    I actually found one used for $14 at bin store full of stuff!! Everything was still intact. Part of the shock was broken on the front right but easy repair. I’m actually fairly new to RC cars and this is more than enough for a starter for me personally. Also to note for anyone else, the reverse mechanism works as a brake before it actually reverses. And then it switches to reverse once it’s stopped for a second or two. I find it interesting. And the supplied battery is more than enough fun and speed for me. I’ll just use it till something breaks and just repair it. No complaints whatsoever.

    just found your channel. I like your content. About grease, you can actually cause the diff to overheat when you overpack with grease and with wrong weight of grease for high RPM applications. light amount of grease is all that is needed actually for most application otherwise excessive grease will increase drivetrain drag and motor heat and battery drain.

    • @KentuckyRC
      @KentuckyRC  Год назад +1

      That’s not good! If you haven’t done so already, play around with the trim and speed settings on the remote to try getting it to stop. Secondly, I would check all the connections to the motor, ESC & servo and see if any are loose. Disconnect and reconnect if possible. With the 2.4ghz band there shouldn’t be an issue with interference, but it’s not beyond the realm of possibility. Also, the remote itself may have something lodged in it preventing it from having a full swing necessary for the idle position.
      If it’s still not right, I’d open a support ticket with whoever you ordered it from and seek a return. Good luck!

      @@KentuckyRC the batteries fit with a slight modification. The lip that the back of the stock battery slides under, cut it off. The stock battery is still secure in the rc. I let my 5 yr ikd use it with those. But those 3s batteries are wild. Gonna need some tires soon.

      @@KentuckyRC ps, I did end up breaking an a arm and a shock. Which was completely my fault. Considering the speed of the impact with the brick wall, im impressed that's all that broke. I do have full metal shocks and a arm kit coming. Which I'm starting to think the a arm kit was a bad idea. I haven't received it yet, but im considering not putting them on. They're pretty, but I feel they'll bend the first time something goes wrong.

    Does the ESC overheat?

      While I’ve never tested it with a thermometer, it has never given out even with multiple batteries on the hottest days in extreme conditions.

    13:09 - it looks a lot easier to control and run on 2s.

      @KentuckyRC  Год назад

      It is easier for sure. I’ll occasionally do some speed runs on 3S, but the majority of the time I keep it on 2S. Taking bumps on 3S is hard on the little guy. lol

      @@KentuckyRC thanks for making the video.I sank my Xmax in the lake and don’t have the money to buy another one.I use rc cars for training and exercise of my hunting dog.I mount a stuffed animal toy pig to the top and tie a piece of string to the back with boar scent applied and make a scent trail before I turn him loose.The dog lives chasing rc cars and has a blast.I want to save up the money and get the Xmaxx back and see if it can be resurrected.I hate cars that I have to upgrade or work on.I just want to drive it.Videos like yours are a great help for me to buy reliable cars.

    Why is everyone so cought up with top speed. My grom is the perfect speed! My nephue, and brother have groms. We race them for hours! No breakage, they jump nice, and when we got them they wer a a very affordable prise. No hop ups needed! Well normal batteries. Spectrum batteries are fine, but you cant use your charger. Gotta use there charger. Add another $39 to its coust. There are better options out there.
    The defendant needs to go away like to antartica. Nothing else. Just drop him off there.
    We the people have had enough!

      It was at full throttle but it was crazy cold that day. I’ve heard that lipos don’t function well in cold temps but I’ve never tested that. I need to get out there soon and get a better speed run on this.
