I love square nails, too! And so do 19 others, as of this moment. They look really fresh now that we've had years and years of only seeing stiletto, almond and ballerina shapes, or the _really_ unnatural looking weird ones like edge, pipe and wing shapes. Square nails have been my favorite shape since I got my first set of nails almost 40 years ago, and I don't think that's going to change any time soon.
Im actually really glad they’re coming back into style. I feel like from like 2016 until a little bit ago no one was wearing square. Only coffin and almond or stiletto. But square is so flattering on all hand shapes
@@calichef1962 omg don't even get me started on the duck bill shape that was so popular for a while. Everytime I see Teresa Caputo's (long island medium) nails, I want to scream lol. They are so ugly! Like you, the very first set of nails I got were square. I've had all different shapes (except quack quack nails 🤣) but I always come back!
for me square is an all-time favorite. i've tried stiletto, almond, round (gosh, this one was so ugly on me), coffin.. but i always go back to square. best structure, best looking shape
I’m so glad square is coming back into style! It used to be all I would get until like around 2015, I feel like no one was wearing it anymore. Coffin and stiletto took over but I feel like my hand shape doesn’t work with anything but square. IMO it’s the most universal shape for everyone! It looks good in all lengths too
@@gigi-nk8qs Ramsay is nice too. See him interact with kids. Hes mean when he goes up against ignorant owners who think theres nothing wrong with their food.
Hello, I am a customer of urs plus I follow Kirsty since ever. My question is: would you do a video on which essential do u have on nail desk, how do u organize ur desk as inspiration, which position and/or distance do u use between u and client, do u use support for client arms etc.. questions like this I think could help to organize in better and efficient way or just give some ideas. Thanks
Where I live I cant even get a salon to use a damn form! Other salons I've been to, I literally have to demand a form! They will either tell me they just dont use forms, only tips, or try n tell me why tips are better. which I know is BS cuz I do nails myself. But once in a while I'd like to have some one else do them, and do a decent job. Dont have to be perfect, I'm not one of those people (Fay! Lol) But let alone have I EVER IN MY LIFE had ANYONE customize my form! Ever! For kirsty to customize that form, and take her time that just amazes me! It amazes me to watch and see how much pride she takes in her work! I love it! I would LOVE to have her do my nails just once. Until then I will just do my own. I give up on finding even a decent salon or tech anywhere half way close to where I live (i wouldnt even care to drive a ways, a ways outta my way) i finally found a nail tech the last place I lived, after going to several, and i LOVED HER SO MUCH! and we moved, across the country from her. I would almost drive it to have her do my nails. Lol. My husband wont let me. Maybe I will luck up and eventually find one where I live now, or a little closer.
I’m looking to learn to do my own!!! I spend so much money it would help cut back a bit. Also salons are closed anyway. I would love for you to make a video, buying what you need to start. A beginner kit like what you absolutely need! You’re so educated & good at teaching. Super talented. Great sense of humor & fun to watch!!!
And this is why square nails are MY favorite! They've been my favorite since I got my very first set of sculpted nails almost 40 years ago! After years and years of pointy shapes the square nails look really fresh and new. That bit about the clear acrylic heating up when it has glitter mixed in was news to me, but I haven't been putting raw glitter in the sculpted nails I make, I've only used it between layers of gel polish. I hope this turns out to be a full set of square nails and that you show us some cool designs that look nice on square nails.
You're THE QUEEN of nails for sure, thanks for the awesome videos. Did my first nail yesterday...I won't tell you how long it took me but happy with the end result...practice makes perfect eh 🤣 stay safe and thanks again. ❤
You are an incredible teacher!!! I wish you had been my teacher. She was adorable but you are so thorough! You tailor make your forms like no other!!! Amazing! You are clearly the best!!!
I watch almost every video cause you got a awesome personality and can't help but look at how pretty your hair color is! I'm super loving it! Greetings from a little state named Indiana in the USA!
That sucks, you must feel so ripped off. I do my on at home and every bit of "how to" information, I have gotten, from Kirsty of Naio Nails , Suzie of Nail Career Education and Elizabeth of The Nail Hub. These three Educators are absolutely amazing.
Most classes actually dont teach that most just pop it on the nail and sculpt and file it into shape I think they feel it takes too much work so they dont do it let alone teach or they may not know how
The sad truth is that most nail schools are for learning very basics and passing boards. You don’t really learn until after, through perseverance, trial, error and everything in between!
@@gymeni that's so true. That's how it was at mine also. I would watch RUclips videos and learn all cool ways, like this and show them at school and they were amazed. It was actually kind of great showing up the teacher. Felt bad, but great also. 😁😁😁
As a fellow nail tech and I’m just beginning, I would LOVE to see your nail studio and desk set up! I hate having to dig in bins for what I need while my client is there!!!
you knew what I was thinking lol two days ago I was just looking for a tutorial on square nails and I was running through your playlist and now look 😌😌
I’ve learned so much! I just wish I can use paper forms I don’t have a free edge on any of my nails at this time. Between my iron deficiency and wearing press on nails let’s just say they’ve been through hell this year lol.

It’s funny I took a course with Young Nails in California and they are firmly against rolling the form. They believe that you are not really following the natural shape of the free edge by doing this. Of course Kirsty does an amazing job rolling or not rolling as She’s up there with the very best of the best ( Greg from YN, Tammy Taylor and Robin Moses, Sandi from cute polish) Kirsty is definitely the top nail artist by far though) My favorite acrylic powder is definitely natural beige by NAIO it cost me a bit more ordering it from the UK, but it’s so lovely, just like our beautiful Kristy
My county just had its first covid19 positive. And I am so glad I have youtubers like you to watch. I absolutely adore you, you're funny, adorable, and I forget about the madness when I watch your content. 💖
I love it. Why can’t any of the nail techs I’ve been to in the US do this?. I’ve been getting my nails done for years and they always...ALWAYS...come out lumpy or too thick or with a flat apex. Ughhh
Because no one wants to pay the price. I used to do nails on the beach. People thought $25 a set was too much. And they didnt want to pay for hand painted nail art. Not when they can get a set slapped on in an hour.
I'm sure you won't see my comment outta the hundreds here but I noticed you have hundreds.. literally like 500 videos on any & everything but you don't have a video about how you became interested in nails and your journey from that point forward.. accomplishments..awards..etc..I know I'm not your only subscriber that looks to you as inspiration and also to learn via your amazing videos..and wants to take the same career path and become as talented as you are doing nails.it would be nice to know what peaked your interest in nails and made you decide on pursuing a career.your hands down the most beautiful and badass nail technican/artist I have seen.i hope one day to be in your league and I really want to know how you got to be so damn good at nails! How do u master doing acrylic with ur non dominant hand? I have to practice I guess but it's not easy ugh. Love watching u u are amazing. Much love from New Jersey xo
look for a curved cuticle scissors in the chemist/drug store/pharmacy, failing that - search amazon, get the slimmer one though, some curved scissors are actual nail ones but advertised as cuticle...
So you finished file with a 240 grit, is that enough roughage for the gel polish to stick I always heard it needed to be pretty rough for the gel polish to stick ? Thx
I love the work you do!! I learn so much from you as always but I do want to know what is the metal scissor tool you use to cut the form into a tighter fit?? Is there a link to that because I love that tool I want one! Does anyone know?
Anyone else just loves watching these even though they aren't nail techs or even get their nails done, just because they are so relaxing to watch 😇
So true 😂😂
