How To Fix A Severely Bitten Nail | Back to Basics Ballerina Sculpt
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 сен 2024
- Hi,
Today we've filmed by Back to Basics course so I have Cheryl as my model. Cheryl has a problem with picking at her nails and the ring finger is really bad, she's asked me to sculpt a nail out for her and because she's a nail technician and knows how to look after it, I've agreed. I would not do this on a new client or someone you don't trust to get regular infills and be careful with the nail. I'm doing a ballerina nail for this one.
I hope you enjoy this video, don't forget to like and subscribe.

This woman is so damn fascinating and photogenic. I don’t even paint my nails with regular polish but I’m here glued to the screen while she talks about short bitten nails. Which I don’t have either haha.. but she’s so captivating. And I say this after binging MANY Naio & Kirsty videos. 😻 I really appreciate a woman being bold and doing her thing. Incredible talent 💚✌🏼
She’s AMAZING!!!! I could watch her ALL day!!!
"You don't need to hold my finger that hard" LOL my clients tell me that all the time. Glad I'm not the only one ;)
Nathalie Landry omg me too. I kinda always suffocated my poor nieces fingers when I first started off, I kinda still do it tho without noticing 😓😅
+1)
I do think u get the corners better thou.. worse when you barely have nails.. lol
When I used to get my acrylic nails done as a nail biter it hurts way more if you loosely hold the nail during filing at the end, since the nail is weak and fragile it feels like it’s pulling it off with the file 🥴
Poor Cheryl I feel so sorry for her. Not that Kirsty is hurting her, just that she bites her nails so badly. I used to bite my nails like that when I was in high school I remember making them bleed but still wouldn't stop biting them.
I’m a nail biter but Not that bad 😢 I know it hurts
You're 41??? Shut the back door!!! I thought you were about 27!!! Xxx
That surprised me too!
I thought she was in her early 30s at most.
Botox, lip fillers, caked on makeup does help
simone nz it helps but that’s not the only reason she looks young
She look 50 wow
I won't add any comment on how old she looks or not, because I'd need to see her face to face to have an opinion, but with everything she's done to her face, she no longer looks natural and that's just never good ... makes me sad because I think she must have been quite a beauty before all the transformation
I love it! An award winner doing an award winners nail!! This is the best!
I love how cheerful you are. Thanks for another very informative video....
Thank you so much for this series of videos, literally going back to basics.
Thank you for sharing this with us. I love learning and watching videos. Are you out of lockdown? I am in lockdown till I have surgery in April. I am so happy for all the videos. Please stay safe.
She reminded me of someone.... Fay? 😄😄😄 By the way first to comment!!!
Ohh cheeky Adam haha 🙈 new camera man time i think Kirsty lol. Yet again another brill video x
Is there any special treatment or care the client can do (oil or conditioner?) to help their nail heal whilst it grows?
Adam is so funny is that why you can't keep a boyfriend 😂 on another note very informative video! Thank you!
Lol, glad you commented this. I couldn't hear what he said but I had a feeling it was something along those lines! 😂😂
41. And you look amazing 😍 thank you for this video I have a cracked nail and I want to put a nail back on. But it is half the size of a normal nail.. nail bed is separated from nail plate. What should I do?
Hi
I like everything you do and how to explain.
I would like to know what you would recommend to me for a nail that was caught on the door and then the nail fell out.
Now half of the nail is uneven and thin, and the other half is just a little hard skin.
I'm not a professional, but I do my only manicure. *_*
Loved this!🖤💜
I love that you choose a country hillbilly accent when you do an American accent. Lol
Skin picker here, too!
Great job 👏. Off the subject, I love those mermaid leggings and I want to know where I can get some please 😁
I wouldn't have though she was 41 she looks good
Arrasou
I’m from New Orleans
Beautiful💕 What brand of nail forms do you use??
They're on amazon, pink nail forms
Beautiful as usual. Is your model taking sassy lessons from Faye? 😁
I love this girl videos I don't miss one😍😍😍but did you just blow on her nail?
You ARE NOT 41!!!!!
Were did u get the brush from? Xx
OK please tell me please in this length how can be 4 weeks long lasting? I never do on bitten nails so long extensions
I felt pain
Can you do longest nail live
I used to chew my nails, until I started wearing acrylics... about 27-28 years ago 😳
I’m glad Cheryl said that when an actual client walks in with a nail like that, you wouldn’t make that extension this long 🤣 I was watching and all the way through i was wondering; isnt that extension way too long for a short nail like that? 👀🤣. Love ya Kirsty!!
Sanne Vos tbh I was here because I acc want to do my nails this long myself and have a bitten nail so yeah some clients may want it like that 😂
And it’s useful to know it’s doable
I had this problem with a toenail after banging it. I HAD to have something to protect the nail bed where I lost the nail and I had about ¼ of my nail left so I tried it. I had to infill and file every week for 6 months before I had the courage to remove the acrylic for a look. That nail had grown in so beautifully that I now have to slip a light layer of acrylic over the other toenails so they all look good together because that one looks like acrylic when it's bare!
Do you think this would work on my husband he has a crack half way down and the nail always falls off it wasn't like that before until he ran into our door and stumped his toe
@@moniquegonzales9191 try it and tell us.
Hi sweety. I love your video's so much and I am learning so much. I am 61 years old and trying to learn again. And you are my best teacher. Better than the lessons I get from internet school over here in the Netherlands.
And above that you make me smile. And in these times every smile counts.
Lots of love Yvonne
I have a strong grip too. My mom has multiple sclerosis so the filing process sends vibrations that feel like electrical zaps to her so gripping hard reduces the sensation but I'm so used to holding tightly my daughter complains that I hold her fingers to hard...lol
Cheryl is such a sport! I do love her honesty and personality.
I used to bite my nails just as bad as Cheryl. I had acrylic nails put on in effort to break the habit. It worked! That was 30 years ago.
Me too! So glad I did it!
Wow really. I got acrylics put on and my nail bitting was that bad I chewed the actual acrylic nail off. Glad it worked for you
Cheryl is a great model and it was very nice of her to show that even a nail tech can be a nail biter. It made me cringe a bit when Kirsty was going around the cuticle because I know when I was biting my nails and skin around the nail my cuticles were always sore.
Bless her Cheryl sounds like the a ‘back to basics’ Fay. Great video, loved it ❤️
Why did you put the form so far away from her nail? I thought you should put it right up against the nail, but you’ve got a good amount of skin between the form and the nail.
Is this because the extension would be too far up with the side walls and such if you put it back up against the nail?
Thanks for doing these back to basics videos, I’ve been enjoying them and absorbing all the tips and tricks 😊💖
I, too, have learned more from Kirstey than school in the U.S. This nail is ridiculously long. Bad, dangerous choice. Cheryl is ridiculous.
Im absolutely in love with the dragon scale leggings on the girl with the black "Be Kind" t-shirt behind you. Hard to focus on nails because now I just want to know where I can buy those at🤣🤦🤦🤦
Sheri S I think it's more of a mermaid, right? 👀
Same here. And I love what is written on her Shirt.
you can get them at blackmilk for example, but they're currently sold out..
blackmilkclothing.com/mermaid-leggings
try googling for "mermaid leggings" you'll find loads :)
Exactly you're right. My focus was there too. Quote is beautiful on the tee. Love the leggings too. 😍
lol very correct
I too have a strong grip on my clients 😂 I try not to hold their finger so tightly but I just can't help myself.
I have a condition where my nails grow like paper, it's a variety of ehlers danlos syndrome.
I use acrylic to protect my natural nails and it is so good. They're healthier than they have ever been, and if I do damage one, I just need to use short acrylics to act as armour til it heals up.
Wait someone else has this problem? My finger nails are think like paper on most fingers and so soft and they get flaky? Like the layers don't stick together. O have given myself papercuts with my nails a lot.
They are so soft I can't evwn keep nailpolish or gel or acrylic on because it just comes off because my nails are so soft.
I somehow believed it was my diet or something and I'm always nervous getting my nails done since it only last like a week or 2 on me
I don't have EDS but I also have suuuuuper thin nails. Once lockdown started my fingers were killing me for weeks because I had bitten time down so much to the point where I learned how to do my own.
I have the same issue! I've tried acrylics but I think I'm allergic so I'm on to Polygel overlay now but my fingers are itching again. 😣
Omg I would just be grateful Kirsty was doing my nail 😣
Right im watching the video like come on suck it up and shut up 😊
19:34 Why would she wait AFTER Kirsty was done with her nails to say "yeah, should have done a short almond nail." Well how tf was she gonna know? She can't read your mind. I'm not hating or anything im just saying she should of said something while kirsty was forming the nail.🤷🏽♀️
I had a pinky nail that acquired a fungus-- on my non-dominant DISPLAY HAND, no less. I was afraid to do anything to it but polish it to hide the fungus until RUclips nail tech Sarah Burchett showed her mother-in-law's nail that had the same white fungus I had. She was putting clear hybrid gel on the nail and watching it for any changes. It didn't change a thing with her MIL's nail fungus over months, so I put clear hybrid gel on my nail with the fungus and watched it closely. A month later I filed all my nails down to do a fill, but I didn't quite get to the one with the fungus before bed time. Overnight I broke that pinky nail off, halfway down my nail bed, and didn't even feel it! The next day I noticed what had happened. The whole part of the nail that had the fungus had broken off. Now it's been a couple of months and my nail is now growing past it's natural free edge, and get this: THE FUNGUS IS GONE!!! It broke off with the nail! It seems that the near-constant alcohol cleaning of the nail bed that I did while the nail was growing out seems to have cured the fungus! I still can't believe it!
I dont even do nails but I love watching your channel . You're insanely talented!
Cheryl's been getting tips off Fay 😂
She has such a soothing tone to her voice that I'm sitting here like all warm and cozy and dozing off. Not that I'm not enthralled in this video, just that her voice is really calming to me. Then she screams and I'm like,"oh F$#@! Nope I wasn't sleeping! you're sleeping! 😝😂👌♥️💁♀️
Will you please put what drill bit you use in the description box? I've asked in the last 3 videos that I've watched
It’s called a proximal fold bit and she sells it on her website...not naio nails but her actual website
@@lisathompson5852 Thanks. I was talking about the one with the diamond in the end
Yesss!
Glad you have older footage to keeps us educated & more importantly entertained, thanks Adam.
Hope you are both keep safe and well at home.
I've watched for ever! Last week I ordered everything I need to pamper my mother with acrygel extensions with vibrant gel colours. My mum is a cook in a school and cannot have nails usually. Now she is off work & on lockdown she will be my guinea pig.
Once I've tortured her with my practising I'll do it on myself 😆
Tell her she has bitten or picked her nail bed into a nub and she is complaining about a vise grip????? How does a person not feel that?
SO this finger nail right here is how all of my nails looked about 4 month ago. I had to hope that with good care I could regrow them all thye way out and I have. so I had struggled with nails exactly like hers for MONTHS and not becu of biting but because I repeatedly ripped off my acrylic nails, so don't do that. Now that I can expertly do acrylic I know how to properly soak off my nails and/or leave the nails and just do a fill. The only thing that is different is my poor nails are NOT the same as before they were damaged, by me. they are thin and a bit brittle, and sensitive but luckily not as sensitive as these nails look, because trust me her nails are painful.... you pretty much NEED an extension or at least protective barrier so the nail can grow without more harm being put onto it. So the lsson is ladies, don't bite your nail (get that nasty NO BITE polish, my bf got it and his nails look great, he was biter) and DO NOT, under any circumstance rip offf your acrylic nails, if they need to come off soak them in 1000000% ACETONE, over and over if need be, then lightly buff the rest off … put a protective/ strengthener polish on and cuticle oil and you'll be good....
this long ass comment was to say I feel for this lady because believe it or not a nail that looks like that is VERY PAINFUL. you do everything with your fingers so you constantly are re-hurting yourself
Kirsty, a good grip is an admirable attribute to have. 😃.
If she's an award winning nail stylist why does she bite her nails down to that degree? She knows better.
I have an autoimmune disease and it makes my nails suuuuuper thin and they peel and break allllll the time super far back and I’ve recently started experimenting with different types of nail product to do exactly what she was saying about the nail recovery. And started using cuticle oil because of your videos and it’s insane how much it helps. I’ve gone my whole 27 years haaaaaating my cruddy nails and your videos help me so much. Who would have known taking care of your nails is actually important!!?!
As a lifelong nail and skin biter, I had no idea it was self harm. Wow. Interesting. Now I am growing my nails and learning to leave my skin alone. It's wonderful and I feel like my hands are much prettier and more elegant.
i’m a junior nail tech so my mum gets her nails done all the time and she says i grip really hard aswell!! i just can’t help it lol
I'm not trying to critique, I'm just trying to learn, but I see you place the form in such a way that exposes some of the skin in front of the bitten nail to the acrylic application, I was just wondering if there would be any potential issues with doing that?
Katherine Gongora there shouldn’t be. It just means the acrylic will detach from there due to the natural finger oils.
bravo super magnifique 👍👍👍👏👏👏💅💅💅😙❤👄👄🇫🇷🇫🇷
Ballerina sounds so much better than coffin
Very helpful Mrs. Kirsty and wow what a transformation you did an amazing job luv thanks for sharing and showing much love always xoxo 💅💕💕💕
Definitely need to get the biege. The natural looks so milky and clear 🙁
💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
What did Adam say?????? That wasn't nice
No you picked the right accent lol! I’m American and when you did it I cracked up!! ♥️ thanks for keeping me entertained doll!!
When does the skin at the tip of the finger become detached from the acrylic placed on it?
Doesn't take long. That's also why you shouldn't get acrylic or gel around the cuticle area
here’s my thinking she’s in her late 20’s 😳
I dont chew mine but the break off and tear off on strips... my nails are very thin and i can only have them not hurt with tips nail silks and uv builder gel i do myself right now....i was doing dipping powder at a salon before Covid-19 ...why do these salons insist on grinding your hails down?...mine are too thin already ..doesnt primer help it adhere better than grinding?
What kind of powder are you using?
What efile does Kristy use ?
You look fantastic, ...do don’t look like you age at all!!
I love how non- judgemental Kirsty is 🧡 She creates such an open atmosphere.
I am surprised she didn't use silk first before going into acrylic, like in previous video?
I love watching Kirsty do the nail thing. LOVE the videos. But please, please, I'm begging you guys, after all of this time and these videos, can you please give her a mic on her shirt or something, so that when she is super quiet we don't have to turn the sound super high only to turn it way down 2 seconds later when it's LOUD. THANK YOU!!!
uña s de la mañana de la vida de
It Is amazing I’m only 6 and I’m watching it I want to be your suns friend Your videos is so much fun 🥰😇😇😇😇
This is why I decided to learn because I was too embarrassed to get my nails done. Or no one would want to do my nails. 👍🏽
Love this vid, was great having others in there asking questions that we ask as we are watching via RUclips haha
Anyone else’s autio going in and out
bravo super magnifique gros bisous Martine 👍👍👍👏👏👏💅💅💅👄❤😙🇫🇷
hey Kristy this is babygirl81 and I just wanted to tell you I love your you tube Channel Awesome stuff would you have any advice for me in interested in starting me a RUclips channel
nail biting is such a horrible thing ... many people say that acrylic or gel nails aren't healthy and bad for the natural nail (which isn't true at all by the way, un less you do have a bad nail technician), but I think that what nailbiters do to their nails is much much worse, just look at that nail at the beginning of the video ... 🙈🙈 I hope that this nail will have time to heal
This is how my nails look. But it's not from chewing...its from ripping my acrylics off with nippers 😬😬😬
How the hell did she rub her face like that and none of her make up moved?! Need her setting spray ASAP
I want those scissors she used to trim the form. Does anyone know which ones are those? Brand? Where to get it?? Please help 🙏🏻
Can someone explain to me why they said gel would burn? I'm not a nail tech just curious.
I struggled so much during quarantine without having my nails done. I suffer from Anxitiy and I've always been a nail AND skin biter! Thank heavens, I've been able to have them done recently. So I feel for Cheryl, I know how she feels!
I would like to see how it looked underneath the nail! I want to see if it’s rounded or if it’s touching the skin.
To just think that was only 3 months ago. I want those times back sooooo nuch!
You have to hold the finger tight. To support the nail and so the client doesn't move it! Strange to tell a seasoned nail tech that their technique is wrong
😂😂 I'm told I have a vice grip too. Some of my clients would deff start to call me that if they saw this.
I totally agree with how you decide if you would apply the extension on bitten nails.
Was this filmed recently?
Awhile ago
I think they film at least a month in advance, maybe 2 months.
My fiancé has nails like this but the chances of him trying to fix it or stop biting his nails are non existent 😭
Endearment The Doe same it looks terrible tho :((
The form fit did not help the nail because you sculpted her finger tip instead of the smile line???
What a talented lady you are, I'm learning so much from your videos, thanks for keeping me sane with all your ideas that I'm trying, especially in this crazy time, stay safe 🙏
Where did you get that adorable unicorn brush????
I didn't know she was 41! I seriously though she was half her age
Iam love your Video more when you speak deutsch inot anderstand you 🙄
An incredible transformation Kirsty! Wow! Bravo!! 👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you for sharing this! 😍
OMG! I need my nails fixed. I do bite them gggrrr😞
42!? I thought you were like 29 or 35 at most 😳 wow! 🥰
It looks so much better just cleaned and filed!,,,,
