Triptykon is a musical project of Thomas Gabriel Fischer, founding member of the pioneering heavy metal bands Hellhammer, Celtic Frost and Apollyon Sun. Fischer announced his departure from Celtic Frost in May 2008 and shortly afterwards revealed his new project would be entitled Triptykon. The name of the band is a play on the word "triptych", because Triptykon is founding member Thomas Gabriel Fischer's third project after Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. The band logo is inspired by a writing pattern used in Weimar Republic

WOW.. SEVEN YEARS AGO,MY MOM DIED in my arms after a full month of intense suffering, this year, in her anniversary, I played " OBSCURED" to remind her demise,it was not for her,really, but for me, as it reflects the state of mind I beared in her last stand, the feeling of knowing there was no hope in sight and almost tasted death along with her... OBSCURED brings me peace and, strangely enough, the solace of being sure her pain is over, finally ,as a way to endure the years to come with some peace of mind ... Thanks for such masterpiece,Tom, I'm sure you understand completely this experience... Just my comment, peace...

There's something very unique about Celtic Frost/Tryptikon. Something dark and enchanting. Simone Vollenweider's haunting vocals are also a beautiful addition. Love this whole concert. Thank you for the upload.

The two songs with Simone are amazing! The Best of both worlds, one from Celtic Frost and one from Triptykon.

If live concerts are still a thing in the future, Tom G. should take Triptykon on the road and do an "Evening With" tour. 1 Hour of Triptykon , intermission, 1 hour of Celtic Frost. A little taste of both. Everyone is happy.

Amazing show, i didn't really knew them aside from the name but it's been one of the bst shows of this year's wacken, and definitely my favorite one after Borknagar. Hearing that bass from the second row was incredible

Ich hab nachts beim zappen über die TV Kanäle das Ende von dem Konzert gesehen, glaub auf einen der ZDF Spartenkanäle, und war sofort gefangen. Danke Mike für's hochladen, so konnte ich doch das ganze Konzert sehen. Ich frag mich grad ob das überhaupt noch zu toppen ist ... den schlechten Wacken Sound lass ich aussen vor ... glaub Triptykon hat sich mit dem Set echt ein Denkmal gesetzt. Für mich ist es nach dem Abschiedskonzert von Theatre of Tragedy ein weiteres unvergleichbares Highlight. Na ja ... und Vanja ist eine wirklich Süsse ... Kiss!

I remember listening to Hellhammer in 1983 and I was like holy shit, but many people thought they sucked. Fast forward 40 years and these guys are legends....go figure
Loving the faster version of Morbid Tales, Circle of the Tyrants and The Usurper. Lonhard is playing the Celtic Frost material better than any of the actual Celtic Frost drummers.

Love the sludge metal rendition of Procreation of the Wicked. Thomas G Fischer has to be the most metal person on the planet, although Matt Pike (High on Fire) and Jus Oborn (Electric Wizard) would be close contenders

Okay, i love Celtic Frost as much as everyone else, but when i go see Triptykon at a huge festival, i want to hear Tryptikon play tryptikon. They have 2 stellar albums filled with excelent tracks they could have played. Sure, i would appreciate it if they played 1 or 2 Celtic Frost songs, but making the majority of the setlist covers seems like a blatant disregard of their pre-existing discography.

I think they did this because the crowd at Wacken is mostly not that knowledgable about non mainstream bands. When I saw them in 2015 at Brütal Assault they played 2 Celtic frost songs and 1 by Helhammer, the rest was all Triptykon.
Well to be fair, one of the Triptykon songs is 20 mins long lol but I hear u.
On a side note, it's uncanny how much Isaak's Clockwork Orange avatar looks like Tom these days!
100% agree! You have to move forward and they're writing such amazing music. That is the the future! Like sure, maybe play Circle of the Tyrants doing more than 2 covers is pretty ridiculous!
