I feel exactly the same as Jim Carey. All the people I talked too who were saying it was justified seem to lack an understanding of what the Oscars represent. Its the highest level you can get as an actor, just like the Nobel is for science, Pulitzer is for journalism, Olympics for athletes. That's to name a few. People work their entire lives hoping to get nominated. That fact that some ignore the time and place and talk as though they were at a bar, is dumbfounding.
Does the host crack jokes at the Nobel recipient wife's expense right before he is to accept the Peace Prize? Do they make fun of you before accepting the Pulitzer? Are you the butt of jokes on the pedestal when given a Gold Medal?
