    Great video, thanks for sharing this. Just one thing I'd like to know. I have X1 yoga 1st Gen and it has both SIM and SD card slots. I'd like to make use 4G SIM and i noticed that it doesn't have WAN adapter inside. And even if i buy one, the two cables that connect to the adapter are missing inside the machine. I looked for the 2 cables but can't find them. Has anyone attempted fitting that adapter on this specific model?

    Hi, really enjoyed the video. In the description you said you would show how to add additional M.2 NVME SSD but that didn't happen. Is it possible to have a 2nd SSD drive in this laptop? Or is my only option to upgrade smaller SSD to larger SSD? Thankyou.

    • @fasjackson3588
      @fasjackson3588 Год назад

      It only has the one port, so your only option is to clone your existing drive if you need the data on it to a larger M dot to invert me and then physically swap them. You can get an external USB enclosure for your current drive and use it as a transfer desk after the fact. That’s what I did with mine. I used to make Reem reflect to clone it to a 2 TB NVM E Dr. and then physically swapped them and put my old 256 into the External case for simply moving files around quickly via USB. You can get an external M.two enclosure for roughly 30 bucks give or take depending on the manufacturer on Amazon.

    • @UbergeeksBiz

      No. You would have to replace entire motherboard for that

    • @fasjackson3588
      @fasjackson3588 Год назад

      No, there is no way to do that. You’ve probably moved on since your question as a year old but in order to increase the ram or CPU speed, you’d have to simply swap the entire logic board to one that has higher specs.

    Hey I’m actually in the middle of taking mine apart right now, I spilled an entire glass of orange juice onto the keyboard and I know that it’s “spill proof” but juice decided to leak out of the ports on the right side so I decided to take it apart to get it dry, clean, and assess the damage. I was shocked to find that the only things that the juice touched besides the keys are those ports on the right side and the metal rail on the back right side of the keyboard. I’ve just been using isopropyl alcohol and it’s working but do you have any suggestions before I put it back together and then clean under the keys? This is my first time opening and fixing a laptop/computer in general so I really don’t wanna mess it up if I didn’t already, the only experience I have is modding controllers

      The answer is quite simple, it’s all soldered into the logic board proprietarily. There is no way to unsolder it and solder in hire ram amount or faster. CPU. You have to an exchange the entire motherboard to one with higher specs. Quite common in many different computers, especially Apple products.

      Unfortunately, no, it’s built into the logic board. You would have to replace the entire motherboard with one that has higher ram and a faster CPU in order to upgrade those two components. The only thing you can upgrade here is the solid-state hard drive and of course replace the battery. That’s about it. And the network card, if that went out, you could replace it as well.

      The ram is all manufactured into the motherboard. It cannot be replaced. The only way to increase the ram is to swap the logic port out for one that has a higher amount of ram and if you’re going to do that you may as well get one with a higher processor, speed to possibly. But there’s no way to snap the ram out or unsolder the existing ram or anything like that.
