Sounds like the OTL is the one to get on stock turbo, and the STM on big turbo... and you need to change out the valvesprings like yesterday!

Glad to see I made a good choice in the OTL intercooler preorder, I may be getting a tune sooner than later since you all said valve float came in with just the intercooler and other bolt-on's.
I have the SXTH intake, OTL downpipe, RK Ti catback, and when OTL fulfills the preorder intercoolers I'll be installing that with their intercooler piping as well. Should be fairly close to your moms GRC so I'll hit you up about a tune soon.
Yeah with all those mods you definitely need a tune. The lower restriction intake and intercooler will definitely change the AFT enough to affect the car

Yeah we will always do updated stuff we have all our data and when we get another intercooler etc we can just go back and compare the findings

Now i also just found out that in the UK theres a 800hp GR yaris that i think you guys at Nemtec would be intrested in looking into.

That’s 800 break horse power so reality it’s around 700 horse power to the wheels. That car uses a crazy wild turbo kit but that car is all custom. Vs our car is using basically a bolt on kit with very little fabrication

Did you guys monitor coolant temps as a part of this testing to test differences? Specifically curious about that due to some of the taller intercoolers you tested potentially blocking up free flow of air across the radiator vs the stock FMIC, and warmer air flowing across the radiator as a whole.
Was the testing done with the bumper off? I wonder if that would change the temperature efficiency of the taller ones?
We did testing with the crash bar on so not really because the bumper only covers the crash bar part

@@NemtecRacing awesome! The taller intercooler seems like wasted space in theory because it’s tucked up under everything. But apparently it doesn’t affect it as much as I thought. Keep up the good work guys!
@@cpftank09 if you were running the larger intercooler you probably are gonna modify the front end for more air flow

I saw the PWR intercooler in the video but you guys didn't mentioned anything about it, what was the results ?
The OTL that you guys tested, that IC is THICK, did it increase air blockage to the radiator ? OTL reduced a lot in IAT but how about OT and WT ?
You think OTL piping along with the OTL intercooler be better or just use stock piping ?

You guys said valve float is that with a tune and intercooler or stock with intercooler. And is the OTL unit a bar and plate or tube and fin. I know the CSF is tube and fin.
we tested it with a tune and intercooler. but i wouldn't run one of these intercoolers without a tune. they are so much more efficient you'll risk changing AFR to much etc
My feelings from all the Yaris testing in Austraila... valve springs should be your 1st mod. If you don't, it's a ticking time bomb... even stock... could even be why that gr corolla burnt to the ground recently
Oh and how was the throttle response with the STM?
There was no change really
How do you know you had valve float in the high rpms? What parameters are you monitoring to see it?
You can hear it. And on the dyno graph you can see it

Did you have to do any custom plumbing with the "big boy" intercooler
No custom plumbing it fit very good with the pipes they sent. We didn’t have to trim some plastic
I think I am going to go for a custom air to water ic so I can have an icebox, have shorter piping, and flow more air

12:25 so you are saying if you get any of these intercoolers and don't get a tune you will run into valve float issue? so technically, they all require a tune to run safely if you are going to track your car, correct?

Yes sorry I should’ve made it more clear. We would recommend a tune to run an intercooler.
@@NemtecRacing Gotcha! Another thing I want to ask is that you said the test was done in your mom's CE. Did it have any other modifications during the testing (perhaps the down pipe and intake from previous videos) I'm asking because the baseline torque seems pretty high at 295.
I also noticed the peak boost was 29psi which is higher than a stock tune?
@@elantranyeah it’s on a car with intake, downpipe, tune and catback.
By baseline we meant “stock intercooler” vs aftermarket ones

Yeah you can do alittle pedal dance to disconnect them. We do it just cause it causes less wear on the drivetrain
Would the CSF intercooler fit the Yaris? Should work as a drop in no?
Ofta idk if it’d fit a Yaris that’d be risky. Cause I know the Yaris front end is alittle different
Pretty sure it doesnt. The Yaris's coolers dont fit the corolla
So only consider this....when you go big turbo. If you stay stock , and not tune the ECU....no valve float issues. But if you stay stock and use intercooler....still valve float issues?
Valve float on these cars is very simple. If you run above like 24lbs of boost past 6k rpm on the stock valve springs they will float
Dear colleague, please tell me, if I buy a GR Corolla, where should I start with tuning to achieve 400-450 horsepower and good suspension for driving on snow and gravel, aiming towards a WRC style rather than a racing car?
Lamspeed turbo kit with a Garrett g-25 550 turbo. Is what you’ll need to make 400hp.
Annex suspension is going to be coming out with a rally cross coil over soon.

What about the PWR intercooler? You guys have it on the bench, but not on the board.
It was terrible $1000 for something that acts like the stock intercooler
@@NemtecRacing That's horrible news because I already have the PWR intercooler installed on my GRC... Glad to see more options available now than when I went with the PWR. If it was your GRC, would you upgrade? just wondering... My applicable mods include LIMIT+1 downpipe, Eventuri intake, Ecutek 93 and E50 maps... plan to do springs, retainers, and Kelford EZ cam later down the road. Glad to see you made it to Crystal Lake and picked up the new GRC with the blown engine. Excited to see what's next!
@@JasonChurch1992I was in the same boat as you. I spent $1000 on pwr also….. if I were you yeah I would change it especially if your going to go more mods down the road. OTL is a good value for sure. Not sure weather the jackson racing has any real improvement over otl so kinda which ever one you fancy
Would I notice anything with a better intercooler without a tune?
Yes but intercoolers we recommend a tune. If your ever interested we sell tunes for $1200. Intercoolers are so much more efficient it might be unsafe to run an intercooler in without a tune for an extended period of time

Hello! Is there any solution for exhaust valve delete? I put a magnaflow exhaust and had some problems with the valve, so i get rid off the valve.
I already have a EcuTek tune, but cant delete the warning on the dash of not having the valve connected. Sometimes it appear depending on the throttle pull…
You have to have the valve plugged in and zip tie it up out of the way but it still need to actuate or you’ll still get the warning

Any of these bigger thicker and taller intercoolers have issues with radiator not getting good airflow and cause over heating being the radiator is behind it.
No they do not. we've had one on a yaris for a year now and we don't have issues with coolant heat at all

@@SethKnowsyes look up race car he Yaris’s i buy parts from people who race Yaris’s and there intercoolers are not the source of heat

What no SXTH inter cooler?
Sxth didn’t send us one and we have a few customers logs that show it’s definitely better than stock but not as good as OTL and such similar price seems like the OTL one is better deal
I wonder how the sxth would hold up against these.
Sxth is a little bit worse than the OTL
How much do they weigh?
Jackson racing is like 9lbs, OTL is like 11lbs and stm is around 14lbs
Why not test the 6xth element one? That one is affordable as well.
It’s better than stock but isn’t as good as the OTL one
I have the SXTH element intercooler what the performance and that unit.

I got the SXTH because CSF or OTL wasn’t out yet. Is it worth upgrading the SXTH intercooler to a CSF or OTL or is the SXTH is good enough for a daily driver. The thing I like about the SXTH it’s durable i do a lot of highway driving the stock one was getting dinged up SXTH doesn’t get any rock dings and it seems better than stock. I wish you guys tested it to see the numbers. They claim it performs 20 degree drop over stock intercooler which isn’t as good as CSF or OTL. BTW love the videos keep doing them. I’m a big supporter of the platform and you guys.

For $1500 you would expect some nicer welding. Maybe just the 'prototype' but the close ups look like a welding students first project.
Dang makes me kinda regret preordering the jackson racing intercooler 🥲 but at least it’s a huge upgrade from stock! I’m getting turbo inlet, charge piping and a BOV next. What brands would you recommend? I’m plan on getting SXTH element piping and stuck in between HKS and turbosmart for the BOV
Honestly BOV is kinda a waste. We never ran one on ours until we got the turbo smart one for the big turbo. And the jackson racing intercooler is very good intercooler so your all good
