After several years of "Oh maybe I should give streaming a chance" I finally picked my heart up in march and just started. I went in with no expectations and just told a friend about it. So I was totally fine in my mind with streaming for only him and well ... me :D
But I picked two niche games and quickly more and more people came in and most fascinating to me: they stayed.
Now I am a little over 2 months in. I just averaged 10 viewers in a stream without raids/hosts for the first time, got my 20th subscriber and will host my first community stream later this week ...
Point isn't to brag but: I never would've thought. I had good weeks and I've had bad ones ... But I am so glad I am here right now and can invest time in this hobby of mine! :D

God, sleep is such an important part of the process. I've cancelled so many streams through being unmotivated when the kids have woken me up or I just got a rubbish sleep. Top work as always!

One of the best pieces of advice I ever heard was "You don't grow while you are live" while the truth is a bit more nuanced than that, it made me recognize that 'grinding it out' is unhealthy and just waiting for people to show up is like buying a lottery ticket. Joining communities and making friends there has done far more for my growth than just staying live for hours on end.

Trello board helps a lot. Up until about a week ago, I used to have a running text document of ideas and todo's, but it just became overwhelming. With my Trello board, I have different boards for different types of ideas or implementations. I found that when I would open the text document, I spent a lot of time just figuring out what was feasible to do, while wasting a lot of time. With the trello board, I have things labeled and separated based on what type of work it is. Some work requires me to be at a computer, some requires money. It just let's me be more organized for when I can sit down to get some improvements done. I have a suggestions channel in discord and I copy over any ideas that I like into a separate board in trello called Suggestions (Approved).

This is definitely a good video for anyone. I took a break for a month because I felt so overwhelming by work, recording, editing and uploading which I ended up losing the passion for youtube. As everyday felt like groundhog day but I finally found the passion again im never going to go back to the way I was and because of that I found content I enjoy creating so its great I found a happy medium. Its great to see that you have time for your streaming and content on top of work bro best of luck for you 👍

Great video :) thanks! I keep doing the thing where I try to stream longer than usual for no real reason. I keep thinking "but what if more viewers come in right now and I end up missing them?" and like you said, it's just grinding into the night for no real reason. Awesome tips

Recently started streaming for several reasons, one of them being to improve myself with my introversion and silent nature. I've been working on it for years and I feel like the 1 month streaming I did in June helped me more than anything so far, I've been feeling complete and productive for the first time!
Slowly starting to get addicted to streaming in general, mainly because I only stream on 2 days/week for 2h minimum. Kept that schedule for my first month (minus one day, which I compensated with the day after and creating highlights/improving channel)
So I am kinda torn. During weekdays I only get time the same time I stream at fridays. Also not sure if streaming more is a good option for me.
Do what works for you for now. No pressure to do more. You can always trial and error it and see:) But keep your wellbeing in mind! Best of luck!

I'm more or less still on the starting blocks with only 14 followers and I've been thinking about what i can improve, like finding a way of giving people a reason to get into the chat.
I've also been trying to get feedback to see if there's something I've not noticed that I'm doing that puts people off.... but getting people to give feedback is easier said than done.
I know a couple of things I can improve, like using lighystream cos my laptop can't handle the encoding...and telling my friend who I steam with to move his desk fan so it doesn't affect his sound.
All great ideas! Keep going with it!

but its okay, i'm doing it for fun and this will be my second long stream! First one was 12 hours and by doing that i was able to reach affiliate! Its hard work but at the same time i have fun doing it c:

03:05 when i record i usally record betwean1 -3 viudeos at a time and then edit them and i put them on a schedule and boom i have videos for maby 2 weeks but it's just an advice if u need some time off

I should say. If yah wanna do a 24 hour stream. Set it as a community challenge to get redeemed.
2 things from this. 1. You can plan it out properly and get the days off work and get yourself the right things for it. 2. You'll know how much your community actually wants it.
And bonus. You can hype it up for an awesome 24 hour stream. Seriously.
I see so many 24 hour streams or subathons with 0 planning or community knowledge and that is what kills them. For us small time peeps, planning is absolutely needed. On the spot decisions or short notice plans for big events really makes a community feel like they aren't terribly important to you.
And yes. I'm a 24+ hour stream veteran. Have done close to 100 over the course of my streaming life. But also know your own limits.
