A lot of modern cars won't accept throttle input with the main brakes applied. I suspect Jeff came off the main brakes enough that it finally allowed movement.

Ya’ll keep giving us heart stopping scares with some of these rescues!! I have never seen such crazy, narrow roads that are even crazier switchbacks than I’ve never experienced ( even having lived in Germany with some of their mountain roads)! The absolute nerves of steel you all have to have to navigate your truck up those roads and the genius solutions you use to get those vehicles out of their predicaments is amazing! Stay safe and thank you for taking us along for the ride!!
As pretty as all those holiday houses in the mountains are my heart can not handle those driveways. Id be forever telling my hubby to let me out and I'll walk.... My biggest fear is going over the edge, you all have courage that I do not have 🌸🐨🌸

We’re lifetime members of the Great Smoky Mountains Association now called Smokies Life and have stopped many people from littering, walking. Outside of the trails and parking where they’re not supposed to be. It’s frustrating 🤦🏻♀️
When she (Kristen?) was trying to make the car move, I'll bet she didn't have it in gear. Then Jeff hops in and puts the gear selector on that big ol "D" and it moves forward.

The National Park is just going to have to get much more aggressive with removing vehicles. Folks just don't give a rat's behind how they park or where. As far as red Chevy, who the heck leaves a car packed with possessions and keeps keys in ignition? My guess is someone who no longer needs possessions and a car. I realize some of the switchback type driveways are a challenge, but there are times when watching EA videos I wonder about some folks' driving skills. Great job EA Team! Be careful out there!

Bless all the park rangers up there. I would not have as much patience with people parking on that narrow road with the tail end of their rides left in the roadway. Great job on that white vehicle on the retaining wall. Wow, that lady was lucky.

That was a nail biter!!! Wow!! That gal in the white Chevy car was very lucky along with the other 1st recovery of that mini cooper. That could have been just as bad. As always excellent recovery! Now I have a good idea of what to expect when I finally come visit you guys and make a stop at the local National Park down there. My goodness what a beautiful park with an overwhelming number of illegally parked vehicles in a very dangerous way too! Now it’s making sense why you were not able to respond to my text message or call when I reached out to you the other day. Which is what I assume this is what you guys were doing at the time of my message. Regardless of that. GREAT Work and recovery! Lookin forward to the next video uploads to come!!

I see what the problem is!
I'd venture a guess that white van hung up on the retaining wall had active body roll control logic that was cutting power. For most vehicles if you press the button to turn traction control off and hold it down for 7-10 seconds it disables the anti-roll logic.

Mini coopers are not meant for offroad driving unless heavily modified . Nice quick recovery .

Just got back from my latest visit to the area. Two things struck me funny- one, that some people who want to hike miles along the trails are so hell bent on cramming their vehicles into illegal/dangerous spots in order to save a few steps to GET to the trail heads.
Then there was the red car with the tag that read "Pull-A-Part" on the front. Maybe a clue as to why it was abandoned?

To turn traction control off .... you turned it off but it didn't turn off all the way till you (the wife unit) parked it and he then went to drive again.....
I think the red car was hoping someone would steal it & take it off their hands, lol.
Naw they lived in that thing you can tell and it was a total dumpster fire, High quality people owned that pile of junk for sure.
