This is the best looking and most awesome sportster build I've ever seen. It's obvious that you really know what you are doing, and also have great artistic vision in building a bike that looks incredibly good. And the power, oh man that would be so much fun!
Always been a dream of mine to take a sportster to the limit like this such a great build and bike you have sir! Must be so fun to shock people with how fast this little pitbull is!
this is real nice im in process right now of building a 100 in sportster im using s&s cases lol basically the the whole motor is s&s andrews trans.im looking for an aluminum swingarm like you have here.im running drag bars s&s carb etc its been in the works for awhile i saved up for the cases and lost my job so it put the brakes on everything.i used to have an ironhead stroker back in the 90s it was about the size of yours shown mine was around 88 i think.for people that dont know when you have a sportster and start getting into these big bore stroker motors they are insanely fast my first stroker sportster ill never forget it was scary fast anyway nice job brother i really love yours!!!!
Absolutely love it great job I’ve always enjoyed building hot rod sportsters since the late 80’s It’s always a blast to blow away big twins and crotch rockets. Especially back in the 90’s Nowadays big twins can really haul ass I hope to build one soon kids are all grown up and I deserve to have some fun Just got to convince the wife of how important it is to me
I freakin' LOVE little Sportsters and chopped bobbers that smoke big 120+ci 'road rulers'. My hard tailed Darwin Model 1 has a 'little' 80" crate on it and it pulls so hard from 0 you gotta hang the hell on w/ a tight grip or it'll buck you as it damn near did me when I 1st got it. Even ^ XL probably weighs at least 50lbs heavier than my Model 1. I can't wait to drop a Wood cam in it & tweak it a litle.
Impressive, I see how quickly the torque comes into play. And as the horsepower builds, you can start turning the Earth of the opposite direction. LOL Good video enjoyed it.
I’m currently looking for an EVO Sportster to do the 1275 kit on. Last one I did was all S&S but that ship has long since sailed with HAMMER doing what they’ve done.
I might do a 90 or 100 on my XR1200 some day but I want it mild enough to run around as usual, not a track only bike. Hows temps with this bike on a normal ride? you have a oil cooler?
Talked to you last year about my 02 1200s. I'm pulling the trigger on putting the 1275 kit on it with a crush head job keeping the duel plug set up with all stock look. Seeing this video mine is just as quick and can snach the bars out of your hands. What cluch PAC do you have in it? I will be putting in a new clutch on build.
Do you live around Stanton? I do. I have an ‘11 883 and have been looking into a jug upgrade. Did you know Hammer released a 90ci option?! Wondering if you guys will test theirs.
I have an iron 1200 and want more power would the hammer 1275 kit be worth it? Will it affect reliability and will I notice a difference in power. Awesome bike by the way!!!
Nice job, no doubt. Doing a 90" Hammer job on a '86 for a customer now. This one was also a 883 originally. Did you have Darkhorse balance the flywheels also ?
Sick bike. I want to get into racing as well. I thought my sporty was fast. I don't have to win I just want to have fun without spending the bucks on a racecar.
Is there anything specific i can look for too see if my bike has upgraded cams ? Bought it from a guy used and i just feel like this thing is insanely fast . 07 nightster 1200
awesome videos just subscribed!!!! could you tell me what you think the best bang for the buck would be for a 91 1200 sporty. don't want to go all out like you but would like to have a little more power. currently finishing my 883 chop but my 1200 is goin to be more of a go fast ride
Hey sidestreetways16! If it is stock a couple of the easiest upgrades is a pipe and to put the hop up kit in the CV carburetor which costs about $40 for the kit. Then you would also like to put a free flowing air cleaner on it. The stock HD air cleaner has to go. There are a few different exhaust pipes. Go to the Hammer site and look at their exhaust dyno page. Starters...
Hello and thanks for watching! The bike has never been on a dyno so I am not sure of actual HP or Torque. It has enough to get the job done. A rough guess would be 105 HP's and 95 Torgue.
@ Harley Davidson Racing , I’m thinking about coming to HD. Just tested a 2016 roadster and liked it. What sort of work needs to be done to take it to 90 or beyond. Is it all bolt on ? My point being, I hear balanced flywheel and matched and all this stuff and think, yeah, good, but for a hack like me, will bolt on work pretty good and the other stuff is just for tenths of seconds ET. I just want a crazy torquey Sportster that won’t break anything but bigger than 1200. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated. I’m in Sydney Australia, so will probably do the work myself by watching the usual HD RUclips mechanics.
Hello Tom and thank you for watching and the comment all the way from Sydney! How cool is that half way around the world from each other! You can only go to 1275 with bold on top end parts with the Sportsters without breaking and boring out the cases for the larger 88" to 90" cylinders which ends up being a fair amount of work and approximately $2000 more cost. I have a 1275 reviewed in other videos her on the channel if you want to look.
Thanks for the reply, that's really cool. I just recently got the 1275 kit,. I'm also running the XB heads with 190 valves with the crush Port job. 560 cams. Running a Super G carb I was previously running a 90 Main Jet assuming I'll probably have to go up. Running the supertrapp 2 into 1 but I had to remove the baffles because the bike would not breathe installed I guess you could say homemade baffles. Long story there. But thanks man, have a good one
Ur turning these humble un assuming beloved sportsters into monsters . 90in cruser thats nuts recluse and dangerous. Amen and may i survielle it. I like sporty es. Keep that pontiac big twin in my rear view mirror ill say U got pased by a chick bike night stock er .thanks for sharing. U
Like the video's. I 've convicted my self n its true sporster s suck .u take out the harley parts n ur bike red ass out the gate . thank s i like ur stable of sportys all of em.
Nice bikes you build..lots of respect..but dude you do not know how to power shift..never ever let off the throttle.bang those gears. Do you want me to come to Michigan and show you?
Thanks for watching and the comment Robert. I live in Muskegon, Mi. and there are many fast Harleys up here and this one is running with the fastest group. It will keep up with the souped up 124 big rigs until we hit the 100MPH+ mark and then those fast 124 inch big rigs start to pull me.
This is the best looking and most awesome sportster build I've ever seen. It's obvious that you really know what you are doing, and also have great artistic vision in building a bike that looks incredibly good. And the power, oh man that would be so much fun!
Thank you Trevor for your kind words! The bike is great fun to ride!
"This bike is a monster" is a bit of an understatement.
Thanks for watching Gary! The bike is a handful! It runs very strong.
Always been a dream of mine to take a sportster to the limit like this such a great build and bike you have sir! Must be so fun to shock people with how fast this little pitbull is!
Love this machine! I'm building an '86 Sportster now and this is my inspiration. I'd love to see some more videos of this one.
Thank you for watching ratjaw75! I appreciate the comment! I am very fond of this bike also!
One of my favorite street bike sportster builds.. you did a awesome job.. that thing is a beast...
Thank you nikolaiownz!!!
Great looking bike and it seems to live up to the engine's name - it hits like a hammer! Scott

I have a 1275 kit in my sporty and thought it was a beast but this thing is an absolute monster
Darkhorse is about 20 mins away from me. Love hobans. Your bike is a beast!

Nice build. I'd love to see you race it.

I'll say one word; AWESOME!!
Thank you for watching and the kind comment Femando!
Impressive, I see how quickly the torque comes into play. And as the horsepower builds, you can start turning the Earth of the opposite direction. LOL
Good video enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching and the comment. It is a great ride!
I really am tempted to go with Hammer for a 1275 for my 99 Buell lightning! That would be WICKED! Sick bike dude.
Sportsters and Buells forever.
Looks damn good!!!
Wow what a damn good looking an strong hog!!!!!! Love it!!!!!👍☝🏽🇺🇸💪🏽
Thanks for watching!
you were certainly hiking along. I'll bet the frame feels a bit spaggetti like now!
I have the exact same bike. Shoulda kept her orange, everyone loves it.
Yes I liked the orange too but black is my color so I changed. The orange checked is now a classic.
I have two 2002 sporsters .
Plain black and 883r.
Sounds clean! What tuner do you run again? Wondering what the ignition map looks like.
Tons o' Fun!
Thank you!!!!

Thank you Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm liking these last two vids you did

Juice! Nice road..looks like not the desert
Hey Jeff! It is a back road near the river not far from me that has curves.
In the Midwest riders need river roads the get the twists....;) Other places not a straight line to be found..Love your work. Thanks
Did you do the crank also, is or this top in kit only. I'm wanting something like 1275 hammer kit or bigger
When it gets to steaming it gets rolling right about Now;)
What is the weight savings on the trac dynamics swingarm?
Do you live around Stanton? I do. I have an ‘11 883 and have been looking into a jug upgrade. Did you know Hammer released a 90ci option?! Wondering if you guys will test theirs.

Hey thank you Ken! Yes I did have Darkhorse balance the bottom and install S&S rods. Thanks for watching!....Mark
@@motorcycleridingandrepair1627 Did they weld the crank?
Sick bike. I want to get into racing as well. I thought my sporty was fast. I don't have to win I just want to have fun without spending the bucks on a racecar.
I bet that thing hauls the mail. Im gonna build a wicked sportster..
Hey steve thanks for watching! It does haul mail! With wheelie bars it ran 10.7 ET at 121 MPH in the 1/4 mile.
did you put compression releases on the heads?
I seen hammer had their side winder kit. Is this just a jug upgrade like the 1200 kits or is it a whole new motor?
Most of their kits are just upgrades.
This engine in a Buell, 'XB', bam track bike from hell!!!
Yes..yes..yes!
Is there anything specific i can look for too see if my bike has upgraded cams ? Bought it from a guy used and i just feel like this thing is insanely fast . 07 nightster 1200
Hey Jamie! There is no way to tell unless you look at the cams and then you still might not be able to tell if there are no markings.
That bike is so badass! What seat is that?
Damn.... a 90in on a sporty is effin awesome...
Thank you!

What is the hop up kit
Nice bike! I have a 1250 hammer kit on my sporty trike. I have some thunderstorm heads I'm gonna put on it soon.
How would you comment about the reliability after this upgrade? Could you run this as a daily?
I probably would not run a 90" XL as a daily ride. My daily XL ride is a 1250 Hammer build motor.
Which exhaust?
Badass! Who makes the swing arm?
Trac Performance out of CA. makes the swing arm.
Almost started to sweat just listening to the description: D
Nice back roads where do you live? I’m in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Next to you in Muskegon! This is East River Road along the river in Maple Island, MI!
I live right by you two just north of grand rapids
If you decided to make the 90ci a racer instead of the 1275cc do you think it would be faster? And on the road is the 90ci smoother to ride?
The 90 CI could always be faster because it is about 200 cc bigger! The smaller motor would be smoother.
Harley Davidson Racing to put the 90ci in, is it just a bolt on like the 1275cc or do you have to change everything to use it?
You have ot take the complete engine down to bore the cases for the bigger cylinders. You also should rebuild the bottom end while you have it apart.
Harley Davidson Racing how much HP do you think you could get a 90ci up to but still have it a good streetbike to drive around daily?
110 HP range
It would help when you are going threw engine internals if ya gave us some HP and torque specs
Hello and thanks for watching! The bike has never been on a dyno so I am not sure of actual HP or Torque. It has enough to get the job done. A rough guess would be 105 HP's and 95 Torgue.
Harley Davidson Racing dang I bet that is wicked!!!
Is the crank welded?
The crank is not welded. I had Darkhorse do the bottom and it is pressed.
Man how fast were you going?Looks like the NW, lucky you didn't meet up with a moose.
Hey Mike I was going fast! I enjoy pushing my bikes to their limits! In fact that is something I enjoy the most!
Where did you get the steering stabilizer
The damper rod*
eBay.
10.70 is damn stout...
1474 cc Sportster 10:07 ...122 MPH COOL BIKE
I have 3 different Sportsters Tom and this one goes very good! Thank you for watching!

When I am not racing I usually use the clutch. Thank you for asking.

I dig your bikes
It sounds like you have a great bike build going James! I love those hot rod Sportsters much better than the big rigs! It should rip!
Nice build Harley only by name lol🤐
I always get confused when bikers talk about seasons till I remember snow is a thing. Sick Sporty tho.
Michigan winters!
@@motorcycleridingandrepair1627 I second this^ were not having very good luck this season either with all this rain!
Yes Shane I love to see all of the green the rain is producing but enough is enough now! I want to ride!
@@motorcycleridingandrepair1627 agreed!
Got a lot of good riding days down here where I'm at in michigan
How much horsepower
Hey c45! Not really sure because it has not been on the dyno. My rough estimation would be around 105HP.
bitubo is an italian brand not german

Yes it is.
ROCKEN
Thank you for watching Andy!
Fast dirt bike.
With all the mods you installed and big bucks you shelled out,you could have bought a 107,110,114 ci kick ass Harley
Because I have never come up against any big twin 107, 110, 114, or 117 that this 90"XL could not leave in the dust!
Yeah ! got balls ?
Nice bikes you build..lots of respect..but dude you do not know how to power shift..never ever let off the throttle.bang those gears. Do you want me to come to Michigan and show you?
