This video is one of the best golf instruction videos , ever !!! The explanation and demonstration is very precise, clear, and extremely helpful. There are hundreds of useless golf videos.. NOT this one. Faxon hits a home run from this video !! 👍👍👍
1:45 pad of lead hand on top of grip - I've had the grip going through the palm of the lead hand before seeing this, putting the pad on the top feels strange but seems to be helping get rid of my push miss.
Good stuff. I've never been a good putter other than that occasional good day. I've tried all kinds of grips and have a closet full of putters. Time to go back to the basics and study Brad's and Crenshaw's style. I'll probably never be a good putter but need to stick with something and perhaps I can become an average putter. I pulled out an old Ping Anser putter I bought in the early 80's. Looks similar to Brad's Scotty Cameron. It feels so much lighter than most I have. Gonna give it a try again.
Really interesting to see Brad's grip using the heel pad of the left palm vs. the Utley style going up the lifeline. I started like Brad and switched to Stan.
Brad - I use the same grip, because I watched you putt great for so many years. It works so well. But even better, I got my wife using it. She was having major greens angst, three putting multiple times a round. I finally convinced her to try your grip. I showed her this vid. It has been a game changer for her. The last three rounds - no three putts. She says she can control the putter face better, has more feeling so is getting those long lags close and is making more of those crucial inside-10-feet putts. Thanks from both of us.
That's the grip I use too, feels natural. If more time was accepted on the greens, 90% of amateurs would putt better. How often do you see us amateurs take our putt within 30 seconds of cleaning the ball. We all feel a time pressure to not delay the next group coming behind. We miss more putts, we leave long putts horribly short or 10 foot past. Extra 10 shots per round because of rushing. Food for thought.......
I have so much trouble with a grip. How is it possible to have the right forearm and shaft in line when the right thumb is all the way on top of the flat part of the grip while also having 9 fingers touching the shaft? It’s almost as if it has to be above the shaft plane? Thanks for any advice!
Great insight, made me stop and analyze my grip. Similar to what you have described here except I've naturally been using an overlap vs reverse overlap grip while putting. Are there any pros or cons to either or just a feel preference? Thank you.
I gotta go get my putter outta my car trunk and come back and hold my putter and watch this video at least 5 more times to get everything in my hard head.

Great grip advice from one of the best to ever grace the greens
You have inspired me throughout my golfing life on the greens. Thank you Mr Faxon.

im new to the game so im going to adopt this grip and work on my putting
Keep these vids coming. We’ve been waiting for you to do this
Great, clear explanation.
Glad you liked it
I agree with you Brad, I also have a stronger left hand. I also have a thin red Scotty grip on my Newport Select 2.5
Perfect, simple and effective.
Video helped me a lot, thank you!
I use the Runyan grip!
Seems to work well now for 30 years
When the 'Boss' speaks, i listen...
Great video Brad! Man I'd love a scotty stand bag someday!

great video thank you.
You are welcome!
I like the idea that there is a correct method in putting. I am suspicious of instructors who tell you to do "anything that works"...
Insightful stuff
Hey Brad, Is the left hand grip similar to your full swing grip? It looked like you were showing the heal pad resting on top of the shaft.
Tiger does the same - it’s in his book How I play golf

I dig the Rollie Hulk
How many layers of tape do you have underneath that grip?
he uses 2 wraps, he mentions it in his circle T part 1 video.
Hey Brad... can i have one of your Scotty Cameron golf bag?
