Phew, it's a good thing Alex had such positive things to say (in fact so many of the things you said I completely agree with). Absolute genius band. All the weirdness, idiosyncrasies and ugliness are a part of why they're so good. Rex Irea is outstanding. Tom Warrior being salty was pretty accurate though. That tickled me.
I think Tom has been legit depressed since his shitty childhood and usually with good reasons, latest being Martin Ein and Giger dying who were his best friends
With you, Alex. Have got almost all their stuff - Warrior's riffs and crazy solos are a treat. Hellhammer had to be the heaviest stuff out in 1984 - Triumph of Death and St Vitus' Burial At Sleep are nastiest things put out in that year
Whew! I’m in the Alex camp on this one but he still missed the classic and Mike, I dunno what to say to you . “To Mega Therion” is one of the greatest metal albums ever made. It’s still in heavy rotation for me and I can’t believe you didn’t even mention the song “Circle of the tyrants”, which is a classic. They admit one is stronger on punk, the other on metal but damn Mike you acted like aliens had made that record and I was really bewildered. Also, I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced mono-theist, that’s a word. It means one god. C’mon dudes! 😂
Being from Pittsburgh, I noticed two Pittsburgh connections in this episode. Mantic Ritual is from here and I occasionally see their singer around. Nice guy. Also, Ron Marks is from around here. For a brief time he played in a local industrial dance band called Mace, but now he releases REALLY crappy solo material that’s like a combination of blues and nu metal.
I didn't get into Celtic Frost until Monotheist, so the old albums don't have the same reverence for me as they would the O.G. fans. I can see why people like the original albums, but I can also see why someone would dislike them as well. This is probably a controversial opinion, but I would love to see Triptykon remake an album like To Mega Therion. Cavalera Conspiracy recently did that with Sepultura's first album and it sounds incredible, so a To Mega Therion remake could really breathe new life into that record.

Rags on Celtic Frost first 3 releases, has a framed Deafheaven picture. Ok.......
"by today's standards this is about as regular metal as it gets"
Duh - where do you think they all got it from?

On the Frost tribute album, Cianide does a mega-heavy version of Dawn of Meggido
if you guys want a heavy version of Procreation then listen to Mortician's cover of it.
Dethroned Emperor used riff from Am I Evil by Diamond Head and made it more nasty
Pandemonium and Cold Lake sucked. Especially Cold Lake
Has anyone suggested you doing Every album ever for Frank Zappa? 😂😂😂
"That's a Danzig thing"
Jesus it is not - everyone knows that is the Tom Warrior "Ugh"
This episode is so annoying smh
Tom Warrior is metal Guy Fieri
Keep eating that pineapple pizza Alex 👍👍
mike not know metal
Cold Lake sucks but Downtown Hanoi is surprisingly good
This is by far the worst episode you've ever done that I've seen. 24 minutes in and I have to turn it off. At least Alex gets it.
Please quit letting alex talk...his voice is awful...I love the podcast..but Alex's voice makes me want to break my headphones and stomp on my phone
It’s gotten better.
