  • There are times when you need to present your Excel chart. And usually if you have Excel, you probably would have PowerPoint. Instead of a static Excel chart, you can make it "dynamic" with the animation features of PowerPoint. This video shows how to animate Excel chart that are pasted into a PowerPoint slide. You can animate the whole chart or specific parts of the chart.

    Hi Doug,
    great video. THX
    Does this work for excel charts which I pasted in as a link? I tried but I don´t find the option for "chart animation". Any idea how the animations can be applied to linked charts?
    Regards,
    Ralf

    Hi very useful! However, after saving my presentation with animated graphs, if I opened it again and I edit anything from the graph all my customised animations get erased and reset to default and I need to re-insert them (delete the series that I don't want to highlight or anything). Is there a way of fixing this and keep these animations fixed?

    • @DougHExcel
      @DougHExcel  3 года назад

      Strange...it shouldn't do that. Tested this with Win10 M365 PPT/Excel by changing color of pie slice after creating animation of linked chart. So don't know what's causing this in your case ¯\_(⊙︿⊙)_/¯

    Hi Great video! Thanks. However, how do I change the order of when the series comes out. Because I have a stacked column, and I want the bottom part of the stack to come out first...but by using "Series" it will bring out the 1st series first which is the top part of the stack column. Much appreciate your reply

    • @DougHExcel
      @DougHExcel  4 года назад

      Not sure about the individual portion of the series...

    After splitting up chart animation "By Series", it displays Series 1 first, then Series 2. Is it possible to make Series 2 show before Series 1? The choice to "Reorder Animation" is disabled.

    • @DougHExcel
      @DougHExcel  7 лет назад

      Yep too bad it doesn't let you reorder it. However the workaround is to remove Series 1 and then use the "Add Animation" command" icon to add it back it and then adjust the timings. It will add the whole group again, but just remove the other elements (i.e., background, Series 2).

    Very useful video. Also good as a drinking game...take a drink every time you say "go ahead" :-) If you listen to any instance that you say it you could simply not say it. It's just a verbal habit. Don't feel bad; many US RUclips tutorial presenters do the same thing.
