From Australia I was struck down with this over fifty years ago and there was only ten known cases in the world. I was one one of them. I lost the use of my legs was put into hospital. I was given injections of vitamin b. I was told I would not walk again but I walked out of the hospital with difficulties. I had lots of numbness and pins and needles for over twelve months. Although I have damaged nerves in both legs I am still walking around and I am in my eighties. I also lost the reflexes in my knees.I just want to encourage those who are going through this to not give up keep fighting. I was determined I was going to walk out of the hospital and I did. At that time I also had three young children and that gave more determination to beat it.

All I was given was vitamin b and just for two weeks. At first they thought I had a brain tumour but that was ruled out. I was not given any help of any kind after I left the hospital, I had to fight it on my own with the help of my wonderful husband. It was difficult for me to move about with a lot of feeling not there. I think you would be given better follow up care today. I have to say I thank God that I have the use of my today as I am in my eighties now and still have very good balance. I do hope people who are going through this are getting much better help today.

@@jeancaust9762 It is wonderful to hear from you, and that you are still healthy at your advanced age. Somehow your body has been able to heal itself after the injections. A poor diet can cause B12 deficiency's like a lack of animal products. I'm from the Netherlands and approaching my 50’s. My mother has lived to her teenage years in WA but her immigrant parents had to return to Holland due to illness. She's 74 and still 'younger' than her mother at the same age. Many western people today will not live till their 80's healthy if at all, the Western diet being the culprit. • @verigone2677
      @verigone2677 2 года назад +41

@@aprilgarcia4523neuropathy in and of itself can be cured, nerves can replace themselves, and the tiny ones affected by this condition are the easiest nerves to recover. The issue comes in that the underlying causes damage cells faster than the body can heal them. So, your neuropathy will heal itself with no further intervention on your part if you can solve the causing condition (ramping up your vitamin D and various B complexes can improve your body's overall recovery speed). Neuropathy in and of it self is a secondary condition caused by a primary factor and it is itself more of symptom of something else than a condition all on its own (the vast majority of the time). Those cases without a known cause, Idiopathic Neuropathy, are very rare and almost always figured out to be rooted in some form of autoimmune if Diabetes and Hepatitis are ruled out.

Diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy after chemotherapy for lymphoma. Agonising pain in my feet and hands with numerous other issues such as GERD, lack of sleep etc.
Several doctors and consultants could only prescribe classical painkillers at best, I tried them all and nothing touched the pain. It got to the point I wished the cancer had killed me.
Someone suggested eating more red meat to raise my low testosterone and I accidentally ended up almost cutting out everything ELSE that was giving me issues.
Very soon I was full carnivore, 16/8 fasting and feeling better than before chemo.
My feet were almost pain free in 3 weeks, my GERD was gone in less than a week, my sleep was back to 6 hours at least and instead of being physically exhausted I was mountain biking with my son again.
I'd spent two fricking YEARS wishing I'd died because of UK healthcare incompetence at every level.

Dr. Berry, I've been on Keto and Carnivoire since December (7 months) and my peripheral neuropathy is better. I have better feeling on the bottom of my feet, but after watching your video, I realized that there is one thing I totally forgot about. For about the last 15 years, I've had a terrible pain in the big toe on my right foot. I know that is hard to believe. The pain in my big toe was so bad it was disabling. It was hard to walk and hard to drive a car. I just realized after 7 months on Keto, that I don't have that severe pain in my big toe anymore. I haven't had that pain in several months. My big toe feels so normal that I just forgot about it. That's pretty amazing what Keto did. (also fasting sugar is between 90 and 104, only 1 metformin a day, and I've lost 45 pounds since Christmas)

You're the first person who explained the glycation and phagocytosis process and how it works together to damage the nerves... everything everyONE else just implies... "well it's like it just rusts and there's no recovery for it"... it's worth waiting for the pain to go away if there's HOPE that the tiny nerve endings can regenerate, even if it takes... like you said, months, or more... Ozempic is a dangerous drug for an older persons with neuropathy. I was prescribed Ozempic for Type II DM. I had two very dangerous falls because Ozempic aggravated orthostatic hypotension to such an extent it caused me to blackout suddenly and fall. The first fall caused a severe break in my left ankle which required surgery, and a head injury. The second fall caused a broken hip. It took weeks of hospitalization before my doctors figured out Ozempic was causing my BP to drop so low I would pass out upon standing. It took eight weeks for Ozempic to clear my system and allow me to stand up without blacking out. No one has mentioned this problem with these types of medications but it should thoroughly be explored.

Absolutely. I am dealing with excruciating pain from chemo. I am on strong pain killers which one can only take a certain amount of. Thanks Dr Berry. You are a life saver.. In 2021, I had a poor diet (LOTS of junk food binges) & was stressed out due to the extra work demands of the pandemic & living in the path of the 2020 chaos and protests. I was also the most overweight I had ever been in life. One day I suddenly had Peripheral Neuropathy all over my body that didn't go away. After seeing a doctor, they told me they had no idea what was causing it but only that it was an irreversible condition and maybe I should "lose weight" because the extra weight caused it (Doctor just guessed. I had been overweight for over a decade without these issues). Labs just showed A1C of 5.7 and cholesterol level of 211. I stumbled across this video and reversed the neuropathy within 3 months. Also lost over 100lbs switching to a keto diet with fasting. Blood sugar, blood pressure and cholesterol are optimal despite high protein, high fat and high sodium diet. I am awake to what Dr Berry has to say about healthcare and food industry conspiracies now.

About 10 years ago, peripheral neuropathy in my feet was the first sign that my lazy and poor eating had caused type II diabetes. Very long story short, I had a very high A1C. I went no sugar/no grain, reversed the diabetes (A1C of 5.0) and have maintained that for years. The neuropathy is much better, but not completely eliminated. When I first noticed it and until I got my eating and weight controlled, there was actual pain and burning on a regular basis and discomfort all the time. Now, I just feel some very, very slight numbness, but no pain and burning and sometime not even that. Getting rid of the neuropathy is a long term thing and it may never completely resolve. Word to the wise- get your A1C under control before it starts.

I never understood the need to drink water and foolishly thought a few pints of beer did the trick.
For years I suffered with kidney stones. But one night after a bottle of wine and a meal, I woke in terrible pain in the kidney, the stone had moved and so I knew I had to MOVE and get to casualty. I was arguing with the doctor who was telling me I was a very sick man, but I said it's the stone in the kidney and I need an injection for the pain. He informed me that normal blood sugar level is 5.8, European level, BUT yours is 84.5, that's eighty-four point five, you could have gone into a Diabetic coma if the pain from the stone hadn't made you come to the hospital. I was brought to theater and a stent inserted and brought to ICU. In a mater of days I had neuropathy in 1 foot, which progressed to the other. thank you, i am in the UK, and for the most part my peripheral Nuropathy has been ignored, not treatment, no suggestions to help me cope with it, just get on with it, I was told that mine is a result of being born with congenital bilateral tailpies, and having many surgeries to try to correct that, i also have spinal stinosis which apparently is also a direct result of the operations to my feet and hips, again no one has ever taken the time to explain any of it to me, in fact one doctor said in a letter to my GP, " he is going to be in pain for the rest of his life and he is just going to have to get used to it" since then i don't bother them so much and just try to learn how to deal with it myself. So your video helped me to understand a little more about it and will try to follow some of your guidance, so many thanks and take care :)

I have had numerous blood tests and mri's. no dr can tell me what's going on. I'm only 40 and can't even hug my kids without pain. I cant cook.or wash dishes. It hurts to change my clothes. I have trouble telling what temperature it is. Cold cause everything to sting and warm causes everything to burn. So now im burning and stinging all over all the time. All I get is drs wanting to give me meds. I was giving cymbalta for anxiety and nerve pain. Worst mistake of my life. I took 3 days of the meds months ago and still have emotional blunting. So I refuse any med for my neuropathy. I just want my life back I feel like it's already over.

I have the tingling and numbness down the inside of both my legs, fortunately no pain yet. What happened is: long time low carb diet turned serious carnivore in May 2022. Went on vacation with my hubby Oct 8-15 2022 and fully off carnivore. I mean I had so much bread & sugar it was a rebellion. A day and a half later I wake up with my entire body tingling and I kept complaining to my hubby my body was so swollen. My thighs, my tummy, my face. I was stupid and kept eating that way till I got home. Started right away back on strict carnivore and felt a little improvement in less than 2 weeks. Thank the Lord. When my body was tingling all over I thought maybe a virus or something. Now, over 2 weeks back on strict carnivore, only the insides of my long legs, insides of my arms and my stomach are still super tingling & numb. *I really feel this entire experience with carnivore and then jumping of and back on has shook some sense into me. I’m so lucky enough to not have any pain this time and realize I most likely will not be so lucky if there ever is a next time.
Thank you Thank you Thank you for keeping this video up!!👏👏👏👏
I feel so much better after watching this video. I feel confident if I stay on carnivore long enough I may see more improvement with my nerves. ~I had a full blood panel done just last week and everything came back normal for carnivore. The only thing they red flagged would be my ketones (2+) and of course my LDL (179) but my Triglycerides (65) to HDL (68) ratio was under 1, so YaY!!!
Thank you again so much for keeping this video up!!!👏👏👏

Low carb really does ease this type of pain. I am 6 months in on keto lifestyle but only took the first few weeks to realise the pain in my neck, head shoulders and back was easing. 3 months in and I started weight training amazing progress as I carrying a shopping bag was painful. This pain and disability started after an accident, no meds helped and thousands spent on physio and chiropractic adjustments to ease the pain. All it took was a change in my diet. I cannot recommend this advice enough.

I REALLY appreciate that you give excellent, common sense information without trying to sell something. As soon as I see that on a video, I turn it off. I’m tired of constantly being a potential customer, instead of being treated as a human being.

Dr Ken realised I was suffering from this alongside sciatica in both legs which confused the diagnosis somewhat and after wading through tons of as you say useless junk. I found this which quite honestly picked me up off the floor.
It was confidence inspiring to listen to the information particularly when other health care professionals give praise to your knowledge. The mainly carnivore/low carb diet I enjoy now has helped me immensely at over 40 lbs lighter at 70yrs young has shown what can be achieved. Many thanks and good health to you and yours

As a sufferer of Small Fiber neuropathy for a dozen years, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I saw a neurologist who attended the best universities for 5 years... he offered no hope, no suggestions, only meds... which did not work. I have had chronic gastro issues for most of my life so I went to Emory Neurology because they advertise a multi-disciplinary approach to treatment of neuropathy. I mentioned Dr. Perlmutter's work which found there is a relationship between gut issues and neuropathy. This must have offended the Ukrainian neurologist I was seeing because she stopped the exam and literally told me to go home and die... not once or twice but multiple times. I asked about the gastro workup and she refused to offer it. So it's refreshing to say the least to find someone as generous and as knowledgeable as you on my journey. Thank you sir.

I've described my symptoms to 3 different neurologists with no help whatsoever. I didn't even know what to call this problem (small fiber neuropathy) until researching on my own. I think my neurologists must assume my PCP has already done all the basic tests Dr Berry described, but my PCP has barely scratched the surface and has actually refused to do anything else because she believes it's my neurologists' job. Too much more of this insanity and I'll need a psychiatrist. I've wasted thousands of dollars on absolutely worthless doctors.

I too was diagnosed with small fiber neuropathy. All my neurologist had to offer was a Rx for gabapentin! Really. When the autonomic symptoms appeared she decided to send me to a neurologist specializing in neuromuscular disease. It will take a least 6 months to get that appointment. This has already been 2.5 years, so now in my 70’s, I really need to figure out what to do now, not another year from now. I think I will try intermittent fasting and low carb.

Best information I've ever heard. My doctor just writes script after script. I'm up to seven. I take 4 pain pills a day just to get thru the day. Nobody understands me because they cannot SEE my pain. I'm disregarded, even by my bf. If you don't have a ln injury or condition that people cam SEE, they don't believe you. It's very hard. Thehardest thing I've ever dealt with. Here I am in another state for two months and I'm worried I cannot get my meds.

I realized I had PN probably two years ago, several years after my diabetes diagnosis. I felt sort of pin pricks and my feet were more sensitive to pain than ever before. My feet now stay cold unless I am wearing socks, but I have been Ketovore since Aug. 2020 and I never feel the pin pricking sensation any more. Wish I had known to start sooner. Thank you Dr. B.
