I heard a story when they played in a town next to mine. After the show in an ancient abbey, they had several (I mean SEVERAL) drinks, and the police had to stop them running after each other playing music all around the cloister of the abbey for hours, because the hospital next door had complained. And the day after that, they were in the bus ready to go to the next gig. The point of that story, I mean, is that even when partying they're "working"
Heh...when I marched a Sr corps in 2003, the staff wanted the brass line to do a modern jazz run while playing. The problem was, all of us were 70s, 80s, and early 90s DCI guys, and we said in NO uncertain terms that it wasn't gonna happen!
The kids I taught last week: "Pfff playing a song while marching is sooooooo hard!" This guy: *plays while getting slammed into ragdoll mode in slow motion*
You know whats really crazy is that i cant find ANY version of "the lonely shepherd" like this. They made an awesome completely original version of an already awesome song, for a comedy bit.
They write most of the songs they play, even if it's just a cover I think. Makes sense though in my opinion to arrange it for the exact setup your band has instead of just doubling voices or stuff like that
One year to the day, a great hero posted this comment and strode off on their trusty mule. We never got their name, or even where they were headed. From this day forward the hero was dubbed: *”The Lonely Shepherd”*
Der mit der Glatze guckt immer wie ein Dämon! Klasse Darbietung, ich liebe die Jungs! Herumhüpfen und auch noch ein Blasinstrument spielen... das ist Können!!!
I have watched this several times before and am more amused every time. It is much like watching Victor Borge. You know what's coming but it makes no difference, it is funny anyway. I do not expect a great percentage of the watching public knows or understands just how good these guys are playing there instruments.
so impressive that they can play that smoothly while jumping up and down! marching is hard enough
You ought to hear the Kyoto Tachibana band. They can do it too. I never could. Hats off to these guys.

Outstanding. My opinion.. The best musical compositions came from Italian westerns. They still hit me in the feels musically to this day in 2023.
