I own a 2016/17 GT premium. Herod supplied ceramic coated headers, billet oil gears and cooler and billet timing gear with 20kw tune. No tick or knock at all.
I picked up the Mach 1 for less than 60k brand new, after all fees. Couldnt imagine paying $80k+ for a coyote. A lot of part sharing with the GT500 on the Mach 1 so presumably the same with the dark horse, but after tax and fees $85k financed at these rates is insane. The Mach 1, and DH are great vehicles and I've already seen track time, but the price is not appealing at all.
No... I'm wondering if you know what piston slap is and what causes it. There's at least a dozen Dark Horse videos of these same Mustangs on U-Tube. There was no tics other than possibly the direct injection noise that these type of engines no matter the brand makes. My modded 5.7 Hemi makes more ticking noise than a Coyote
Well don't buy one then or get a used one. It's well worth it. These engines/powertrain etc are overengineered in every way. With good basic maintenance they last ya forever. Hence all the older Stangs around. Its solid investment vs most other sports cars 💯
I think most of what you're paying for is the transmission and suspension upgrades stuff you probably wouldn't care about if you don't go to the track. If you're actually trying to build a car like this, you can't do it cheaper with a new GT and aftermarket, especially if you want the carbon fiber wheels, which are stupidly expensive if you buy them alone.

They won’t. Even the 550 was struggling to keep up in sales with mopar. Anyone paying 60k for a non Shelby mustang is insane. Just a few years ago you could get the v8 for 26-30k. These prices are absurd.
I’m not a Ford fan usually but WOW! Inside and out, great in design. Would consider this car just for the exhaust. Oddly the one thing that makes it cheap looking is the steering wheel center cap…..Crazy huh?
Blue ember looks almost like a dark purple here, love it. I know its a dark horse exclusive now, but hopefully it comes to the otjer trims in the future.

Just thought the same exact thing when I saw the grabber blue. I love the blue ember but that grabber omg. Although the benefit is that the blue ember is exclusive to the dark Horse and it is not available to any other vehicle in Ford’s line up. Also I always said if ford came out with a color changing vehicle like mystic chrome i would order one. I’ve already had the grabber blue. I think this vehicle with how aggressive it is needs to be a darker color very menacing.
I honestly wish these were pushrod V8's !!! The sound of a Dodge Challenger is more deeper and like bassy if that makes sense. This DOHC V8 sounds more airy, raspy and just lacks tone like a pushrod. Also that coyote tick got worse too lol 🤔
Your not going to believe me but on this day 05/17/23 I just ordered My Dark Horse Premium. 6 months maybe a little longer because of the Carbon Fiber Wheels. $8,995 extra. BTW no dealer mark up over MSRP. My sixth car from this dealership. That could be the reason

For that anount of money i would figure that the tires would be bigger, magna ride would be standard etc. 315 rear tires should be standard on a 59k mustang.
This video swayed me on the ember blue a bit. Still not sure how i feel about the purples in it, and i do wish they would have gone with a darker color shift, but the darker shades look reaally good in this video. Have to see it in person before i can pick a color
All other mainstream automakers except Chevy/Dodge (for now) have watered dwn yet still expensive vehicles (horrible new Supra w/bimmer engine). Kudos to Ford for continued investment in there iconic Mustang! I'm surprised you can still order a 2SS 1LE; great car but I saw the Darkhorse with the performance package at the Barret-Jackson Auction and it is legit ( this is coming from a 21' Scat WB Challenger owner ); they're both great cars but the Camaro is better value. The Darkhorse WILL turn heads though..........

As a mustang enthusiast that has owned several. I'm not spending upwards of $79k on a pony car. Simply isn't happening. Not when GM has a mid engine corvette that is an absolute monster for less. Yes I know the mark ups are still a thing but compared to a mustang you're shopping in GT350 range. Which is a hell of a car. A flat plane crank V8. Or a 14 GT500 with that predator motor. Both absolutely stunning cars. The looks also don't bound over the previous generation. I think the S550 looks way sportier. This looks... muted. Domestic.
I do not like the fact that half the fourth-generation Coyote GT/Dark Horse engine is under the dash and cowl vent panel. That will make it a lot more difficult to access for full tune-up, repairs, and upgrades.
Call me old school maybe but it’s just a damn 5.0 at shelby gt350 prices. Very very overpriced in my opinion. I’m a die hard mustsng fan but no way I would let my shelby go for this. 🤷♂️
I kind of wish there was a PP2 GT. Aside from that, I think the base Dark Horse is the best Mustang. The premium differences are small and while I like the handling pack, it will be a nightmare to get tires for in 5 years.
Ford needs an affordable Mustang around 65-67K, that's in between the GT Premium, and the GT500, that is Supercharged to around 650 Horsepower.... something to run against the Camaro ZL1 and the C7 corvette.

I'd rather get the tweako-boost and then do the appearance package. That 5.0 engine sounded broken
MSRP is way too high imo. If the engine and trans can be tuned, I would buy a GT 10 speed an mod it (Whipple, tune etc.)
