The view of the on/off switch at 7:30 was exactly what I needed. The little piece of metal fell out and couldn’t figure out how it needed to go back in. Thanks!!!
Glad to hear ✌👍
Your video help me fix my 2011 Highlander. I spent hours checking everything and all pulling all the fuses I almost gave up. Then I saw the screw on the back of the control like you did. I didn't pull the control out, I just turned the wheel to a good position, removed the screws and,,,, DANG,,,,,,, my copper tabs where bent and not making contact. I bent them back and it worked like new. I think the wife hit a bump or something and must have hit the control hard the her knee or something and jammed the on/off button too hard. Thanks Brother. You're my hero! DS
Excellent , thanks for sharing and i am glad you found this video helpful .
Before the video I did not know too much about the cruise control system... now after watching the video I feel more comfortable to try my corolla 2008 and take a look at the piece that may be damaged.
Thanks a lot Brother!👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for the video and the clarity of instructions. I probably saved a couple hundred dollars with your instructions!
You are most welcome
Thanks very much for your detailed instructions. Although I’ve got an older Celica (1991 convertible). I now understand the principles of fixing the cruise control. Toyota doesn’t change much. I’ve had 3 now. My cruise control works intermittently so I think I can see why that may be now. Thanks very much.
👍✌ Glad to hear you found this video helpful
Just fixes my switch because of this video. It was fun and easy - without removing it out of a steering wheel of my Sequoia. Thank you so much!
👍🏼
Very thorough and well explained. Thank you.
You are welcome !
Thanks, another satisfied student on RUclips University
Awesome, awesome video showing in detail this switch problem.thank you for showing all the possibilites it could of been..you just helped me so much, thank you.
Great video and well explained! Thanks ! Hope to see more of yours .
Great video!!My wife’s RX 400h cruise control isn’t working. Now I just got to find a junkyard and hope to find a 5$ cruise control switch!
Thank you, with your help, I fixed it!!!
Anytime 😊
I can tell you in 2022 they haven't come down. Ebay doesn't even have a cheap knock off!
Very well explained. Thank you!
Well, I'm gonna check it out and see if I can do it myself. Thank you so much!!!
Thanks for sharing. My lever snapped in half, now it will only take me a second to pull one from the scrap yard.
This helped with a 2008 Toyota Camry hybrid with the same switch. in my case, the both of the those little contact fingers on the the outside of the three were simply bent too far back and made no contact with the corresponding sides. I bent them the correct way and Voila i have cruise control back again.
👍🏼
Good one. It was really well done. Have a good Christmas. Thanks again.

Thanks for sharing your video is supper well explanatory. Am bold enough now to go get my 2010 Toyota Corolla fix. More tha a year l bought never work
Thanks for sharing! If the switch doesn’t respond to the scanner, it’s more than likely it’s the clock spring, right?
Thank you....
I've got same prob on mine, button failed. TY for U Pullit idea, and video on how to replace, might be a little different on my car, but probably not much.
Thank you for this. My advice for others is the copper piece is like a spring and it will go flying in the right situation. Handle it with caution!
Mine when flying off into space when I took the button out while troubleshooting and disappeared. I mean I was to the point I was going to take the seats out! But the thing is gone and I give up here.
I'll get a junkyard assembly off Ebay. Hasn't failed me yet.
Great video, helped very much.. Thanks
Glad it helped
I have 2011 corolla le i didn't find under driver side fuse penal where should I find cruise control fuse
Good tips, thanks
Glad it was helpful!
1:44 Here is the list of fuses you should check if you have cruise control issues
Does anyone know where the cruise control fuse is located? Prado 150, year 2014, engine 2.7.
Man....been trying to figure out my cc word for a while. Can't afford a obd trader like you have.
My cruise shuts off after about thirty miles. Then when I reset it, it goes off after maybe five miles. Then it just constantly goes off until finally the green light goes off and won't come back on....like something is getting hot.
I've replaced my clockspring and still have the issue. Have cc modules and switches from junkyard....haven't bothered yet with swapping. Next worrynis the actual cc throttle actuator. I have an 04 XRS and I believe it to be different from the regular base and xr (6 speed trans). Anyhow...thanks.
Thanks brother
Thankyou

Thank You 👍
Welcome 😊
That Autel Maxi system, does it adjust mileage, I had to replace my instrument cluster due to a short circuit. شكراً يا نبيل
Nope
Auto Repair Champs Thanks for the speedy reply, if you know any other tool that will work for that please let me know, I had 131k and the new one has only 57k, I need it to match my receipts and Carfax report, I need to bring it up to 131K
@@Ben-Hawy I am sorry I Never used any for that matter . Thanks
👍
Thx. That was helpful
Thank you sir
You are Welcome !
u didnt disconnect the negative terminal on the battery?!?? couldnt the airbag deploy?
I have a 2007 matrix and when i press the button the cruise light comes on, but when i press set... nothing happens and the cruise control doesnt work
Will this be the same for a 2009 Pontiac vibe?
Most likely yes but not positive .
my light comes on but the cruise on't engage or manually accelerate ... what to do?
Thanks for the video I have a 2011 corolla automatic. I did this and replaced wire harness too. My cruise light didn’t kick on for a while but then it worked until the next morning when I started the car and it just went back to not working again. My transmission is kind of going bad I think and I’m wondering if maybe the computer is turning off my cruise control.
It is very possible . If you it didn't work right away when you thought you fixed and started to work on the next day , i feel like you didn't hook things correctly and somewhere is still loose . I would recheck the wires again and make sure everything is connected . I believe when you turned the wheel right and left is when loose wires reconnected and started to work
Auto Repair Champs thank you sorry my wording was bad. When I first changed the switch last night it didn’t work right away and then I ended up changing the harness too. It still didn’t work right away, then out of nowhere a few minutes later the on/off cruise light started working but when I started the car this morning nothing worked again. When I was working on the switch last night I had battery unplugged. I’m going to check if harness came loose again thank you for the quick response.
@@RobertNazarov65 yes , keep me posted . Thank you and good luck
@@RobertNazarov65 I have the same issue, did u fix it yet ?
@@moussakouzrit2278 not yet I thought I fixed it but it only worked for a week or less then it went back to the cruise control light not turning on. I think unplugging my battery when I changed the cruise control knob is what helped reset the electronics but after a while it stopped working again. Hope you get yours fixed, I gave up on mine for now.
I keep finding the part with out the ground? And all the reviews say it works great. Should I still get it?
That ground is to help keep you safe as well as the cars electrical system if you put that piece in it may work but its gonna pull so much electricity from the power supply and the next time you touch any metal from the frame close to where you install it its gonna give you a shock not to mention it could badly melt the hook up
When you turned the key on did the CRUISE light turn on prior to the issue?
I honestly don't remember but I am pretty sure just like other cars when the light is on that means it is set and it is enabled or turned on . maybe you wires are touching . did you try turning it of? Does it go off ? Let me know . thanks
@@autorepairchamps I have a friend with a functioning Cruise control on his Celica GT-S. I asked him to do the KOEO light panel test when all the dash lights illuminate and he said the CRUISE light does NOT turn on. It turned on if he hit the switch though. I noticed those two notches next to the little screw . Those are test ports actually. If you short those two together the CRUISE light will turn on. You can also check resistance values on the accel, resume, decel etc etc with those two ports. It's wired in parallel and depending on which one you select the electricity goes through a different resistor. The resistance value is what makes the computer know the setting. I realized this after noticing 4 wires on the switch but only two wires going to the harness. ALSO! super helpful hint, if you notice the cruise control not turning on, and the airbag light on, and the horn not working it's most likely your clockspring that is bad. Sometimes the clockspring is bad but still lets you use the horn and airbag system... turn your steering wheel completely to the left and or right while simultaneously turning the cruise button on and off. Usually when its full left or full right your cruise light will turn on, this is your clock spring as well!
Can I fix a cruise control button to my Toyota matrix that did not originally come with the cruise system?
It might be possible but won't be easy as you will need to install the Cruise Control Actuator and rerun the cable that hols the cruise control speed. This is going to be kindda of hard to do your self ,
Hey, thanks. I'll make run to the junkyard to get switch. Do you recommend that verses a cheap Amazon switch? That's quite a handy scan tool.
Honestly switches like these all work like genuine and brand names. It doesnt matter as long as the circuit and electronic functions works ok, It does a simple job . Cheap generic works just as well . Thanks
i got it on amazon for 18 dollars lol
MAN
How bout just go without cruise control it's not a necessity
Marko Vendetti Tell that to my right ass cheek and leg after 1,200 miles of driving.
