    Okay as a special effects makeup artist little tip. Please know that these little tiny bottles of liquid latex for nails are super overpriced. Now I understand people dont plan to use a lot so thats why these little bottles are convenient, however a bottle for half an ounce is $6-10 depending on where you get it from, a special effects makeup bottle of liquid latex for 16 ounces (which i know most of you wont need, but there are smaller size bottles) is roughly $10. and around halloween time most stores with halloween costumes will have these bottles and if you wait for them to go on sale itll be even cheaper.
    I have used my regular special effects makeup latex all these years and it works just the same :)

      As an MUA and nail tech, I agree lol. It’s crazy to me how many things we’ve been using for years and years, that become popular because of TikTok or whatever, and some company decides to capitalise on it by making it into its own “product” lol.
      When I worked at a TV studio, to get rid of flyaways or secure whispies without pins or spray, I used spoolies (disposable mascara wands). It prevents the client/guest’s hair from getting too sticky with hairspray or having visible pins.
      Imagine my horror to see an ad on social media for “the magic flyaway tool!” - it was £10/$13. It was literally a spoolie. That’s it. 😂😂😂😂😂 And all the comments were like “WOW I need this!”, all tagging their friends 😭 I’m like “no - no you don’t”.

    I'm a dentist and we use something called PTFE tape all the time. It's really useful for putting on an adjacent tooth to the one being restoring with say composite (very similar material to builder gel I guess and you light cure it) to stop it bonding to the tooth next to it. And then you just floss the tape off. I think it would work really well for protecting the skin around the nails too

    My mother has a severely damaged big toe nail (checked out by doctors) and our plan was to make her a fake nail. We talked about the possibility of developing an allergy and she was ok with the risk, so I ordered your hybrid gel. I was still concerned (she's my mom after all) about causing an allergy due to the amount of exposed skin I'd have to to put the gel on. I have liquid latex from Holo Taco and it didn't occur to me that it would be the perfect thing to use. Thankfully, my mom doesn't have a latex allergy. If she ends up developing one, I also have the non latex nail aprons I could try.

Once they grew out over the skin, I continued getting clear powder nails done to stop my biting. Just a little tip that might help you so you don’t have to wonder how she’s doing, I always offer a free mini Mani 7 to 10 days after I do a nail bitten client. Please don't do this. Latex allergies are even more common ones than to the nail products. You can cut the forms but in the different ways. You cut into both sides a bit. Idk how to explain. This method is very common in my country (Poland) so I bet you can see this method on some Polish nail youtube (like quloo channel for example). This way allows you to cover all the skins and get into each corner. And it's very quick when you master it.

    I lost my thumb nail due to an injury and now it's about 2 thirds grown back. I've been looking for a way to do my nails for a wedding and I'm going to try this.
    I love how Grant's nail turned out.

    I've been a nail biter my entire life. I just decided to teach myself to use forms since nobody around my area uses them. Tips always popped off of my nubby fingers, but forms are 100% the way to go.

    One concern Susie, you need to make sure the client has no latex allergies and you need to have an alternative for those that do or you can maybe cut a piece of your little center sticky of the form out to cover the skin like the latex did. I don't know if that would work or not

    • @qt_stacy
      @qt_stacy Год назад +8

      i can almost guarantee she knows this however i think it would’ve been nice for her to mention definitely. however i don’t believe she even takes clients like that anymore, anyway. she probably has a very limited and exclusive client list considering her main income comes from content creation

    • @Madtigres
      @Madtigres Год назад +3

      @@qt_stacy You can't know that she earns most of her income from RUclips. I believe she still works in a salon because she says Grant is one of her oldest clients, and she may still make most of her income in her salon or training new nail technicians. If you watch some of her other videos she brings nail technicians that work in her salon and do their nails for her videos at times. I love the idea of the liquid latex, I just thought it would be safe and right to mention that she forgot to recall that in this video. Thank you so much for your pleasant approach to what you say to me. I appreciate that it is not aggressive or argumentative. And if you find what I have said to be any of those please let me know. I can be very blunt and to the point without meaning to be rude I come off as rude. I speak from a place of love for everyone because that is what my God and my savior the Lord Jesus Christ require of me. I also come from a place of love because everyone on this Earth deserves to know that they are loved. It's not a job to me it's something I enjoy doing. With that I say I love you, I hope you stay safe and be blessed.

    I really enjoyed your video..I am an ex-nail biter, I’m 50 now and managed to stop biting my nails over 6 years ago now. I can’t deal with biting them anymore & I sometimes have acrylic or polygel nails, but I haven’t got any on atm. If they do get a bit long, I cut them down and file them. My nails when I was biting them used to get the point where they were bitten down so short it was horrendously painful, what made me stop was the pain it caused me & also how embarrassed I was in a shop when buying things and handing money to the cashier 🙈🙈It took me 44 years to stop but I did it!!
    It’s lovely that you are not judgemental to nail biting. Or people who bite their nails, it’s such a tough habit to break for sure ❤❤

    I Really Really Thank you for having this Nail biting education. My sister sticks her fingers in her mouth ALLLLL the time. I know she bites her nails. She states she is biting the skin. Either way she has very flat nails and extremely thin and her nails look like Grants just not as bad. I struggle with nails staying on her and I hope you make more videos like these!! Grant is very much like my sister and her nails are sensitive. My sister is very picky and you mentioned that everything that might be an irritant she will stick in her mouth. I am going to try that method. I have also just 2 weeks ago just decided to do acrylic overlay just on her natural nails and so far Great success. As you stated she then becomes use to her nails growing and I am still keeping my fingers crossed we continue to have success. I am doing her nails again after a week and a half and still on with some lifting. But she is still biting (her skin) she says. I will try the latex method if we have to start over. I am hoping the acrylic overlay did the trick. Thank you Thank you Thank you for having a video like this. I think if you can achieve putting any type of product on a nail biter's nails you will have success with ALL Types of nails. Nail biters are the most extreme and I believe the most difficult and pickiest and roughest, challenging and worst clients to have. But on the upside of those types of people you can problem solve you start finding products that you think will work and that it doesn't matter in the end it does the same and the same cause and effects happen. You end up finding methods that work. I need more Grant videos and I hope he and you work on more problems solving with nail biting techniques or tricks. I can't stop praising you on making this video I have struggled with my sister's nails and she wants nails and they fall off in 1-3 days after just having them put on. I LOVE this type of Nail Education. Just the overlay I thought of and like I said so far so good. Which makes me happy! Thank you so very much Grant. Susie and I can't forget Cameraman for making suck an EXQUISITE nail education video! I really want to see more of Grant and nail biting techniques and hopefully a follow up after it grows out to see what problems if any occurred during the grow out.

      You’re right they can be picky. I think it’s because they want the end result to look like somebody who does not have bit nails. So not they strive for that perfection. And to my knowledge, the reason why people bite nails is because their perfectionists. So naturally, they would be picky when it comes to their nails LOL

    I'm not a nail biter, but from polygel nails popping off, they have shortened my natural nail past the end of my finger. I have returned to doing acrylic on my nails. NEVER did I have my acrylic nails, just POP off!

    Great thought Suzie! My only concern would be latex allergies. I myself have them but I could wear gloves if I was using it on clients however many people do have latex sensitivities which is why most if not all hospitals have switched to Nitrile gloves rather than latex based. New Suzie product…non latex finger protector lol.

    I'm so glad you did this because I had a mishap with my nails while removing my polygel nails. I over filed and so now my nails are SUUUPER thin and horribly short. I NEED to put something on my nails, even if it's just to protect them. I bought some of that Silicone stuff to do exactly what you had just done, but I wasn't sure how or if it was actually going to work...now I know😊 So THANK YOU so very much for this video and it's perfect timing LOL

    Just watching this video has answered so many questions I've had. I've been a nail biter for over 50 years. I recently has some nail applied and no one could explain why I have a angle on them. Now I know why. I've been thinking the person who did my nails didn't do them right. So thank you so very much.
    What can I use to strengthen my nails because they're so thin. If I try growing them they break or tear. I appreciate any help you may offer.

    Am a training nail tech in uk, I done a real bad nail bitters nail with builder gel and tips. I kept the tips extremely short as they don’t like long nails but I did feel unhappy at the end because they look very wide a clumpy, it’s good to know that’s a common thing until the nail bed grows more! Now I feel better 😅
