Clash is legit worse than 2CP. Honestly before they spend so much money/man hours on a mode and game design, they need to use the design scheme from hero challenges (the blue blocks) to prototype map layout and game mode design and push it to an experimental game mode. They should not be investing time/money and deign resources into a map or game mode that is objectively broken when they could have tested it in the real world. No one cares what the map looks like if the game mode is crap.
they had a debate with spilo advent samito and of course indian dude :) and honestly when they talked about clash they were definitely right about something, a game mode where 90 percent of the map isn't visited.
I've been saying this since that artic map, and I gotta push back a little on control, its equally as bad a gamemode but it had good map design for the most part unlike these newer gamemodes which also just are structurally bad design wise too, but like many of the older control maps had unique gimmicks that encouraged more play outside the point like the entire illios line is a great example where the hole makes most heros cautious of the point or the other maps point is inside a building with rails all around so often you take the fights in and around the buildings on the sides or the middle, but control and most these other maps often have a major flaw where they dont expose the player to enough different environments throughout a match, now excort and payload inherently have this, theyre the pinnacle of this I think, the payload constantly changes the environment while you can make each environment branch off and do almost anything you want as long as it's with in reason, while anything with a point inherently is gonna struggle with this, especially when you put no obstacles on the point and bland walk ways to the point like pretty much all the maps in that new artic control maps line do. But older control maps have this same issue and even the best ones still suffer from this but I'll grant you that control is still the 3rd best gamemode behind payload and escort just the gap between those two and control is miles away imo and we should still wanna limit control maps while maximizing payload with a fair bit of excort if they have good ideas for first points, because payload is overwatch, just like siege is paladins and I bet if we let the playerbase choose their gamemodes the same way paladins does, we would see ridiculous wait times on control, with as good as you'll get in terms of queue times giving weve split the playerbase up for payload, but its most certainly gonna blitz control and all these new gamemodes for sure 😂 But the main issue and why they wanna try and make a new gamemode, isnt to give us a better experience, if that was the case than I think it would still at least be fine as I bet theyd still be putting love and care into the maps but what they're after is an easy to make gamemode, theyre just making mirrored maps so they can cut their work in half and with that attitude I dont see anything good ever coming out of these devs again besides skins, hell even when they dropped juno, she was too fun so they nerfed hp on all movement heros which has completely ruined the game for me personally
A lot of ppl [me being one] that you don't attack that last point. If your a couple points up. Let them have that close to their spawn point. And just fall back into defensive mode on the last adjective you just captured. And take the advantage back.
nah man, it's kind of just a hard fail across the board you're being nice if anything, none of these new game modes make me happy when they come up, it's more like oh here we go again.
i dont get they keep adding shit the game doesnt need. new maps, new gamemodes, new heroes, just stop and fix the shit you already have. we dont need more and more and more, in a few years were gonna have far too many heroes and whatever, and thats going to cause a whole new set of problems
my favorite part of blizzard balancing is removing the 2 week intro period of characters not being available in comp until its balanced. Blizzard I don't know maybe should've kept that and included the new game modes for testing prior to ruining ranked.
hot take but i like push. aside from new queen street the maps are great. wave respawn definitely made it worse since forward spawn became so much more powerful. if the maps were reworked to another mode they’d be some of the best in the game.
After push stopped being in everygame I saw people like Flats saying that it's fine now and I was like "no???? This gamemode still fucking sucks nothings changed about that."
Flashpoint could've been koth and it would've been better though. The strengths of the mode are the koth elements while the problems are tied to it are mostly unique to it like a massive map you have to walk through. High mobility characters get too much of an advantage on it. They didn't need to reinvent the wheel. Fix up 2cp and then balance maps. They could've done a hybrid map where the middle point is a point while the 1st and last are payloads if they wanted to do something different.
Tbh I love any map that has a payload, every other map feels too FFA ish, the payload maps tell a progressive story , you don’t fight in the same place time and time again , the payload makes you use the map and slowly appreciate every side of it , and it promotes togetherness and strategy , I hate flashpoint, I hate clash , i like push a little , I don’t like koth as a mode but I like the maps designed for it
The payload going faster only works for 2, or 3 ppl. More than that it's irrelevant. You go faster with 3 ppl on payload by 33%. 4 or 5 ppl has no difference.
I like the idea of push but the implementation is bad. Having to push the robot all the way back to the objective just feels bad. I wish there were two robots or something to balance it out. When the game mode was first introduced I thought they were going to introduce some sort of creeps like in League or Dota. Something about the mode just feels incomplete.
@luiegiii really? I love the way it's balanced honestly. It gives high intensity, every step the bot takes can make or break the game. It's like 2 way payload, and it's the moat satisfying game mode to get a comeback in. I also love the variety of flank routes, and some flank routes are good all game long. I love the battle to control the major flank, and the robot. And each section offers different game play, and different challenges for each team. I also feel dps is much more important in that game mode, than something like control. Some maps in control you just have to push through the tanks and support cooldowns. While push let's you isolate and 1v1 a bit more, while keeping the point relevant
@@matthewking7571 I agree with your point on the maps. I think the maps are great. I just think having to push the robot all the way back to the barrier every time makes it very annoying imo. I think AVRL summed up the problem well. When you are trying to win the point you have to basically reset the score from 100 to zero just so that you can start to accumulate a score on your side. I think scoring in the game feels bad. The maps and idea behind the mode are great. I just think scoring and winning is awful.
@luiegiii I honestly don't, I think it's pretty good. Because the bot moves pretty fast while not pushing. Plus the whole thing that you have to win 2 fights to score, you kinda have to win 2 fights to score much in control anyways. Plus in control you can spawn camp, while scoring, with your full team, so you're not even playing the point. I think the way you score in push is rewarding, because you have to earn it. Plus if they get 99% in control you can't lose a single fight, or is just over. But in push you get a chance for 8 full minutes, at the least. Plus the robot is good cover. Personally I think it's a dynamic, and more engaging version of control. Control is absolutely the 2nd worst mode. It's so static and easy to snowball on many maps. It's a really cool marriage of control and escort, with extremely dynamic maps
Clash hate detected = opinion valid. Not a single game mode in OW has absolutely killed my vibe other than Clash, not 2CP infinite stalls, not Push walking simulator, nothing. Clash on the other hand is awful, it's way too "brawly" in an arcade type way, there is no substance other than face-smash between the two opposing teams. This is definitely exacerbated by wave/group respawns, it's like playing a roguelike, zombie/horde shooter. The maps feel closed in, with pocket areas of arcade type chaos. I am not afraid to say I hate it, and it straight up sours my mood. MAKE MORE MAPS for FUN gamemodes.
These maps are overdesigned. Ways are confusing. It would be way better if they add the ability for us to choose which map we can play and queue to practice instead of playing gamble with system. Especially when the map pools are getting bigger going on. I thought I knew enough about very flank points of the maps still cant remember all the health pack locations.
Have you ever played paladins? It has capture points in the center of every map that turns into a push cart that rewards another point if you complete the push. First to 4 points wins a match.
I wish push was more designed like payload race from TF2. 2 payload structure, each can be pushed back slowly like normal payloads so you wouldn't need to push double the distance to make a millimeter of progress. Idk blizzard have shown that they don't know how the game ever worked and how they don't care to learn from mistakes.
@@donaldjgumpofficial5754 Yeah i agree but then again that feels like TF2 outside of the comp scene in general. I think it could work in overwatch with its smaller team sizes.
@@MikuBeaming I actually think the opposite. Payload race needs more players because you have to push your own payload while also trying to stop the opponents'. Every other mode in competitive has only one point/payload you need to attack/defend at one time.
The only reason I like push is because I can flank and spawn camp or pick off players when matchmaking gives me a shit team. it is the one game mode where I can take it upon myself to win and if I don't its on me. Love the Rants as always. also on the juno thing, shes the sigma of support, she does everything. I would like her to have to actually pass through the ring making it a gameplay choice of where and when she uses it. As of right now its free value for pushing a button. Ana has to pick when and where she deploys the grenades' she can use it on her team and receive the benefits. Even bapps lamp is a choice of self or team same with suzu. My point is you can not bait or ring or wait for it or punish juno unless she chooses to position herself like a bot. Her ult is also overtuned imo, it beats kiriko rush and nano, so effectively its a throw not to have juno right now simply for the ult fight. cool concept cool character needs some turn down
I have a question maybe someone can answer, I see a lot of overwatch content hating on the games design and gold players are always made fun of. Is there a specific reason it’s gold players that are made fun of rather than platinum/silver/bronze? Just a question bc i’ve noticed it a lot.
surprised by more pay to win style game options? I wish I could believe that this was an honest attempt to a new game mode, this seems like an easier way to rig games that's less apparent. Feels like every new "game change" blizzard does nowadays has some scummy agenda behind it. I don't believe anything they say for a fawking minute because taking skill away from players should be illegal and that seems to be the focus of this season, less skill, win game.
Haven't watched the video yet but my thoughts are that Flashpoint is "fine". It doesn't do anything offensive, the only time I seem to have issues with it is when teammates don't know how to rotate/reset after winning/losing a point and moving onto the next one, but it's rarely an issue. Push is a mathematically flawed mode. I'm not a fan, the matches last long and it often feels like hardly any progress is made on either side, or it's a complete stomp because 5v5 is awful therefore making the matchmaking worse. Clash... this mode is intentionally made to make the winning team lose to the defending team because of the design of the final capture points. Somehow they managed to make a worse version of the second point from Assault maps! Defenders gain every advantage... spawn point, high ground, they even added wave respawn which makes the spawn point advantage far stronger and fights never end because even when people die they just keep coming back straight away. The idea that it's better to lose the first capture point so you gain the advantage defending B/D and then trying to snowball into winning C onwards is absolutely insane.
I don't know about other games but think about something like csgo lol. You don't need 100 game modes for completive play it doesn't add anything the original modes were good if they wanted to get 2cp out then fine keep assault payload and control. Those modes are completely fine. Also side note, we dont get maps for good modes anymore! The antarctic control map was the last one not a fan btw and before that pretty sure paraiso was in 2022...
Clash and push are great in my shit elo. They always end fast and that's what matters most, win or lose. A 5-4 payload game is just 30 minutes of unbridled dog piss. Maps don't even matter really. It's just about which team has more brain dead heroes. The yawnless vids lately have been fire. Shit game.
Meanwhile I’m over here having fun with whatever non comp mode I decide to play or is chosen. Are some not great? Yeah. But either way, I’ve got real problems to worry about.
New game mode design just proves that they don't understand the concepts that the original dev team came up with. 'Clash is a hate crime' is accurate lol it's so obviously coddling in order to reduce the number of stomps rather than fixing the fucking matchmaking which can't be fixed until they start pushing back on all their changes that thin the gap between different skill levels in non-aim skills. Flashpoint has so many problems that it's just as unsalvageable as Clash; those spawn points always forcing you to go past the losing team's spawn where they're literally invincible while also giving them a faster move time toward the next point is so disgusting. Push is the only competitively viable game mode they've added since we got OW2 in my opinion because you have to actually work an objective and there is actual thought process involved with it...but it's still pretty bad compared to what came before.
or just FPS game concepts period. Then again on second thought, I think I get what they were thinking with Clash an it really fits overwatch 2 players as a whole. It's a race to who can lose/throw first
unbelievable how they come up with clash game mode. im sure there is crazy toxic positivity going on in team 4. these damn incompetent snowflakes. push is the best ow2 mode. unless we go back to 6v6, push is the best mode in the game by far.

also on the juno thing, shes the sigma of support, she does everything. Her ult is also overtuned imo, it beats kiriko rush and nano, so effectively its a throw not to have juno right now simply for the ult fight. cool concept cool character needs some turn down
I’ve never played overwatch but that gamemode sounds so shit
weekly rant about a dead game
Daily claim of "dead game"
What's dead to you?
I liked 2cp i just thought the maps were too defender side advantaged
I have a question maybe someone can answer, I see a lot of overwatch content hating on the games design and gold players are always made fun of. Is there a specific reason it’s gold players that are made fun of rather than platinum/silver/bronze? Just a question bc i’ve noticed it a lot.
Pretty sure the vast majority of players are gold so it's always just the example that is used.
perfect video drop, got my dinner lets gooooooo
So push in terms of bad to worse it's flashpoint, clash and then push?
Clash is the worst
surprised by more pay to win style game options? I wish I could believe that this was an honest attempt to a new game mode, this seems like an easier way to rig games that's less apparent. Feels like every new "game change" blizzard does nowadays has some scummy agenda behind it. I don't believe anything they say for a fawking minute because taking skill away from players should be illegal and that seems to be the focus of this season, less skill, win game.
I like you, and your based takes. Unfortunately, you have chosen the wrong game
The thumbnail is confusing lol. O thought flashpoint was the worse lolz.
Don't play OW but enjoy the Greed videos.
Also what little I remember of ow1 that I played I really liked Banging my head on 2cp hahahahaha
I always dread clash its awful
nooice more smoosh detected keep up xD
Clash and push are great in my shit elo. They always end fast and that's what matters most, win or lose.
A 5-4 payload game is just 30 minutes of unbridled dog piss. Maps don't even matter really. It's just about which team has more brain dead heroes.
The yawnless vids lately have been fire.
Shit game.
just make them payload maps along with 2cp or just make another mode even worse than clash because why not
good video
Meanwhile I’m over here having fun with whatever non comp mode I decide to play or is chosen. Are some not great? Yeah. But either way, I’ve got real problems to worry about.
the gamemode is caca for rank 👍👍
New game mode design just proves that they don't understand the concepts that the original dev team came up with.
'Clash is a hate crime' is accurate lol
it's so obviously coddling in order to reduce the number of stomps rather than fixing the fucking matchmaking which can't be fixed until they start pushing back on all their changes that thin the gap between different skill levels in non-aim skills.
It's a race to who can lose/throw first
Not first but still here
I hate push so much
And clash should be just deleted
just quit bro, its deadlock time
PissPoor take
What did I say that was wrong?
unbelievable how they come up with clash game mode. im sure there is crazy toxic positivity going on in team 4. these damn incompetent snowflakes. push is the best ow2 mode. unless we go back to 6v6, push is the best mode in the game by far.
My comment
bro can u switch to another game spare us and ur self the head ache and upload some new content or something like the old aim advices or cs games or smth like that please
Nah complaining content is the new wave ⭐️
For real. This is why I mostly watch guys like Deemzies (omnic post) and continue to just have fun playing casual.
