The guy builds a studio, builds all his effects units, writes songs, plays songs, produces songs, and scores with one of the best all time rock albums ever recorded.... Unreal.
Multi talented MIT genius.
Could be the biggest mistake in their run, but the final product is definitely an all time rock record! When I was a kid around the late 90s I liked stuff like Floyd and Rush more, but bands like Journey with their early stuff, and Boston really stood out to me. I saw a comment about how somebody listened to this song more than any other, and that could be the case with me lol something about this song keeps it in my top 10 of any genre!
... In a basement.
Guy never has a cheeseburger again.
tom never had another succesful album since then..
This singer is fantastic and is carrying on the Boston legacy with respect and authenticity
Yeah! Brad Delp even has to be clapping for him up there. (RIP to the departed great singer)
Tom Scholz is one of a kind musician and composer of our time.
Freaking tom scholtz so underrated. Boston should be in hall of fame
Boston is in our hearts ❤
2:27 The passion on Tom's face gave me goosebumps.
That would be the look of peace of mind.
I've listened to this song probably more times than any other song in my long life....and I still get chills every time I hear it.
I pointed that out to myself some time ago. Feeling satisfied is the one that always gives me chills.
No u don’t
AMEN....ME TOO.....THE WHOLE DAMN ALBUM.....one of very few albums i could , and do , listen to every day and i never get tired of it
@@jamesdavison2927 YUP!!!!!!
Same
Vocalist does Brad lots of respect, great job.
The first three albums were the soundtrack of my life in the 80's
TS with the iconic gold top Les Paul. I saw Boston in 1977 when they toured for the first album.
Me too, not only did you hear the music but you felt it as well. Those were the days, only if we had known they would go by so fast we might have slowed down a little and really soaked it all in. Oh the memories.
I gotta say Boston has and always will be a unique sound and quality. The new guy is no Brad Delp but there was only one Brad Delp. He doin a good job for Tommy and the band.
Brad Delp is one of the best male rock vocalists of all time
Adrian Tomlin she show must go on. Ironic that Aerosmith got this far
The guy sounds like Brad to me.
@curragh 42 Nope, just an unbiased, honest assessment.
@curragh 42 No doubt, Brad Delp is a legend and one of my favorite singers. This guy does an awesome job though I really can't see anybody doing any better than this guy. I watched a full concert and enjoyed every minute of it.
Legendary! In a 100 years this song will still be just as epic.
In the 1980's, this was my favorite song. And today still is and always will be!!
Tom keeping that fabulous guitar sound that I remember back in 1978 .👍😎
Tom Scholz created such sweet guitar harmonies and melodic leads. Singer's pretty darn good.
Love the closeup zoom in on Mr. Scholz as he closes his eyes and pours himself into those melodic leads. Nice video!
This guy has GREAT vocals, and especially for his age! Can you imagine what his voice sounded like when he was in his 20s and 30s if it sounds this good now live?
Good ol Boston. Still sound pretty fricken good 40 years later. RIP Brad Drop.
Delp.
i was 17 when i first heard this song
had the vinyl...now i am 60
still dig this
One of the BEST debut albums ever! Every song is still amazing 45 years later.
Never knew they got a new singer he is good!
Love how Tom Scholz has his big strobe tuner on a stand off to his right. Great band and great performance.
Tommy does Brad justice, and that's high praise. Well done! Boston has been my favorite band since the first album first came out. All good wishes!
Not a chance. Brad Delp is a top 5 male rock vocalist of all time. Tommy can't say that, in the least....
@@JudoChamp You're right about Brad. He was the best. However, this wasn't a competition, and I didn't say Tommy was as good, only that he did Brad justice. Thank you for your response, as it was a good chance to clarify the matter. All good wishes, good sir!
He started off good, but he's lost it on this one.
Just finished watching "Tom Scholz: Sound Machine" here and I gotta say the man is an under rated genius. His inventions towards guitar tones are still being used today. Brilliant. Wish the band would come to Alberta. I'd travel for that!
Agree!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ah ah I just did that, that's because I got here, cheers
Just happened upon this... WOW, Tom was still spot on
This is one heck of a Phenomenal Band These Guys are so Talented 😊😊😊😊😊😊!!
I had Front Road for this concert right in front of Tom Schultz he threw me his pick!!! Awesome time
Awesome,give you$50 for it
@@skipmagil 🤣🤣🤣
The show was in the road? lol
John Jay I can’t tell if you’re joking...😅
This is a great live version of this great song from their immense debut album(one of the best ever). Great how they manage to reproduce that sound on stage.
Loving all the pick slides and iconic riffs!!! Thanks for all the great music connected to my life.
Glad to see Boston still touring. They sound great.
The crowd sure knows the songs and riffs.
Me and my daddy Kent when he was alive shared the same love for Kansas and Boston we listened to there music on a cassetevtape and again I think the band b9ston is awesome I just wish when I was a kid my daddy Kent freydl got to meet the band in see the concert but he home w the Lord Jesus Christ luv your music
Band sounds awesome...singer sounds great...Scholz fuckin' rocks... I'm so grateful to hear this music live again
what a great singer!!!!
Still sounding brilliant..great job new vocalist...RIP Brad...
He couldn't have got a better replacement singer!!! He does an excellent job!!!
Scholz may have gotten older but he can still ROCK
I think he sounds better in this video compared to a video where he's playing in 1979
Absolutely a Masterpiece!!!
A new era in music , a new era in Bostone
My most beloved Rock Band since the mid 70th.... live sooo awesome ! BOSTON ❤
Great songs will, generally, always be great songs and this lineup does a pretty damn respectable job of getting the Boston "sound"- as if a perfectionist like Tom Scholz would settle for less. He is the protector of his own huge musical legacy and I can't imagine he would be out playing if he wasn't happy with the sound. Perhaps I am stuck in a musical "time warp", but this song is one that I loved way back and still do - that first Boston album is, for mine, one of the great debut albums of all time. The harmony guitars are still spot on and the new vocalist sounds pretty good, as do the harmonies. Okay, there was only one Brad Delp and his loss was a tragedy, but the music lives on and that is a good thing in my book.
Tom rockin' that ole Rockman !!
Remember listening to this album with my headphones ....
Brilliant recording....
Tommy turned out to be a great choice to take over the vocals. Such great music. Look at Tom enjoying the flow. Awesome.
Tommy decarlo does a great job rip Brad
So much better job than sweet did.
I agree but he really should get some “rock n’ roll band front man lessons”.
You can learn how to be a great frontman but you can't (for the most part) learn how to have an amazing voice, it's something you're born with. It's something Tommy was born with and of course something Brad was born with. He sounds great job here. He actually had pretty good stage presence in a video I saw recorded in 2014.
Damn after all those years TS plays the solo perfect.
That’s freaky , most people would see there favorite rock musician and wouldn’t say a word if they fudge just a bit .
Tom is a perfectionist and it shows.
Peace of mind, dream on.. Kind of an epic and worth listening to in a row. Best of the best.
Great that it was on fire and we played it over and over again in Denver. We moved back home to Detroit a few months later. What were my friends and I back home doing then?Playin' it over and over-BOSTON.Where the hell was the fire dept.?
One of the most iconic guitar tones in rock history, engineering degree doesn’t hurt, this guy & Brian May could literally build a rocket. & play world class guitar in your off time lol. .
That would be a great interview
I hope this band is in the Rocks Hall of Fame 😊😊😊😊😊😊!!
when that harmony part hits in the guitar solo 😱😱😱😱♥️♥️♥️
So tight. Real pros.
Tom Schultz Master musician
Tom Sholtz, creates this in his basement and leaves his engineering job at Polaroid to make the monster that is Boston. Thank you Tom!
The guitarist still amazing and cool like an oldtime....👍👍✌✌ evergreen........
My all time fav Boston song, one of my all time rock favorites.
Absolutely incredible. Sounds great!
tom sholz is a mad scientist on that les paul .....nailing it note for note!
This sounds pretty damn good man. Unlike some other bands that try as they might really can’t cut it anymore.
They sound great. Great singer. It slows the band to keep playing and sounding like Boston should sound. Great job guys.
DeCarlo is a man with a gigantic brass set to get up on stage and do his best Brad Delp. He does him justice and pays respectful tribute to that great man.
The greatest outro ever in a song period! MURICA!!!!!!
Yep Boston is still Boston to a certain point. Great job. R.I.P. Mr. Delp! 😥❤
We can argue where each of the best guitarists fall in the top 10 but Tom is definitely on that list.
The guy is a master at creating a whole new sound that is instantly connected as that Boston sound.
What was always so impressive to me is how Tom could write in a major key. It’s more common for hard rock to be written in a minor key. Added to the uniqueness of their sound and is a total departure for me as a player.
That does it.
I've set my home system to this as reference.
I know a solo by Mr. Scholz that's played with the hyperspace pedal yet I manage it with a delay and floating trem.
Mr. Scholz. = My PTSD medication.
Good job, Tommy DeCarlo🙂👍
The lead singer did an excellent job. Brad IMHO would be proud!
They're sooo good
I LUV how the songs runs and runs.
It might happen, if they don't stop, I'll listen it as long I forget to eat and drink, ha ha!
WOW ! Love this song ..
Spectacular
I love Tom!
Awesomely cool!
Thom scholz timeless
Tom......... the brain 🎶🎶🎶🎶
Props to the lead singer...Boston lives
Always great show 👌 👍 from Boston. Can't wait to see them 😁 again. After this whole Corona night mare is over maybe in. 2021.
Do what you can. Wear a mask.
The music Tom created was absolute Magic, but without Brad Delp's incredible vocals, I doubt we would have ever heard of Boston? I can't even watch these videos post Brad Delp. You can't replace a singer like him.
Mon meilleur à vie!!!
The singer is doing a excellent job..!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Tommy DeCarlo fits in great.
Honestly what a great band 💪🏻👌🏻👍🏻
Those are some huge shoes to fill. He does it well.
Boston que super canción muy muy emotiva y hermosa esa guitarra.... Siempre una Les Paul es absolutamente formidable.
A letra dessa música é muito atual, parabéns ao Boston!
OK, such big boots to fill but this guy really is doing a brilliant job up there.
Augusta, Ga will welcome you back!
Great chorus!! Great!!
What is amazing is Tom being an engineer, you can see he developed what would be called the string butler back in the early 70's. He had already figured how to keep his Les Paul Guitar in tune.
Tom Schultz your band was lots I imagine ation
Very cool!
Wish these guys would do a tour next year.
Incredible bass tone
I saw Boston with Styx back in 2008, and Tommy was had short hair at the time, and the whole time he sang, I vibed really hard that Dante from 'Clerks' was killing it all along.
q lindo es ¡!!!!!!!!🤗🤗🤗
A melhor !!!
You go Sholzee
Great video
Ok Tom!!!! I see you man
Tommy's story is such a great one. I'm so glad the band is continuing on, the music is so damn GREAT!
Singer dude killin it.
