Absolutely agree, just discovered Frost and the monotheist album is top 5 for me, blew me away, and the best of all their albums imo, heavy and dark and a completely underrated band. 🤘🏻

And i am grateful to have seen most of them live🤘🤘🥰🤘🤘 Please don't get me wrong. I think it's awesome that they're still playing. And everytime i get the opportunity i still attend their concerts 🤘🥰🤘
It was in 1985 when I got into Celtic Frost for the first time. Rock and Roll Heaven was around the corner from my house in Clark, NJ, the retail outlet of Megaforce Records. My dad owned a funeral home where my band would cover iron maiden songs. We played the first three Maiden albums with dead bodies in my basement. I miss those days as I miss him. My mother wanted that store out of my town and did all in her power to shut that place down. She wanted it gone and invented the rumors about that place that continues to circulate in Clark even today. My dad saved the genre of music we all love from my mom's rumor mongering back then, at least Megaforces store in Clark. He prevented her from going to the mayor and getting it thrown out of town. RIP Mrs Zazula.
Saw them at the eagles club in the early 80s with I think voi vod or slayer, hard to remember now. I think I still have some of Toms hair on me from trying to pull him into the pit.
+Kerry Fischer Well there was black sabbath before so i think the doom in celtic frost music is pretty much influenced by black sabbath...but yeah CF definitly put the bar to a more extreme doomish sound.

They turn the tone knob all the way down on their guitars and then turn all the knobs up on the amp, besides the gain knob. That stays in the middle lol. So you cut all the treble then add it back with the amp. That’s what gives them their signature fat as Mother Earth midrange heavy guitar tone lol
Actually its a Marshall JCM800 dirty channel with Ibanez Tubescreamer at max but you can achive this sound with every high gain tube amp like Mesa Rec , 5150 , ENGL . The key is the Tubescreamer as a boost for the distortion channel to get that extra nasty gain .
