This van set up is similar to mine and her mindset when staying with family and friends is the same as mine. I'd rather stay in my vehicle. My dog has a nightly routine and I want to keep her in it.

Thanks Bob for another van tour. I really enjoy watching them. My experience is very much like this lady's. I gave up my rental because most of my aged pension went on rent. It's is a big jump into this lifestyle but I am enjoying it. Cody and Emmie-Lou are lovely.
I have a black card membership at Planet Fitness for about $23 per month. With about 2000 locations across the US, there always seems to be one on or near my route for showers and a workout if you want.
None where I am currently but I made good use of them in AZ

Thank you for sharing your van and thoughts. I am at the same place as you .. semi retired because I have to pay near two thirds of my income to bills. By the end of this year I will be ready. My van already has been ready, but I experiment (as you did) on short excusions. So far I have settled for that, but my heart doesn't want to settle anymore. Your van looks very comfortable and easy to access. Very cool. All the best on your future.

Why do some people judge van lifers?? Im 64, almost 65, been on MANY many hitchhiking trips. The coolest van build Ive seen so far, was a VW van with a very small woodstove. And they were SUCH clean people!! And so proud of their van 😊. Im looking for a van right now. Anything that runs.

Yeah I kept focusing on a space heater and all the w and power I would need and it's a lot, so that the electric blanket it's so much more practical and efficient to get started, because my biggest problem is I do not want to be cold.

If you are not yet ready to hit the road, may I recommend that you use this time to get limber, lose those excess pounds, and build strength in your body. Even squeezing a rubber ball builds grip strength. Very useful when you are solo on the road.

Been trying to jump, paid an old ticket, immediately had my licence suspended 4 months , bought a vehicle to pull a trailer, got the insurance so that I would have the 6 months of being insured to get lower rates, but they went up instead, skyrocketed rates in the Houston area area, Ac went out and took two weeks waiting for mechanic appointments, wrong diagnoses, and finally got one to listen to me who fixed it, and immediately a water leak and a week now for that appointment, and a bug got in my ear so a trip to the doctor ....I must really have something good waiting for me, because it has been hit after hit. It's coming. Don't want to do the van thing, legs aren't going to be hiking any trails.

this works in a natural setting. if the location is peaceful and serene the van only has to be a survival pod. if you live in parking lots in a city more amenities are needed inside the van.

I’m interested in this . Before I was homeless and living in my car, by force. But now I’m tired of paying rent. My landlord offered a rental renewal $700 higher. I’m tired of working & paying bills!!
