record it in one take, had a crappy cam and all that. One of those videos actually got me more than 2K views. After that I started to watch videos about content creation and stuff and I realised I was nowhere near an acceptable level of creating and that actually started to hold me back, all the plans, all the things that could be better, but while I was sitting on that, I wasn't putting anything out there so I wasn't really doing anything, because there was always a video to watch about how to do an even better job... So keep a healthy level of just doing it and keep thinking about it a little bit longer I guess ^^

One of the hardest years for my wife and I and I am so happy to see her hustling even through the hardship! Twitch has helped her get back into something she loves which is enjoying video games with friends and family! With your help and support of people around us she has been able to get Affiliate in a short few weeks and continues to grow weekly! Hope you see her name up with the big ones enjoying games and the hustle! Thank you!
Absolutely love the energy you throw out with these videos, very unique. Would love to catch more streams but they always land around 2am my local time. Great tips as always 🙌
As a starting streamer transitioning from TikTok "fame" (300k) I'm so so glad I spent weeks just binge watching streaming advice before actually starting. I was able to avoid a lot of the stuff you said not to do. The only difference I would say is that I started when I didn't have everything I really should've. I barely understood OBS and things were a little janky, but I had established a small following and kept at it, and my channel only gets a little better and better each day.
Thank you for all the pointers! I've been streaming for 11 months but I still clicked immediately. :) I completely agree about getting those first viewers organically! I was super embarrassed about being a "Minecraft streamer" and didn't send my link to anyone. I got my first viewers through Twitch, then I got involved in Discord communities, which made all the difference! Y'all got this, even if you don't have that support from the start.
The first tip is so real. It also makes it slightly worse in that if people search from Low to High, and you have 3 friends lurking, then you will be was lower in the Low To High search. And there is a lot of people that use that Filter. So you make it even harder for you to gain real organic viewers, that actually might follow and be a returning viewer.
Depends on the category your streaming. If it's a huge one it may be good to have 0. But if its medium to small, just by having 4 you already appear in the second or third line of recommended which is what most people use. Rarely ever people go for "low to high" unless they really wanna support someone (which I usually do). Most people go for the recommended
Hey, I just want to let you know that your videos are really helpful and I appreciate how genuine they are. There are a lot of stream tips videos out there on youtube but yours are the only ones i've found to be really relateable and relaxed enough to where I feel like I can achieve what you're suggesting. Thank you for making these and I hope you continue!

I think RUclips will become the go to place for streaming very soon. Makes sense to have all your content in one place and while they aren’t number 1 for streaming they are for VODs.
He makes a living out of this, so he is a professional to some point. Also, you dont have to be top 5 streamer to know these things. It's basic stuff most streamers who have been on twitch for a while know, which helps newbies a lot
Glad you stressed how much work this is, I think pretty much everyone, myself included, underestimates how much work actually goes into growing as a content creator. Thankfully I have a patient wife who has put up with me coming to bed late every night lol.
Hi Dan! I just discovered your channel while doing my own research to start streaming, and I am curious if you've made a tutorial on how to set up your Twitch account? Or, could you do a one-on-one session? If your time allows for it, of course! Loved the video, it's very helpful for a newbie who wants to try and make it in the streaming world!
Hey! I've not made that video no! I used to offer 1on1 sessions but its something I dont do anymore given I like to give away any info freely. If you ever swing by the stream I'm always happy to answer any question that you have or else in discord :)
Absolutely! Thanks for letting me know. Totally get it and I really appreciate your generosity in sharing info freely! I'll definitely drop by your stream when I can. Discord can work perfectly for me, since I'm usually on there! I can't seem to find your server link, unless you haven't made one, or you're referring to direct messaging... 😅
As always, an amazing video!❤️ I’ve been a little down lately. I haven’t been streaming lately and when I do, I haven’t gotten many followers but I’m slowly but surely working to improve. I’ve been rewatching my VODS, taking notes on what I could do better. The only thing that’s really getting to me is not having a PC yet. I only need a GPU, CPU, RAM and a fan but I don’t have the opportunity to spend money on that stuff yet but I still want to stream. I decided to switch from Overwatch because streaming that directly from PS4 looks really pixelated
Good video dude. I stream to another source but some great advice. The burn out is real. Putting in long hours to gain that extra view. But if the chat is bouncing and a massive view count its also very addictive and almost impossible to step away.
An awesome video as per usual, Dan! 😆👍👍 as always, I appreciate you for taking the time to highlight these very useful insights coupled with advice on what to do and not what to do gleamed from your own missteps and successes. Plus, lest I forget to mention the icing on the cake being same solid & impartial advice that you never fail to impart onto those of us who watch your content. ☺👌🍰 Cheers to you, my man! 🍻

Good video! But at "Patience, Young Padawan" I think it is critical to do the error in the beginning. The time and effort you put into this error as a streamer, will have you made you good! You probably come out with even more ideas and how to improve them! I take alot of your input to use at the my stream! A Little Effort.. is really good! Mods is where I am at! I will now implement aswell! I must ask you what type of requirements do you have on your mods? Keep up the good work!

Like "Ohh I should stream this new game" and instead of making taking some time to plan it out and in my case, maybe make some new alerts or sound effects that are inspired from the game, Ill just dive headfirst into the stream when I know it could have been better:) Learning from natural mistakes is a must, but if you KNOW you could be doing better from the start, it's slightly differnt imo:)
Hi, I have noticed one very curious thing on my stream. I have the starting soon screen and I have like 5/6 people waiting right? 10 minutes into the stream I go back to 2/3 until I take a couple of minutes break and while I am on break, I get back to 5/6 viewers then 5/10 minutes into the stream back to 2/3. I watch back my vods but I cannot figure out why people keep leaving. I think I just turn people off at this point 😅😂
I guess I’m lucky lol I started streaming 6 days ago and just said let see what happens and pressed go live lol I’ve already got 10 consistent viewers and I’m only missing the followers to become affiliate ! PS I’m using a PS5 to stream and a PS5 camera and the stream quality is not bad! The camera is ass but when your creative you make it interested
