Very interesting. I know people that have been diagnosed with hiatal hernia and have been told they don't need repair. Yet they suffer with reflux.
To have it repaired makes total sense to me.
Hummm. Thanks for this video. Much appreciated!

after noticing a strange lump above my groin, i went to my GP, she examined me and confiirmed i have a double hernia. This was 6 months ago. All she said was if it starts to hurt go straight to A&E.

She sure looks like Shannon Doherty. Well this was great, but some points I think of are: Does gaining a lot of weight increase the risk of getting a hernia? And I know that my body started to sag in my '50's and I did the kegal exercises but often got lazy and I wonder if that contributed to my 3 hernias. And doctor! No mention of the mesh, which is my big hesitation in going in for the surgery. Perhaps it's in another video? Funny when you say get a good exam if you think you have a hernia. I went to THREE different doctors, 2 of whom were hernia specialists, and they wouldn't even look at me! Just wanted to plan the surgery. I had to kind of encourage them to take a look at least. Whew. Guess I still won't go in yet.

Why do you need surgery if your hernia doesn't hurt?

That can depend on the individual person's needs. We recommend speaking with your provider as they will be able to help you make the best decision for your health.
