How to Design Your Own Press On Nails | Doing my own nails

- Hi everybody
In this video I’m going to show you how to make press on nails.
I’m starting with full cover tips and I’ve buffed them down. I’m going to start with Base Coat. I’m going to do two coats of Ocean Ridge as a base colour on all of the tips.
I’m going to take the backing paper from a form and do strips of each colour a little bit separated and then take the trident brush and pick up the colour to drag across the nail to create a marble effect. I’m doing this fully covering two nails and only partially on the rest. I’m going to regular top coat the marble and matte top coat the Ocean Ridge. I’m going to finish off the three partially marbled nails with foil around the edge of the marble and top coat just the foil.

I really would love to see a video on the press on actually being pressed on..😁 how and with what... and..... how to remove.
I loved this one. I'm a nurse so cant get acrylics or gel, but this would be a lifesaver. But only want to do it with good product. Not cheap dollar press ons..

Kaitlin Borland i’m guessing that’s what they mean but nail glue is super cheap and you can easily pop them off. though you risk breaking the tip if you wanted to save them.

I love doing my own press on nails cause I can change them at Will, usually every week, and I can bling them out and try new designs and I’m not being charged an arm and a leg to have pretty nails. Best decision ever.
Same. Me. Been going this way for over a year. Easy to do. Easy to change as often as I want. Just find a good reliable glue and you are good.

Always love watching you work! I am recently retired and have started making press/glue on nails for myself and my 10 yr old granddaughter. She has also started making them with me. Now I discover my thumbs are reacting to the acrylic full coverage tips I use. The other nails are fine, just the thumbs crack, itch and peel. I will experiment with flexible gel tips and see if that makes a difference. Hate to think my new hobby and my body are not compatible! I won’t go down without a fight!
Isopropyl alcohol can make the tips and full cover go white, foggy and crack so just brush the dust off.
I love press ons from the store and painting my own press on’s. I’ll stick 2-3 sets on my table and prep them all in one sitting then glue them on whenever I want. It’s such a time saver and if I need to jump up in the middle of it to do something else, I can because my hand is not stuck under a lamp or air drying with regular polish. I have 6 kids(4 are mine, 2 are my cousins that I babysit) and 5 dogs. I used to stay up at night once everyone went to bed to do my finger nails.

This is what I do! Omg I thoight u was the only one! It makes it so much easier to create designs on them plus if you are using regular polish that needs time to dry they can dry before you put them on so no dealing with wet nails!

Beautiful Disaster67 ya, there’s only a small amount of nail techs in the USA that are that good. Liz from the nail hub is good and her shop is 15 minutes away from me.
This us so awesome. My mom have MS and loves when I do her nails but with the MS she cant handle the filing. So matter how soft I try to hand file it send shooting pain through her fingers. She would just suffer through it but I wont do extensions on her anymore. Shes my mom and I dont want to cause her pain or discomfort. It never occurred to be to do press ons... you made a huge bright light bulb go off in my head..I dont want to use glue on her though, so where could I get those sticky tabs? I know they come with the drug store press ons but I never found those to stick very well. And are nail guards the same thing?
Any way I'm super excited now. Press ons...what a great idea. Lol

You can buy them from ali express super cheap, l buy full cover tips and use silcare builder gel to put them on,it's solid on the nail and doesn't bend,super quick and easy and you don't need to file either just paint the tips and done!

Use the apres method.. All youll have to do is buff the inner press on nail

I started doing press on nails for myself because I love long extravagant nails but for the life of me I just can't work with them without catching a hand cramp 😂 so now I jus pop them on when I'm off work. It's the best!

Soak your hands in warm soapy water with Isopropyl alcohol

It would be soo cool to save precious pieces of nail art in boxes for years and wear them for special occasions like it's jewellery.
I do this all the time now 😍😍 i have small kids so having permanently long nails is not possible since well... It's just not practical so now I wear my nails as jewelry and I adhere them with double sided sticky tavs... Don't underestimate those I can get through 2 days eith them no problem and I wash the dishes and everything 😊😊😊😬 and it is absolutely not damaging to the nail and the nails are always reusable :) if you want to keep them on for longer than 2 weeks then you might as well get the sculpted ones 🤷♀️
I do like that color blue. Same here with me. When I go out with my hubby I do my nails. Lately it's been with nail wraps because I'm letting my nails get healthy. Plus nail wraps and press on nails are fast and easy. I do like music in the background - nice and quiet. 🙂

Absolutely stunning
The ones with the combination of blue and marble remind me of geodes. How do you put them on and then remove them without damaging them?
I heard about sticky tabs you can put between your nails and the fake nails, it's like soft tacky plasticky squares which stick on both sides. There's also this trick where you put on clear nail polish, let it dry then glue the nails on with peel-off base coat. It's said to last only a few hours though (if you want to get fancy for a party for example).
