That nephew should consider doing mini conversions as a career. I love the lift up table top in the rear kitchen! End of video edit: So glad nephew is taking work on like this… and looking forward to an Van lid cooking channel, because small space cooking and good meal making in a van or RV is definitely a big learning curve!
Michael made the great point that there is diversity in the nomad community. I believe that means that there is less hate, less damaging judgement to fear. You can find reasonable safety and friendship, inclusion, help if you need it. Fantastic. Best wishes to Michael for his future. Kudos to his nephew for helping in a big way. Thank you Bob and Michael!
What a sweetie Michael is, and I think he's got a winning idea in his cooking channel. His nephew did a stellar job! I love watching these videos because different people come up with some very creative solutions for the challenge of creating a comfy, livable home in a confined space which usually has a bunch of weird curves, angles and (at least in the case of my car) multiple levels of floor. I love the dark stained wood. I know a lot of people in cars choose light colors, but dark stained wood is my preference too. I need to be starting my build very soon, I'm glad I saw this video first.
Fantastic, build! And, I love your mission of teaching healthy eating as nomads! I’m primarily plant-based SOS-free and do most of my own cooking, so healthy eating as a nomad would be extremely important to me. I’ve been researching nomad van life living for some time (love this channel!) and waiting for my window of opportunity… I’ve already made two big steps (recently retired and moved to Arizona). I joined your “NotYourMomsVan” RUclips channel and wishing it great success!
You are right about the talent of your nephew. So creative and he’s brought so much joy into his uncles life. I hope you have lots of success in your travels and social media cooking shows. 💕
I appreciate that you are relatable and care about the things that make us better people. That's what I, a 60+ former believer, husband, and father, am still finding to be most important.
I really like the build and the upcycling he used in building. Every video I watch, I find new things that I’d love to incorporate into my build! Safe travels, and it’s awesome to see someone cooking and eating healthier
Awesome build! Great job nephew! I definitely could use some help on my next build out after RTR. I hope you'll be at the RTR 2024 so we can meet and see the van in person! (Not against good food, either😂)
Great video! Nice van build Michael and I've subscribed to your channel. It took me a bit- I finally left no spaces between words and it worked😊. Bob, as always, you are helping people to survive, and this is wonderful. Thank you so much, both of you!!
Wow, just wow. I’m so trying to get my van but I have to wait due to monetary and health issues. The van community seems so welcoming, I come from the mountain community which is also very friendly and tight and can’t see myself going back to the city. In the meantime I tent camp whenever I have the time and sometimes I get to meet the wonderful nomads, always so nice and down to earth.
These van/rig tours are my favorite videos. Especially the minivans. We have a 2014 Dodge grand caravan that we rigged up with a bed for camping and road trips. Michael is a cool guy!
Now that is storage perfection! Love this build ❤. Can't wait to check out your channel Michael you seem like such a nice guy. Thanks for sharing Michael and Bob! 💜
That's a really comfortable looking space, with a very functional kitchen. Plenty of storage, I think. 🤔 One can always use more of that. I love to watch cooking videos. I always helped Mom and sister-in-laws on the kitchen, and watched Julia Child and Justin Wilson after school. I rarely do more than heat up a can of soup for myself though. I'll have to check his channel out. Anybody that can cook a decent meal out of a vehicle gets my attention. Not only for the final product, but the process involved.
Love this especially AGAIN!! my first Q I took my camper its small toyota this year I am in my van and it's a crazy quick build but going to save so much money. And still eat healthy. This is the life😊
Thanks Michael for sharing your home with us. I’m going to subscribe to you channel. You seem like such a nice person. I look forward to seeing some of your cooking videos. Thanks Bob. Take care.
Michael, I hope you really do that cooking channel- that’s a great goal! I only saw one video on your RUclips, but I subscribed. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Your nephew did a great job.
You reminded me why I like attending the RTR, feeling re-motivated to make it again this year despite obligations about selling the home base. Good video Michael!
Great guy and very nice set up. The slide outs are amazing and very well organized. Think he did a great job. Lovely man - hope he can have many many wonderful experiences on the road. Inspiring video that shows that anyone can do this (when you have a drivers' license!) Thanks for sharing Michael and Bob - greetz, Jason
When I hear bagpipes in the distance, I will know who it is. Looking forward to watching your YT channel when it is up and running. Your nephew could have a lot of work on the road if he wanted to live this kind of life. I sure could use his help!
To quote the great Bob Wells "Wow"...... anyone else here thinking of the scene from ToyStory2, where the Repair guy has that magical cabinet????? Love this man's energy & vibe, absolutely admire his setup ( I'm making notes for my Nissan Serena) and bravo to the nephew and his creative talents ❤️ Edit, I'm looking forward to the cooking videos, liked and joined the other 160 subs, I'm guessing you'll get a whole lot more - no pressure ( Bob covers video making somewhere back down the line). 😊
I adore Michael's van 💖😃💖 great job getting all the right things where you need them to be, with options based on your circumstances👌 I hope to see this at the rtr 2024
Another terrific build-out to not only use as much available space as possible, and to do so to make it fully functional and personalized. Great video - best of luck, Michael!
It looks like the water faucet is one that can attach to the water jug with a hose, which is a faucet type I have been looking for. If the owner of the vehicle is answering questions, could they please let me know what type of faucet that is? I would really appreciate it. This build was so much nicer than I thought it would be before I watched it. You see smaller vans and a lot of the time the layouts are very similar, but this build is so unique. Wonderful job!
Michael said he'd been watching this channel for TEN years, getting ideas, so he certainly had figured out what he needed to tell nephew Ted to do and here Ted had some special touches to add. Being a Chef and 300# would be hard on the back and feet, so I'm happy he lost the weight and changed his cooking style.
🙌 what an amazing set-up, and both you & your nephew are very talented!! I'm one looking to learn how to prepare food & eat healthy (vegetarian) in a van life style. Tkssssss 🚙
Great build, and great to look forward to healthy cooking shows. Yes, i have noticed the van life cooking can be questionable. I do have a question about weight, Bob. I took all seats out of my 1999 Tahoe chevy, of course not driver side, or front passenger side. I used no heavy wood, and plastic storage shelf. I'm not for sure it helped on gas mileage. Maybe I didn't count it right!! Does the weight in the car make a difference in gas milage? Thank you
Hi Debbie, I am a mechanic. It wouldn’t make much difference on a heavy truck-based SUV like that. It’s designed to tow, not for fuel mileage so you may only see .3-.5 MPG improvement. But you can’t beat the comfort and room to move around, so I wouldn’t worry about it - just enjoy it!
Look luck to the man hope everything goes well 🙏 i wouldn't want to live full time in a small van it would be difficult if it was raining all day having to sit in a small van not being able to move around properly.
That nephew should consider doing mini conversions as a career. I love the lift up table top in the rear kitchen! Yes, and being a chef, he could create a little Truck Stop - van/stop business selling his food!🪷
Absolutely fantastic and a really nice guy as well
Michael made the great point that there is diversity in the nomad community. I believe that means that there is less hate, less damaging judgement to fear. You can find reasonable safety and friendship, inclusion, help if you need it. Fantastic. Best wishes to Michael for his future. Kudos to his nephew for helping in a big way. Thank you Bob and Michael!
We watch out for each other out here! I’ve made soooo many lifelong friends, it’s incredible how giving , kind and caring nomads are!!!!!
What an easy-going and delightful guy. Kudos to his talented nephew for helping him with his van build.
Great conversion and i love his idea of cooking lessons for ppl on the road!! what a kind, soft spoken soul
What a sweetie Michael is, and I think he's got a winning idea in his cooking channel. His nephew did a stellar job! You sound like me! Plant based, mostly sos free. Planning to move to Az near my grandson, but to be independent and have my own home on wheels.
@@normaevett that's fantastic! ...it'd be awesome to see ya down the road! 🚐
I could hang with Mike, love his style and taste. Really appreciate the ability to change the bed area into a lounger, awesome design.
Nice rig and you can’t beat the Toyota reliability, and it takes skills to build out a system like that very cool. 😊thank you
💯!
You are right about the talent of your nephew. So creative and he’s brought so much joy into his uncles life. I hope you have lots of success in your travels and social media cooking shows. 💕
God bless you Michael for doing the healthy cooking thing.People always need options . Your also A very well spoken guy
YESSSSS!!! We definitely need more healthful cooking ideas while on the road. I will be looking forward to your videos!
I appreciate that you are relatable and care about the things that make us better people. That's what I, a 60+ former believer, husband, and father, am still finding to be most important.
Brilliant nephew!!! Love the build!
Very nice build! He clearly built around his priorities. Kudos ❤

Awesome build! Great job nephew! I definitely could use some help on my next build out after RTR.
I hope you'll be at the RTR 2024 so we can meet and see the van in person! (Not against good food, either😂)
Awe….what a sweetie. And a great build! I love these owner-built, owner-designed builds. (Or, with the help and skills of family members!)
Great video! Nice van build Michael and I've subscribed to your channel. It took me a bit- I finally left no spaces between words and it worked😊. Bob, as always, you are helping people to survive, and this is wonderful. Thank you so much, both of you!!

Very nice build. I would do something to protect the headliner above the stove.
And if I heard him right he’s running his stove at night for heat???
Best and most organized build I've seen! His nephew did a fantastic job 👏
He's so cool and an entire mood! Go Michael, go!
Great build, very functional and custom, yet still simple enough!
Love your van compact and everything you need, your staining and your nephew's ingenuity great job, and perfect for a chef! Enjoy🌿
THANK you..😊😊❤ THANK YOU.. A lot of Vanlifers need to learn how to cook and eat healthy. YEESS....BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOUR NEPHEW.
Great efficient build. Safe travels.
After watching some of these mini van set ups I think one would work for me.
This the most organized minivan ive ever watched
These van/rig tours are my favorite videos. Especially the minivans. We have a 2014 Dodge grand caravan that we rigged up with a bed for camping and road trips. Michael is a cool guy!
