I just got one today. HOLY CRAP. This thing is cool. I modded mine out of the box with a skid plate, 3000mah battery and 200k F & R differential fluid. It's an animal, FYI still turns just fine with the 200k.
I just bought the car and played with it today. This car is great bang for the buck, its very quick durable and maneuverable. There's alot of understeer due to the power and short wheelbase I'm playing around with the suspension, front wheel toe. Tightening the suspension helps avoid the wheelie issue and appears to provide more control. It doesn't have alot of suspension travel and sits low which will always limit stability and bounce.
I bought one and it rips!! The 2s battery really is all it needs, cant just gun it, wheelies aggressively. With 3S battery it will flip on its back. Had the hosim h09 brushed version prior and it makes it feel slow.
Thanks for the info. I've been wanting to get the hyper go model of the hbx 16890sa. Hbx has a lot of issues with the drive train. Live in the high desert of Cali. Seems like it mite be better. Love the vids 💯
My experience is actually that the hypergo has more drivetrain issues. The hbx is extremely well built and durable. Sand is bad for RCs though so that won’t help. Definitely fun though! Thanks!!
oh and congrats on the new place. those road landings are gonna break a lot of your cars... The MJX impressively held on. great bashing. try 3S before the big tires though. the 3S is too much but man it is POWERFUL.
Thanks! Ya we will be doing some grass stuff at this new place also, but still will have plenty of ‘crete landings like before lol Yes I will try it on 3s for sure!!
These HyperGo Trucks are fun especially the Brushless version. The GPS version is a nice added touch but like you said it just adds unnecessary cost since once you get the top speed the GPS becomes unused added weight. Nice bash and ramp session too.
Good to have you both back with us ! Another great 1/16 truck- with an even better spec than the hbx inc official 3s compatibility. Thank you very much for all the info you share in your videos, actually today I recorded in slow motion my mjx H16BM to understand why even when I land jumps it bounces and flips upside down, now you explained it perfectly, maybe using the bigger tires or longer shocks can fix it? Or changing the oil thickness for the shocks? Anyway man keep it going, you have a really aero content.

Is that one of then ones that are pressed in? Those can be tricky without a special tool, but you can try to hammer it out with a small punch, or put a small allen bead hex bit on a pair of channel lock pliers and squeeze it out. But that isn’t always easy.

@@DerbyCityRC 😂😂 building some golden memories here mate. It's things like this that he'll remind you of one day when he's like 21, as it stayed with him 😊😊
I don’t have the hb16m, but I believe it’s just the different “manufacturer” name. Same stuff underneath different body. A cooler body in my opinion too.
I have that car since about 1 month and the shock absorber on the rear not working well anymore. Which oil /weight would you recommend for it to refill ? I’m new in the rc world and qould be nice if you could help me out here, really like your channel 👍
Hello! So the rear shocks just not lift the car all the way up anymore or are they too bouncy? I actually like the fluid these come with, probably close to 50wt. If they don’t push the car all the way back up when just sitting still, you can adjust the spring tension all the way up.
Hey wats up dude. I just got myself the brushless hyper go. The thing is definitely sick, but one thing i noticed is the rear axles are 1 or 2mm to long. they bind up bad when the suspension is compressed even a little. I haven’t seen anyone complaining about this. Did you notice this with yours? Maybe it’s just mine? idk
I have not noticed that. I do know the rear shocks don’t sprint up as strong as the fronts. Funny thing is, that IS an issue when you upgrade from plastic to metal parts on the standard hbx 16889, so I can believe maybe it is actually an issue I just haven’t noticed yet. On my hbx I upgraded, I was able to drill the axle cups out just a little bit deeper and that fixed the problem.
@@DerbyCityRC it does look like the same HBX motor. It has the esc, probably using the motor too. I’m pretty sure that is a 3800. On the MJX all you gotta to is push down on it just a bit and roll it at the same time. you will definitely notice the binding if yours does the same thing. I might drill the cups if it becomes a problem. I had to do that on my 1/16 caster racing s16 when I decided to fit a px9200 suspension on it 🤣. I had the same problem with the rear not springing up on my base 16889. It’s all plastic though. It was annoying lol. I got those new HBX 1/18 shocks, (blue caps with white springs) and the work great on it. The Ama ASIN # is B08PF3YQJ9 You know what else is funny, my 16889 is all plastic. Been running it for over a year with a Rocket 2948 3450kv boat motor and a 60a esc. I would say it’s a tad over powered. Heres the funny part… the only thing that has broken on this thing is an upper control arm. And that was before I upgraded it lol. Plastic Axles are all good, plastic diffs are literally In perfect condition, it’s unreal. Depends on the brand, but I honestly think the plastic parts are more durable than the metal. Crazy
@@DerbyCityRC Hey, not sure if you know but HBX makes the upgraded shocks for the 16889 too. Ama # B0BNQ52C7D, and the part # is 16HOP1 The 18859 shocks are about the same size. I believe only a couple mm shorter. They work real nice on my 16889. No leakage too.
That’s awesome! Ya hbx uses great plastics! It took a while, but I blew out my front diff on my 16890 after it had bigger tires on it for a while. I have yet to kill a metal diff, except in my mjx HyperGo
If you mean the other car we were driving, it’s the Flyhal FC610. However it’s upgraded. Here is the video showing the car and the upgrades: ruclips.net/video/MxPdhiDYsHk/видео.htmlsi=Dw2kIZKagfk9Ex7w
I'm still not so sure whether to buy this one with and running also with 3S (I'm going to use it more on the grass/land/sand not without big jumps) or just go to the most robust sister, the HBX 16889a pro, but in that car, I am quite sure can't deal the 3S as this one, am I right? what would you suggest after both experiences? Btw, Thanks for the video!
That’s a great question and here’s a video that explains it all in pretty good detail if you haven’t seen it. They both have pros and cons and it really is a tough choice. ruclips.net/video/shXiBzqmFeY/видео.html
@@DerbyCityRC thanks, I saw it already and that video pushed me in the beginning to the MJX but after seeing it another couple of times (and with your answers, thanks btw) I think I'm going for the HBX and maybe in the future I'll try to change the ESC and trying it with 3S (cuz I'm still reading that HBX can't handle very well the 3S with his ESC but I'm a noober with RC cars) . Anyway your videos and answers are super helpful, thanks !
Correct that esc has trouble with 3s. Should be a simple and inexpensive swap for a better esc that will take the 3s!! Good choice and glad I can help!
@@DerbyCityRC I can confirm that after a month running with a few times with 3s, esc started to be "funny". I was thinking to buy the MJX esc with 45amps and controller / receiver or maybe try a better esc (like 60amps) and try the Dumbo receiver / controller, it is coming with "gyro" setup that sounds intresting for off roads!
Hi, me again. lol what im wondering is, that one of the tyre came loose off the rim after like 2-3 runs. (Rear) Not sure how common is this w these wheels, i ordered the upgraded Differential, as that seems to wear off due to cheap material. Saw a video a guy was fixing (gluing tyres) had some foam inside the tyre. Not sure what glue, and how durable these are. Any advice, if you have some time? Cheers
@@DerbyCityRC not too sure how it happened, but cant see my son deliberately did that. lol I wasnt there, and ive not seen the wheel yet. I watched a video a guy was gluing them, and also torn/ripped tyres. Ordered the rubber glue and some spare tyres. He says its hard to control, i thought maybe can still drive until new, or glue arrives.. thanks
@numbaonekobefanofHUN oh definitely DOES happen all the time, just usually on bigger tires with more centrifugal force. I can totally believe it happened with mostly normal use lol. I wouldn’t run it if it’s off the rim as could mess the wheel up.
Hello. That’s interesting. It could have been programmed differently. I’m not sure if there is a way to reprogram these or not. But yes all you do it push the trigger the opposite way and hold it there
hi - i just bought this from aliexpress. Question for you - the drive train and gear box are very noisy and loose. It appears to have quite a bit of slack in the gear box, so if you hold tree wheels in place and the turn the remaining wheel it moves and makes a few clicks like skipping a few teeth before the wheel locks into the transmission, just so very loose and very clicky drive train. Is this normal on this particular model?
Lol!!! Close enough. They’ve been watching a lot of Old McDonald had a farm and got his lyrics mixed up with what he was trying to say 🤣 He said Full throttle had a…McDonald. Lol
Great little basher. but HBX seems to be the trend setter, especially the 2995 and the 16889a PRO. Would be great to see the MJX HyperGo V2 against the 16889a Pro both on 3s being bashed. I cant decide which one is better.
Ya I’ll do a comparison video in those two soon. Can’t go wrong with either one. Hopefully the hyper go is just as durable. It does seem to have a bit more power
@@DerbyCityRC I already ordered the Hosim HyperGo Brushless and its exceptionally built. The quality is unbelieveable. I think the MJX HyperGo Brushless is the next best rc since the HBX2995.
I feel like the MJX Hyper Go Brushless/V2 seems a little better quality/more well thought out than the 16889 Pro. Official 3S support, better tyres, better interior design/honeycomb chassis, motor fan, slightly faster in both 2S and 3S, body attachment system on the 16208 variant etc. Just seems like a slightly more premium/modern overall package and better value proposition, though you can't really go wrong with either.
@kaskalo2 the HyperGo 14209 and the 14210. I have videos on both of those. Also the blue car I got from Temu is awesome. The SMRC which is my most recent video was actually really good too and I have several others coming up that look promising. I know it’s a big decision! 🤣
hi, i bought my kid a deerc 302e but it had a breakdown and i sent it back, it was pretty fast but nervous to drive. Hbx is more durable but which is better to drive? faster and ready for 3s is mjx. I don't know which one to choose?
This mjx is a pretty good drive. A whole lot of fun. The hbx 16889a pro is a super amazing choice too. It seems to have slightly better durability than the mix. It’s hard to go wrong with those
@@DerbyCityRC Thanks. can you tell me how much you can turn the speed in hbx? mjx I only see 70% options and that's too much for my 7 year old as he rides at home. deerc had 3 modes 1/3, 2/3 and full.
It’s been too long since I ran this car, so I don’t remember. Likely between 10-15 minutes. Here’s a bigger battery designed to fit in case you didn’t know: amzn.to/45FR8Gb
Random question, just got one and when it breaks it makes a weird noise? Maybe electrical? Does anyone else’s make a noise when breaking or when reversing then going forward? And when the battery is low does it allow you to steer but not drive? Thanks

Very interesting that some Chinese companies ACTUALLY improve licenced designs they've first used. (and hopefully paid for) But at the same time I hope this won't threat HBX existence as they brought that quality first in those recent times
Pity the brushless setup pushes the price of this one up even more, not exactly a true "budget" RC anymore ... - I would have bought it for that price on Banggood, unfortunately once again that they do not ship to South Africa!

Hey im in a big trouble 😢 What is the best rc car ? mjx hyper go 16208 or hbx 901a? 😢 in need your best option according to your experience 🤗❤️
Haha, those are my least favorite of both brands lol. Out of those I’d say the 901a I think.
But I would choose the 2997a!!
Very good
Thanks!
Hello !(^^)!
Lovely house.
It is a cool RC.
I like powerful RC.
Thanks for the fun video.
Thanks and you’re welcome!
What is the difference between this model and the HB16M?
I don’t have the hb16m, but I believe it’s just the different “manufacturer” name. Same stuff underneath different body. A cooler body in my opinion too.
love it More than 14210
It’s been so long since I’ve driven this one I can’t remember, but that could be a feasible thought!
@@DerbyCityRC yes exactly the rear dumper doesnt lift the car 100% up anymore and if pushing on it its comes just slowly up.
@@DerbyCityRC and yes they are not bouncy
@@DerbyCityRCthank you for your quick answer 👍
Hopefully you were able to adjust the springs. That usually helps but sometimes still not 100%
Looks like my widemaxx 😎
Sweet!
A bit smaller though 🤣
Tough little guy
Absolutely!
1000 thx your expérience
The Ama ASIN # is B08PF3YQJ9
You know what else is funny, my 16889 is all plastic.
Ama # B0BNQ52C7D, and the part # is 16HOP1
The 18859 shocks are about the same size.
Awesome!
Jador cette caisse je vais m'en prendre une
Awesome 👏
if you dont mind me asking what is the name of the green car in the start of the video?
If you mean the other car we were driving, it’s the Flyhal FC610. However it’s upgraded.
Here is the video showing the car and the upgrades: ruclips.net/video/MxPdhiDYsHk/видео.htmlsi=Dw2kIZKagfk9Ex7w
Man I love’s me some whole metal.😂
🤣🤣
Ya it just doesn’t work well with it. I’ve even heard good things about the Hobbywing quicruns that are only 30 amps
Hi, me again. lol what im wondering is, that one of the tyre came loose off the rim after like 2-3 runs. (Rear)
Not sure how common is this w these wheels, i ordered the upgraded Differential, as that seems to wear off due to cheap material. Saw a video a guy was fixing (gluing tyres) had some foam inside the tyre. Not sure what glue, and how durable these are. Any advice, if you have some time? Cheers
Interesting I haven’t seen tires come off the rim on these I don’t think but yes they get glued. This is what I use: amzn.to/3W0dCOW
@@DerbyCityRC not too sure how it happened, but cant see my son deliberately did that. lol
I wasnt there, and ive not seen the wheel yet.
Hi just got this truck but brakes are not good as yours.. btw how do u apply brakes for this truck? Just pulling the trigger backwords right?
Some movement and a little noise is normal. From the sound of it, yours may be excessive and you may want to reach out to the seller.
Did he say Full throttle McDonald's? LMAO 🤣
Lol!!!
Close enough. They’ve been watching a lot of Old McDonald had a farm and got his lyrics mixed up with what he was trying to say 🤣
He said Full throttle had a…McDonald.
I agree!
Plus axles that are like 3x as thick!
I don’t disagree at all!
I’d love to see a 1/12 HyperGo!
Does it have adjustable steering and throttle?
I don’t recall this one having adjustable steering (though it is proportional). There is a speed switch to reduce it to 70% power but that’s it.
Throttle also proportional of course
Can it run on snow? 🤔
I think so, but the newer hypergos are far superior to this one in my opinion.
@@DerbyCityRC like which for example?
The hbx has a knob that you can turn way down, so that’s much better for what you’re looking for
Can't decide on the mjx or the hbx so I'll be buying both see what you started because of you I'm loving these little trucks thanks man
Haha! I know it’s a real tough choice. Did you see my actual comparison video between the two? Still both have their place lol
I always hear its tougher than the HBX and handles better. Tough pill to swallow but who knows! Lol😅
Hard to say. The plastic in the gen 1 definitely seems more brittle than hbx. Hopefully this one isn’t. It was an absolute blast for sure!
I have purchased 3x 3s batteries. (1050mah) Whats the runtime roughly of each?
It’s been too long since I ran this car, so I don’t remember. Likely between 10-15 minutes. Here’s a bigger battery designed to fit in case you didn’t know: amzn.to/45FR8Gb
@@DerbyCityRC Cheers for the fast response
@numbaonekobefanofHUN you’re welcome dude!
Random question, just got one and when it breaks it makes a weird noise? Maybe electrical? Does anyone else’s make a noise when breaking or when reversing then going forward? And when the battery is low does it allow you to steer but not drive? Thanks
How would you describe the noise?
And yes battery cutoff only cuts off throttle. Steering will still work.
Review new MJX hyper go 14209 and 14210 please
14210 is coming
Do you know if it's water resistant?
Unfortunately, I don’t know for sure.
Did you guys move?
Sure did!
We have o ur house a bit of a send off on the video before this one 👍👍
@@DerbyCityRC just watched it, that’s sick bro congrats on the move! I like the new spot better for the bashing area haha you actually got me into these smal cheap rigs I’ve always spent thousands on one truck to be happy but these small ones are whole different kind of fun and they can handle my 4yr old haha
Haha! Ya and wait til you see our actual new house. That was my moms. Once I have it set up, we really got some good stuff goin!
Glad I helped you get into these cheaper cars. Definitely don’t have to spend a fortune but the expensive cars sure are nice. I might get an Arrma senton here shortly.
👍👍
Put thicker oil in the shocks
Ya I may try that, but it’s already pretty thick oil. I think handling may suffer, while improving its jump landing abilities.
Very interesting that some Chinese companies ACTUALLY improve licenced designs they've first used. (and hopefully paid for)
But at the same time I hope this won't threat HBX existence as they brought that quality first in those recent times
I agree!
But yes, it’s time for HBX to do something different lol.
whole metal duty differentials???😂😂😂
lol never heard of those before! It’s proprietary!!
Hi I’m back EVAN SEE U ON CHRISTMAS?
Yay!!!
I sure hope so!! ❤️❤️

Pity the brushless setup pushes the price of this one up even more, not exactly a true "budget" RC anymore ... - I would have bought it for that price on Banggood, unfortunately once again that they do not ship to South Africa!
I think it’s relatively well priced, but ya that stinks it can’t ship to you 😢
I just bought this RC for $123 shipped, USD on AliExpress. Seems like an excellent deal. It’s only more expensive on Amazon if you can find it.
That’s the same price on Banggood I believe. Definitely well worth it!!
@@elmateo487 Wow, great find!

Almost lol. I think you got beat 🤘🤘🔥
MJX HYPER GO v2 or HBX 16889a pro for someone without a workshop and just wants a run about to play with?
The hbx! More durable and needs fewer repairs!
Hmmmm my wheelie bar doesn't seem 2 fit on my Amazon version got a close up pic? 😀👊👍✌️🦅🇺🇸🦼
That’s weird lol. You leave the bumper attached and just remove a couple screws and then reinstall them with the wheelie bar. I can’t post pictures on here lol
