Try this 10 minute breathworks session with Jamie Clements and see how you feel. I find it to be EXTREMELY helpful for my golf and whenever I have a big round or competition, I do this session to feel and play better.

Saved! Thank you for the very timely post and for introducing me to Jamie's work. I have used variations of NLP and Mindfulness, but as with a lot of self improvement, the practice is easy to dismiss and shelve until later (which of course, never comes). Until I end up in a full scale panic attack.
The full interview as well was very thought-provoking.
I can definitely squeeze a 9 minute exercise into my morning prep but I feel this will also be taken with me in parts throughout my day. The box breath in particular to help give me back some control when the panic comes will be a useful tool and far more practical than a face plunge into cold water 😂

Ultra-relaxing!
I have “white coat” syndrome . . . BP spirals upward when visiting a new doctor. I’ve learned to settle it by breathing 2 counts in, exhaling 4 counts out through the mouth. After a few reps, making sure to relax my shoulders and neck, my BP is ready for the “cuff”.
I’ve learned to use it on the Tee Box as I await my turn.

I did try it in the car but my stress levels increased after closing my eyes and hitting the car in front 😉 Actually I do try this in the car (with eyes open😂) having learnt about breathing exercises a few years ago - it really does make a difference.

Iona your work is fabulous, not sure if you have the ability to database your comments, but you should, I know you're trying to assist us handicap golfers, however, you'd make a fortune with your insights. I do these meditative/yoga types of exercises in my daily life, and its great, however, in golf, I have worked on your take away exercise, its simply changed my golf, almost playing par golf at 60 years of age,. 5 - 8 shot improvement resulting in a 6.5 index and dropping, and for the first time in many years I'm beating the index regularly even though i play on course very rarely, damn work!!

Personally use visualisation. Read fellow Scot Robin Sieger's book "Silent Mind Golf".... Has transformed my game!
