- my intentions for this video are not for sympathy, but to encourage others to be resilient and to continue to pursue what makes them happy. i'm not perfect and i do not want to come across as such, so here i am being vulnerable in the hopes that someone else will benefit from what i have to say!

Watching your video, I can tell you, that I can relate in so many levels. Being independent back in college to being back home as dependent it’s hard. But like you say you have to keep on pushing and working hard towards your goals. Your a sweet & bubbly girl, ever since I met you, and I know you’ll be an amazing nurse. There is no shame, we all fail at things but the most important is that we get back up! Just like you have! Thank you for sharing, ❤️ you have inspired and motivated me to keep on pushing.

I just failed at lamar as well. Im slightly distraught but I think I'll be okay. I'm trying to stay positive because people (ex: you and I) are not dumb, it just takes certain people more skill/work to be able to do well. I'm realizing I need to switch a few things up which I thought I had together but I am sad 🙃
yes i love how you said we aren’t dumb. for so long after that semester i told myself i wasn’t smart enough until i realized circumstances just were not ideal for me. being in nursing school again, i’ve realized that i’m right where i’m supposed to be! don’t be sad, recognize all that you’ve accomplished so far. your time will come and when it does you’ll be so happy it didn’t work out the first time!

I'm a pre nursing student struggling with anxiety in this damn quarantine! My TEAS test and cna program were both cancelled. You gave me hope to keep studying for my teas test and pursing nursing! Thanks sis!!!

Thank you for this video. I am a pre nursing student. And I graduated from college with a C average GPA. I am taking intro to anatomy and physiology this summer. And lord my understanding of the concepts it’s not there. I barely passed my first quiz. I was about to drop the class yesterday. And I’m like no I have to keep fighting. I am very hard on myself and I don’t have the most positive mindset. Or positive person either. I have thoughts where I’m like I may not be smart enough or nursing may not be for me. I’m like I don’t see myself doing anything else. I don’t want to let myself down or let anybody else down either.
it’s all mindset! you have to tell yourself that you are good enough, smart enough, and worthy of the degree! trust god and the process and everything will happen the way it is meant to! this happened 5 years ago for me and i felt like i’d never see the day but i’m now a nurse and this all feels like yesterday! you are right where you are supposed to be!

Tomar Thomas I’m thinking maybe a photography challenge. I’ll get sine photography friends and we’ll do a shoot with different obstacles (no looking through the viewfinder, one shot only, 30 second total, using a prop, etc.) you can be the model! I made a video with Ivette doing one. It’s on my channel so you can watch it to see what I mean.
So happy you continued to pursue your passion and didn't let any negativity hold you back from what you truly desire. I'm sure you will become an awesome nurse and continue to be proud of all your accomplishments.....why look back at the past when a great future is ahead!!! Thanks for sharing with us.

How long did it take for you to get in another program?
a year and a half! i completed a different degree first at Lamar and then once i graduated i got right back into another program the upcoming fall. it took me almost a year to really focus in on finding a different school, but i just did a lot of research and contacted many schools!
Tomar Thomas did you include on your application you attended nursing school and dropped out?
Jamie Fit Yes, the school I go to asked us to write a passion statement about our journey to get into nursing and why we wanted to be a nurse so I included my situation in that!
