    All the negative comments just go to show that bullying is the #1 complaint of new nurses.

    i feel so bad reading some of the comments. you already mentioned you’re a nursing student and you’re still learning. i’m a nursing student myself and i couldn’t help but feel terrible about how people reacted. my lab doesn’t have enough money to keep supplying a bunch of materials either and for most of it we have to pay for (which is only a limited amount of equipment to use so you have to keep reusing things). obviously in a medical setting this would never happen, but when you’re learning it’s okay to make mistakes (in the laboratory setting), as of now there’s a professor to help teach you and other instructors. i’m sure a lot of the comments have good intent and only want to make sure no one is harmed, but you’re still learning and you got this! you will be a great nurse someday (if not already) 💓

    Wipe the skin before to allow at least 10 seconds to dry
    Based on the amount of liquid and the size of the needle, this is an IM injection so always go in at 90 degrees (sub-q can be 45 if pt is skinny)
    Since the needle is not a blunt needle access device and looks like it has a bevel, it’s definitely okay to stick the pt with it (just keep in mind that some solutions will need a blunt access device because they’re thicker!)
    The best thing ab labs is you get to make all the mistakes before you get on the floor. Keep practicing girly!

    • @jillibear
      @jillibear Год назад +22

      What do you mean? All those c-19 shots were given by drawing the liquid into the syringe and then directly injecting that into the person. I've seen it done on me and all the other ppl in line. Same for the flu shot and the mandatory one you get in school (I think was hpv and hep b). Oh and the mumps/measles/rubella one was done by the dr in the same manner.

    • @HazelB1286
      @HazelB1286 11 месяцев назад

      @jillibear there not meant to, the needle is supposed to be changed! Flu vaccines are in pre filled syringes so I'm not sure what ur seeing there and cov9d shots are meant to have needle changes as is everything but ppl are lazy. When you have an injection and it hurts a lot it's probably a blunt needle. Same as blood taking, if u miss that vein u should change the needle, but yet I see nurses use the same one again, I always change mine. Crazy!

    The worst part is not being able to actually use the disposable supplies because they save them for reuse! Its completely different in a hospital setting where you have to tear off a wrapper, pop off a vial cap, open an alcohol swab and change the needles - all without laying anything down.
