- In this video, I restore an Xbox 360 Elite console with a sought-after Jasper v2 (or Kronos) motherboard. The Xbox disc drive isn't ejecting properly.
To fix the drive I had to replace the elastic band that allows the disc tray to open. they can be purchased from my Amazon affiliate link below:

I've now watched everything you have done. My hats off to you, sir. Great job on everything.
Thank you, friend!
That spring replacement idea never occurred to me before, it's so simple and yet I've never thought of it! That would have come in handy so many times in the past. Thanks for sharing!
That was some fine work there! I've been looking for smaller tech repair channels to watch for a while now, though all I seem to find 80% of the time is either clickbait or the person has no idea what they are doing. So im glad I was able to find your channel. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the kind words!
I just picked up an Elite with the Kronos chip for $10 and Goodwill. This video will help me restore this beauty. Thanks.
Thank you for restoring this beauty of a console!
Lovely relaxing teardown and cleanup, enjoyed watching and may be using this as a semi-cleanup guide in the future when I move to RGH the elite that just came in the mail. Thanks!
Thanks for watching :)
Man you are soooo underrated, you deserve more
Thank you! 🥰
Yes he does! The patients, the temperament to sit there and move the camera and make all these positions happen! Also not to mention that he has a great camera, unlike most mediocre RUclips channels.
Amazing work with that spring. You might also consider giving it a fine grit sand and some spray paint to fix up the appearance
Thank you! I only wish I could have gotten the USB port sorted, but it was honestly impossible to fix it, the way it broke
Thank you for this video. I found an oddity, a Jasper 1 board with a Kronos board from July 2009, and I'm using this guide to help me safely take apart and clean this.
Best looking console ever made, got myself a mint 2010 serviced Falcon and it is hard not to look at even when playing games, good vid boss
Love the content, I am sure you will get to 10k subs very soon!
Maybe someday! Thank you!!
My favorite motherboard jasper because the durability is guaranteed
I've been using jasper since 2010 till now and still working fine
I used this board in my latest video if you haven’t seen it yet - I love it! I just need a quieter fan
The way you cut your videos looks great. I should probably implement something like that in my videos to make them not so lengthy. Great job with that spring by the way! DIY is always best.
Thank you so much!
The spring trick WOW! Also, do you thing your wrists would like it if you bought a power screwdriver?
I’ve thought about it! I feel like I’d be more likely to strip screw heads, although I’ve never tried one of the handheld ones - are they good?
@@RestorationRelaxation do it! Save time, save money!!
Really thanks for spring.
Glad it helped!

Fight the system. 🤘

good job on fixing this console, i've noticed that almost every jasper/jasper v2 has the exact same issues as yours (extremely dusty or dead disc drive), yet they still work, but i've seen Xenon and Zephyrs have RROD or not even turn on that have no dust or very little use. really shows how Microsoft improved the 360 as the years went by
The issue wasn't even heat in the first place. Yes, it was heat-related, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the peak temperature, but rather the fact that it would heat up and cool down when the console was turned on or off respectively. The GPU's die was connected to the substrate/interposer through a bunch of microscopic solder bumps (they're SIGNIFICANTLY smaller than the solder balls on the BGA itself) that are usually protected against issues with an underfill underneath the die. However, ATI (who made the chips for the 360) used the wrong type of underfill that would fail and cause the GPU to stop working. A lot of people have tried to "fix" the issue by doing reballs/reflows, however, these were only temporary and the issue would usually come back within 2-3 months. The late-Falcons/Opus, all Jasper V1s, and especially the Jasper V2s had fixed versions of the GPU that had the correct underfill and therefore wouldn't fail. Some Xenons that were sent in after a certain period of time would also get a fixed GPU known as the 80nm Elpis.
Great Job. I Like seeing your channel Grow...
Thank you!
i threw a coolrunner rev c in mine with the Xenon cpu heatsink with arctic mx4👌🏻 she runs great!
Broke the top part of my console doing this 👍
RIP
How you don't gag while cleaning this, I have no idea. Made of strong stuff!
Good channel. I follow you from argentina.
Thank you!
can you use some sort of grease on the fan bearings to quieten it down ?
Good job. Keep up the content.
Thank you!
I like your videos
Thank you very much!
Thanks for showing :)
I have a 2007 model it still works I just have to change the shell
I saw a few years ago, a guy that instead of a spring for the usb cover, he cut a small piece of a flexometer and uses as spring. I did and ita alittle bit harder to open but now it closes.
The USB cover was very frustrating. The plastic piece that held the spring in place was broken, and the whole mechanism was just a mess. I probably spent at least two or three hours trying to get it fixed.
does the disk tray closes fine after the cleaning? I have it in the same state wondering if this could fix it.
Works perfectly
@@RestorationRelaxation cool, there's so much problems that no one really know the answer to with that generation of consoles.
1/10 tell me how hard it is to rgh an Xbox do u think I should buy one or do it myslef
How much experience do you have with soldering and tinkering around with computers?
Where does the Falcon fit in as a version of the console? .5 model?
Wow, that's a lot of Thermal Paste.
The inevitable thermal paste comment :)
Great Job...``©💯™
👍🥀
I have lost my power cable on the same xbox, any idea of where to get one? I want to use it again so bad
What kind of screw driver is used at 2:45?
Xbox 360 Kronos Master Race
is it not risky using a brush on the motherboard?
@@owaisrafiq6810 nah
you havent even seen mine i bought it second hand and its rusting away with cockroaches inside
Some of the metal on my Xbox 360 Elite is bent so i can’t close it all the way
8:04 That could have damaged the motherboard of the Xbox 360.
80% from the 360 fat´s i have made with rgh1.2. Look´s like this console. It´s normal !
Hey,i'm from Morrocco and i like to move working in usa, can you help me to find a job over there plz?
"dirtiest one yet" ... yeah, you mean, more to come? This isn't that bad, I've seen much more gross consoles and computers in the past ;-)?
A while back I unfortunately opened an Xbox FULL of roaches. Too bad I didn’t have a channel then
I once fixed a 360 elite too and it’s inside was coated in dust it made my allergies bad
@@Krait-sd7sh one of the slims I fixed was so dusty, I had to wear an N95 to breathe without gagging
Hola
why you need 360 now ? museum ?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
"Kronos" doesn't exist, that's just a myth.
Nope. It’s a v2 Jasper.
@@RestorationRelaxation Yes, there's two models of jaspers, just the term "kronos" doesn't exist. It's a myth. The original free60 team, which had dissected every 360 motherboard, and many other experts, has stated there really is no difference between the two.
It’s printed on the chip. I’ve just stripped and cleaned a console.
@@brendan_waugh No such thing as a Jasper "kronos".
@@rob831 ok, you go off what you read, I’ll go off mine.
Hey FYI that not an elite
How so?
@@RestorationRelaxation an elite says so on the back and the disk drive is different that's just a normal Xbox 360 fat jasper
