Thanks Martin for the suggestion. I haven't used that method in a long time. As most presentations are now online (via teams / zoom), I just switch to Excel and show them the charts natively. So much better.

Any way we can make the ppt charts dynamic while importing the excel charts? Whenever my excel charts change I always need to click on the edit chart from excel option in PowerPoint, let me know if there's a better way to do it .

Hey, Chandoo. I have a large dataset and I created a pivot table of it. I noticed that the Grand total of a column for example Sales is not same the original dataset. Despite spending hours I couldn’t find why pivot showing wrong grand total.
Hi Manish.. that depends on what filters you have and how you are calculating the values. I can't give a more specific answer. I suggest posting the problem in a forum like stackoverflow.

I think you can maintain the linkage between Excel and PPT. That way the chart update is automatic. Let me check.

I am using Office 365. This trick should work in most versions of PowerPoint though. Triggers have been around for a long time.
