artisan hien 1 year later! still the BEST gaming mousepad?

my original artisan hien review
• Artisan Hien Review: T...
i think artisan hien "clones" like the odin infinity are really good because they make the textures a lot more accessible, but the quality of artisan is still the best and imo a worthwhile investment

okay hayate otsu comparison coming soon jesus i have never seen people so passionate about a mousepad
do it review puppet
ok
Yea please i am confused on which one to get with agile cables and lethal gaming gear restocking soon
congrats you single handedly convinced me to buy the superlight
Can you do top5 mouse tier list because its half od 2021
i love how the whole video hes just tossing around mice and then switches evert few mins
Lmao
Last night I had a dream my artisan Hien was completely ruined by over use. I woke up breathing heavily just to see this video was uploaded
bought my hien 6 months ago cause of your og hien video, absolutely don't regret it at all
yeah its fucking insane the quality is crazy
Same here. I went with the X-soft because it was the only one available at the time. Don't be afraid of x-soft........ unless you’re an ape.
I just found your channel this morning and I'm hooked, I love your videos. I had already the superlight from logitech on my amazon cart waiting to pull the trigger and after watching the mouse tier list I removed it from my cart and clicked on your affiliate link to hopefully give you a comission on that trigger pull.
Your channel is so underrated, it is so informative and entertaining (really like your personality and sense of humor).
Thank you!
"it sort of smoothed out a little bit, but by no means is it smoth" villager hrmm
The pad itself isn’t smooth to the touch at all but the surface feels smoothed out on your mouse feet , should clear it up

I just failed my test but at least the boardzy upload notification mid test made me feel better
Definitely my favorite pad, it does slow down quite a bit though. Mine is slower in the middle but not so much that it feels muddy. It's nearly perfect but it's not as good as cordura when it comes to humidity/sweat resistance. After a month of pretty heavy use it became muddy from my sweaty ass hands, easily fixed by cleaning but just something to keep in mind.
So you are saying its overpriced and overhyped...
@@zihuatenejo no, it’s still just about the most beautiful thing you can purchase for your hands and mouse. If you don’t live in a new lace that is super humid/moist (like New York or Japan) then maybe it’ll slow down a little but if you just clean it then the issue majorly goes away
Jesus loves you alot trust in His death 4 salvation and be saved from eternal hell
My Artisan Hien is arriving today from Lethal Gaming. I'm so excited!
I love the Hien. Best cloth pad I've used hands down, but I gotta be honest and say that it doesn't last as long as most people say with daily use. For me it was just over a year, like 14 months, with washing every ~3 months. Which when considering the vast majority of traditional cloth pads last 2-3 months, is still an amazing lifespan. It's just just not "3+ years" that everyone seems to parrot (doubting most people that repeat this even have a hien let alone have had it for over 3 years).
It was superb for ~13 months and then just started rapidly declining in the last month, to the point now where it's vastly muddier than my dirty ~7 year old goliathus speed, regardless of washing.
I think that "smoothing out" that you noticed just progressively gets worse until the texture is practically flat.
Just figured I'd share my experience since I always see "infinite lifespan" talked about with the Hien. Still an absolute top tier pad though otherwise.
MAybe my entire surface will erode by the year 2 update! But thanks for sharing your experience, will make sure to keep it in mind
Washing mouse pad = killing the mouse pad. I cleaning my pads with 99% isopropyl alcohol and microfiber, the surface remains the same as before cleaning as opposed to washing. 💯👌🏿
@@SuS-fs3ik I imagine that depends more on how you are washing it, rather than just being an absolute truth. I use the most plain soap I can find with a soft microfiber cloth, and slightly cold water. Only using the weight of my arm basically for pressure, and rinsing very thoroughly. I don't see how under these circumstances the fibers would get damaged at all, but I could be entirely wrong.
Perhaps I'll try isopropyl or disinfecting spray on my next pad.
@@SuS-fs3ik WTF are u ok
@@SuS-fs3ik ok ummm I don't think you should go around and say this because it is quite the opposite. I have a steelseries qck and have used it over a year now with washing every 4-5 months. After every wash where I take dishsoap and a sponge to remove the dirt then cleaning with water and drying the mousepad it looks good as new. Idk how you are washing your mousepad but there are videos out there on youtube so go check em out
Ordered a Hien XL mid the other day, I'm eagerly waiting it's arrival. Very excited!
Hien = God
i dont understand why people hate on the qck, i have tryed alot of mousepads but im allways comming back to the qck heavy, its such a good pad and for me its still consistent after 1 year of use no washing.
Hey Boardzy, love ur vids and literally bought the Hien because of you. Unfortunately I bought a size L so recently I copped a Hayate Kou soft in XL any thoughts or opinions on that pad not sure if you've reviewed that one already ?
Hey boardzy love your vids! Would love to see a video update on the new Hayate Otsu in comparison to the Hien!
You got it
This video came out 1 day after I got my first artisan mousepad, a wine red hien in xsoft, and wow. Aiming feels so much nicer with this thing.
Just got the Hein in Xsoft. Great mousepad but there's a very clear difference between x and y axis. X being significantly faster.
honestly thats quite handy so you dont overflick on the y axis in fps games
this is a great thing imo
I want to build a custom Hien, but with a slightly higher thread count. Do you know if the materials and weave pattern are known? If you guys can find out I will make it.
have you used the mid version of the hien? it seems to be the only variant that's ever in stock and I'm thinking about buying one.
Can you do this as well about the Zero? I'm curious if a "standard" cloth pad is holding up for this long.
I'm looking for an artisan mat, but I don't know which one to choose, raiden or hien. I play with relatively high sensitivity in cs. What do you recommend?
Damn, I been watching boardzy for over a year now... that's crazy, still love the vids tho
Appreciate the longtime support man
Ayyo congrats on 50k you deserve it!
Thanks man
he's not failure after all
Just got the hayate otsu v2, initial impressions are that I prefer the Hien, but might have to break it in. Couldn't aim for crap for 2 weeks on the Hien either. Probably just make them into a desk mat and use the Hien until it's worn out though.
I recently just go ahead and bought a artisan zero. Man it’s one of the best mousepad I ever bought. It is totally like you said not affected by humidity. Even when my hands and arms are sweating, this pad doesn’t even affect me at all like other mousepad do. Superior quality for the mousepad. Love it man! Keep doing your thing dude! Great for the community!
Does the artisan zero feel muddy compared to average cloth pads
@@interns_4774 I think it depends on the softness of the pad. My xsoft is really a mud pad lol. I haven tried the soft and medium so I can’t say for sure.
I got my hien 2 years ago and I use it like 6-8 houres a day minimum. The mid part where I use my mouse is really not texured as much anymore. The initial friction is much higher and it don't glide as much as new. Apart from that no problems. And I find it really usable just not as good . So it is not infinit lifespan
still 2 years with 1 mouse pad is very good no?
@@chisthyer943 yes that very good
Clean it and it will become better
Well nothing last forever, anyone who says there’s last forever is lying, it’s gonna wear down overtime, just like everything else you know but it’s def still really good after years
@@emma6648 I had my qck+ for 6 years w/ daily use, and everytime I wash it it's like brand new, but everyone is saying it wears down in 3-6 months
congrats on 50k :)

Well I would buy an Artisan one time too , but than i need to think about which one would fit my playstyle. :/ Does i want a Control pad or a more speedpad. I just dont know because i like both to play. (played both in Fps games like Csgo and both feeling great with my playstyle)
I am planning on switching to an artisan because of how long they last and the quality (so I am told) What do you think is closest feeling to an inked gaming pad?
go with a zero soft or xsoft
what’s your opinion on the ducky mecha mini? I feel like it’s underrated even though it’s just a aluminum case version of a ducky one two mini.
Does the rubber base still stick even when placed on another mouse pad like and extended desk mat
hallo boardzy,in Indonesia there is no one artisan mousepad supplier,so what you recommend to the most like artisan hien soft mousepad??,endgame mpc450 or aqua control +?
yo boardzy im thinking of buying another artisan pad, thinking of raiden, should i go with mid or soft?
What mouse has the lowest button height that u have reviewed
I have used the new Hayate Otsu for a while now, and its the best mousepad i have used.
Is there anyway to get these in uk without crazy shipping
i just got a hien that i ordered from the artisan website and the logo is completely different, and its a ninja FX?
If I’m pretty good using the aquacontrol plus black fly pad would I like the hien? I play games like call of duty, doom, halo, and Csgo
you should review the hyperx mousepads just so we can have it as a comparison
well theres no way I can get my hands on any artisan pads cuz website says out of stock. Guess ill make do with MP510 for now. Really want a Hien or Shidenkai tbh.
2022 would you think hien is better than hayate otsu? is it true that the slide is different in Y and X axis?
thanks in advance for any reply, also have you played with sthrafe? lol I saw he mentioned you in some videos
This man boardzy is invited to any cookout. This man alone changed my mind about artisan. I didn't think this thing was worth the hype than boom mine comes in and its like butter. Boardzy you my Nigga
Is this still the best right now? I'm using a mouse with pulsar superglide glass skates
Hey bro i hope you'll see this i have the mid hien and using the logitech superlight. I am so worried because i think the mid is to rough and could potentially damage the mouse. What do you think?
Does anyone know a mousepad that has the same feeling of glorious ice but works in humidity?
hey! what artisan mousepad should i get if i will get so much similar as the glorious xxl mousepad?
I still use my GTFX, which is basically as close to the Hien you can get without paying what the Hien costs.
gtfx is so fucking trash compare to hien
board have u heard of new ac+ non coated black version that has “slim stitched” edges?
Got an order for an Artisan Zero in on MaxGaming, im super hyped for when it arrives in 5 Weeks. Gonna burn my Qck+ in the Street when it arrives or something.
Question: should I get the artisan zero, I also currently have a qck+ and Im wondering if the mousepad is worth it or not cuz of hair stuck ppl say
hien vs otsu v2? for fortnite and valorant and high sens, what do you think?
today i got an alert on my phone for a fire warning because the humidity was at 10%. some people are just lucky i guess
I am actually waiting on my odin infinity pad to arrive today. They are finally back in stock and I scored one for 12$, but had to open a paypal credit line and got 25$ off so I cant complain lol. N e ways... The more pads I try the more I am beginning to see just how subjective it all is like u were alluding to. I own and have used the gtfx, ac+, dash, raiden mid, neon pad, eve pad, cheap victsing pad, equate plus, tiger grandmaster pad, and corsair pad.... MY fav pad out of those is the equate plus and that pad barely gets any recognition and is outshined by the AC+ tho i personally like the equate plus better. Its hard to say which pad is right for people or even recommend a certain type of pad over another, because one person may have a 100 gram mouse and another a 60 gram mouse, one person may be an arm aimer and another a wrist aimer or a combination of both, one person may play in a humid climate and another may use a sleeve, one person may prefer the feedback and grainy feel of hien or gtfx while others prefer a smoother experience, someone may play cs as their main game and another battlefield or cod. One person may be good at tracking and bad at flicks and etc etc... The pad right for each person has everything to do with these factors so its hard to recommend a pad everyone will resonate with.
How’s the infinity?
Is there a difference between the black and wine red one?
Does anyone know if the measurements on their website are in Inches or Centimeters? Wanna make sure I'm getting the right size
Max gaming offers artisan mousepads only to some European countries (plus they are always sold out). I live in Europe and had to order mine directly from artisan it should be arriving on monday. I ordered hayate otsu xsoft and a glorious model o wireless from max gaming super excited!
How is the glorious x otsu combo
@@zPeton not bad, but for my claw/palm grip style I lack a lot of stopping power, hopefully gonna cop new TenZ finalmouse and artisan zero xl
@@vasilije.sljivic ic, i have the same mouse and i ordered the hien xsoft
Gonna grab an artisan pad otw to Japan later this year. Conflicted between hien or raiden, I want speed, but also comfort and durability, maybe hien??? but idk how any of then feels when it comes to comfort ;-;
The rubber backing doesn’t work for my table 😞 it’s because I bought a cheap table from IKEA
Wouldn't be this better fit for medium to high dpi and sens? I play on lower DPI (400 & 800) and a low in game sens. For CoD as example 400 dpi, and 6 sens. I feel like this pad would be a bit too small. As pads the similar size in past have been too small. XXXL QCK is perfect for me. Is performance and aim really that much better with these? I know stormen rocks the same QCK as me and not many people have aim as good as him
How do you clean it? after i clean the mousepad it stops to be slippery :(
Can u do this same video about the artisan zero? i'm thinking 'bout buy it but im from south america so u know... it's pretty expensive also not easy to find
Are you going to be getting the new Steelseries Prime Mouse?
I got this and the zero at the same time and the Hien is not even close my favorite pad. The zero does feel comfy, high quality, and smooth, but the Hien has no start friction and has great stopping power. The scratchyness people have mention that hurt their wrist are not scratchy. Unless you have a skin condition, the pad feels great. I like the rough texture tbh, gives me more feedback since my mouse is so light already.
erm waahh hwahhh wahhh im a baby

my hayate otsu after 4 months became smoother after washing it. all i do is spray some water on the pad and wipe with a cloth then let it dry.

just ordered my zero today to Swiss aswell, similiar price, how lond did it take to get to you?

i've heard the vertical speed and horizontal speed on the artisan hien feels different, can you confirm ?
Just got my hein a couple weeks ago and there is very VERY little deviation between the x and y axis. Unless you are the most sensitive pissbaby on earth, you’ll be all g.
I know Im a year late but what do you think about Xtra soft vs soft. I'm planning to get a xl Xtra soft zero or maybe Hien. But I prefer slower, control pads. So what do you think soft or extra soft. (Also anybody feel free to answer). :)
Your doing really good job with this videos Im about to switch my qck+ after 1 year to Artisan fx zero soft after watching them. What skatez should i get for my superlight ?
Tiger ice feet or corepads, made a vid comparing them recently
might buy the zero, but i kinda prefer the TE mousepads bc they look sick
i want to but the hien mousepad what should i get the xsoft or soft it will help alot.
is there much difference hien mid between soft?
Will it be an Upgrade from the endgame cordura?
Yeah for my money I'll just keep buying glorious ice pads that way I can replace them more often and not freak out if anything happens to it.
Should I get the helios mouse pad or another one? Someone please help me choosing a very good smooth mouse pad
Have you tried the Monolith M-508?
Are artisan mousepads on Amazon used
Heres a tip for cleaning. Dont use lysol. Use rubbing alcohol and a microfiber cloth. It cleans better and drys faster. It's also more environmentally friendly.

@@Abraham-ik6ws yes sir
@@Abraham-ik6wswhy white instead of the black one? Whats the diff?
@@miguelpilapil1682 white one is uncoated so it will not wear down as much as black one
@@Abraham-ik6ws Why on earth do people keep repeating this misinformation. I own the Black AC+, it is UNCOATED.
BOTH white and black are UNCOATED. The only difference is that the white one might feel slightly (unnoticeably) smoother (it's still rough), but both are made from Amundsen. The black one, is the original.
If you want to get a custom one, or Strata (printed) version, the prints are heat-treated, NOT COATED. All the Aqua Control Plus pads are functionally the same. You are going to enjoy the pad regardless after you break it in for about 2 weeks.

the hiens last about 2 years. After 2 years its unusable to me due to the edges lifting up and the bottom rubber not sticking to the upper layer
