    Not really a teardown, you just took the back off. Would have been nice to see how to get the front panel with keyboard removed.

    Waiting for the productivity emphasis of a 3:2 aspect ratio like Surface and Huawei. For any width of a panel display, a 3:2 ratio provides more display surface area than a 16:9. Lenovo, put display space in that wide black band at the bottom of your display!

      Higher size screen is also better for most things, including reading anything.
      Myself have 16:10 screen Thinkpad T500 purposely bought after release of T510, which changed to this marketroids screwing consumers to butt 16:9 scam with less image area in bigger laptop!
      T500 is just getting awfully old, so have been looking for modern convertible laptop with quad core CPU and 16GB.
      There just don't seem to be much good options.
      Surface book is disposable fashion toy without any maintence ability, lacking ports and darn highly reflective mirror coated screen.
      At least X1 Yoga's 14" screen would give little more image size over more common 13" convertibles.
      Though I guess better hope it won't get even worser.
      On desktop there's now fad of even more horribly desk space wasting even lower than 16:9 screens thanks to those consumers with more slanted eyes than inuit sun goggles and shit for brains from living mouth in assmosis with marketroids.

    Is there any concern with damaging the screen as it seems a little bendy especially when you put pressure on the corners to open. Would you say it's durable?

    • @ITFIX
      @ITFIX  6 лет назад

      The display is the more coolest thing in this laptop, very thin and little bit flexible to prevent a fracture

    • @jack765ful
      @jack765ful 6 лет назад

      I have one. This is not a concern. The laptop is so light, it is impossible to really open the lid fully by lifting a corner of the lid using one hand. Once opened about 1 ~ 2 inches, the rest of the laptop body comes up with it; too light. So you're anyway forced to use your 2nd hand to complete the opening of the lid.
      Once lid is already open, if you use e.g. right hand on right side of lid, left hand on left side of body, and adjust the degree of opening, the screen does not flex (not bendy). It's really during the initial opening, the hinge seems tighter for the first 1~2 inches.

    Is it reflective display? Strange because on official lenovo site (US) I see following configuration:
    14" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS anti-reflective anti-smudge multi-touch, 300 nits
    14" WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS anti-reflective anti-smudge multi-touch, 300 nits
    14" WQHD (2560 x 1440) IPS anti-reflective anti-smudge multi-touch with Dolby Vision, 500 nits

      I think this is the first one: 14" FHD (1920 x 1080), but you see it's still reflective, especially on a black background,
      anyway in my opinion this is a very high-quality display

    Where do you add/remove additional RAM?

    • @ITFIX
      @ITFIX  6 лет назад

      seesaw Ram is soldered to motherboard

  • @jack765ful

    I wished instead of music, if the guy could just give verbal commentary what he's seeing. I couldn't tell if the chip/module removed at 4min is the RAM. If it is, then RAM isn't soldered onto motherboard as Lenovo says, and could be upgraded. Also, where is the SSD? The battery pack seems to have speaker modules attached to it. Is it easy to replace battery?

    • @sanjanasahu5865
      @sanjanasahu5865 6 лет назад

      The RAM is soldered to the systemboard in x1c gen5, there isn't sockets. The only way to get more memory capacity is very expensive - the systemboard replacement.

      I am thinking of buying an X1 Yoga 3rd gen, I want the integrated mobile broadband feature but on the Lenovo website it says integrated mobile broadband “None” on all the models - is it available or not, do you know?

    • @ITFIX
      @ITFIX  6 лет назад

      I don't have the information about integrated broadband feature, contact the lenovo support team, they most likely will help you with this.

    • @chasvonplatten1298
      @chasvonplatten1298 6 лет назад

      Hi, I had the same issue for a period shortly after this unit was available. Currently, you can configure with WWAN only with display choices one and two. Much to my frustration, when choosing their best display with the 500 nit brightness HDR Dolby, the option to add the 4gLTE is negated. I've placed countless calls to Lenovo for some explaination as to what limiting factor might be, and any possible work around, and sadly the presale employees are talking heads with zero resources or motovation to escalate my calls to anyone qualified to research for answer or solution. Numerous messages left requesting call backs promised and never returned, and plenty of lethargy with insincere apologies, and no ownership. Incidentely, selection of the all but the poorest quality display negates option for infered camera. When selling a top-tier business ultra-book one would think it would be engineered in a fashion to allow buyers to configure with all optimal components. I made a similar attempt on the gen 2, and same limitation if one chose the top display which at that time was the OLED. If this is service pre-sale, buyer beware is all I can say. Unfortunetely this is the way of "customer service" with the rapidly growing technology sector.
