  • Restoration and repair a broken and dead XBOX 360
In this video, you will see a full episode of restoring and repairing of a dead Xbox 360, also you can see a technic to find out how to silence the Xbox 360 fans.
From the outside, the front panel was broken, the machine was heating up quickly, and the disk drive and fan were making horrible noises. After opening the Xbox, I noticed something interesting. Most of the metal panel under the frame was rusted due to spilling liquid, and this damage caused by the solution also damaged the main board and parts of the board were corroded. Also, after opening the heatsinks, I realized that the thermal paste of this Xbox 360 had not been replaced for a long time and the device was practically without silicone paste, which justifies the extremely high temperature of the device. To fix a dead Xbox 360 laser, there is a lot of advice to be found on the internet, most of which are hard to understand. I was looking for a simple home solution to repair my Xbox 360 disc drive. First of all, the laser should be cleaned using cotton swab and alcohol. If this does not work, the next solution can be used. The cost of a replacement disk drive is relatively high. For this, which is known as laser adjustment or pot tweak, using a multimeter and a screwdriver, reduce the laser resistance step by step and with very short increment and after each step, you should test the disk drive to see if it works or not, until the laser is able to read the games. Note that values smaller than 3 can burn your laser in general. So do not rush to do this.
Also, the loud noise of the fans was due to their being dirty and not lubricated. In this video, you can see how to silence the Xbox 360 fans. Actually I wasn't able to find out how to lubricate Xbox 360 fans on the internet, So I tried to test it and it worked. The sound of the disk drive was also due to its box not being tight, which was also resolved.
I also used hydrogen peroxide and UV light to remove the plastic yellowing caused by the aging of the Xbox 360, which made all the yellowing disappear.

Id like to add, this is a Jasper motherboard specifically the v2 or the kronos, meaning it is the most reliable you can get on an xbox 360 phat. Restoring this is a grat idea and did a grat job doing so.

This ain't a Kronos, the Kronos (Tonasket) doesn't use the two part GPU heatsink

Este video me pone algo triste. Solo fue limpieza, no hubo nada de restauración o reparación y hasta le quita emoción al video. De todos modos dejo mi sub y like

So you can literally just push the fans out like that to clean and lube them up? I will have to do this to my 360.
