He used a formula of linking the cell
If you noticed there is a sign of equals to "=".. for linking the cell you just need to go to the cell where you want to link and then press equals to button of the keyboard and then select the cell which you want to link the one with the information... Then whenever you change the figure it will automatically link with the cell where you type equals to

As long as the person you are emailing the PP too has access to the location of the excel file, otherwise it will simply just not update
