So... turns out if you stay up on the tower the demon jumps up there with you... Not my finest moment.

I might cheese the enemies on the way to the boss, but I'd rather fight the bosses themselves like a man (unless they cheat first).I played DS2 with all the Crowns, so I'd find a straight up fight with this guy will be more satisfying. Let me explain. I bum rushed my way to this guy, broken iron shortsword in hand. I earned my right to cheese that boss.
A straight up fight with this boss the normal way isn't really possible. You -can* do it, but its not advised, since that boss is nearly as wide as the walkway, there's now way to dodge effectively. If he swings and you're up close trying to fight him normally, you're dead. That's why this boss is so difficult. Most of it has to do with the environment he's in more than the boss itself.

I just ran past all the goons. I couldn't deal with killing them over and over just to die to this boss so quickly.
I felt the same way so I tried running past them. Then they ganged up on me and killed me.
The way you get though the enemy's is find the biggest sword you can find and start slashing

At least you make it to him. They block the door when you run from the bonfire and then others flank me from behind and trap me. I have to kill most of them or I'll die. So I cant make it to the boss with more than 2 estus flasks. Getting pretty damn frustrated with this, I'm sure most people do at some point. Just sucks I'm stuck so damn early in the game. Tells me it's only getting worse for me from here
@@atheist101 yeah I never got into Dark Souls in the past because like Im always working a shit ton of hours but now with the neverending shutdown i have all this free time and Im going insane from being stuck indoors while going insane from the pain of my first Dark Souls run. Its messed with my sleep and my sanity. I hate this game im going to beat it so hard.
I actually defeated this boss by accident. I accidentally jumped off the left side of the wall and the Taurus demon jumped with me and died. I died as well and I dont think I got the rewards, but it did die...

This game is giving me blood pressure issues. Every time i do a plunging attack, i run to the other side then when i turn around he COMPLETELY blocks the path and simply pushes me off the edge.
I love how this game requires you to fight though 5 minutes of undead before you can face the boss. It makes everything about the enemy placement and map design so deliberate.

Lol i find it funny that there is actually a set strategy to beat this guy cuz when i fought him he did his leaping attack and jumped off the bridge, it was a great moment for me in the game
Lol, I fought him 10 times, I came here to see how to do it and i tried to fight him again. Yes, he suicided. xD

Lmao. I just fought him without using the ladder, and I didnt know you could even get up there to deal with the skeletons.
But I learned that for most of his attacks, if you press up right underneath him, almost every attack misses, so I just repeatedly stabbed him with my spear
after 40 attemps, 1 hole in the tabel, one broken controller and a broken wrist i finaly killed that son of a b*****

Strangely enough, he killed me by pushing me off the bridge... But then he also fell down the bridge and I won apparently....

An extra tip just for good measure:
If you wait too long while on the platform, the Taurus Demon will jump and land on the platform with you, forcing you to either fight on the platform, or jump off and run away. So I wouldn't recommend fire bombs.
Just roll off the platform the moment he jumps

I killed him in 2 tries, he’s not that hard honestly just uose a gold pine resen and he’ll die in 2 plunging attacks and 2 hits

Every time I try the plunging attack, my character refuses to pull it off, lands flat on their face and stands there like a moron while the demon smashes them. Then I run through all the hollows again and try to make the Taurus demon fall off the bridge. Then it knocks me off. If I'm lucky, it falls off too. Unfortunately, for some reason it respawns.

Same here. I tried the tip in the video, and got stuck on the stairs after doing the second plunge. I use the knight and he runs so slowly. I really hate this game

What I hated is the long segment you'd to play up to this point every time you die. Gave up. Just save the game before a boss-battle for me, Dark Souls!

listen, I'll tell you a secret: there's a pretty much unknown mod for the pc version that allows quick-saving. Of course in the disclaimer it is said that it is only for speed-runners who want different savefiles ( :) wink-wink). It is called Dark Saves

But I also read a forum where a bunch of Dark Souls nerds were abusing the thread-creator for asking for manual-saves. "The save system, instant deaths and grab-the-green-ball-or-lose-the-last-three-hours-of-your-life mechanics are what make this game addictive and above average." "Sounds like someone is tired of having to start over on the Taurus Demon fight... :P"
Though, I could agree to this idea, not everyone of us has that much time to waste. I mean, I could waste it playing the game, which is ultimately considered just a means of entertainment. But I can't stand the game telling me "Oops! You just lost all the progress you made over the last 3-5 hours." I've replayed as much as 8 hours of progress in games like Mass Effect to change a decision, or find a collectible. But I like to make that choice.
I guess I'll just give-up on Dark Souls again. It isn't the game for me. I don't like using mods, either...but From Software did such a terrible job of porting this game, that I'd to use them for almost everything. But that's a different topic. Thanks to LPDSHD, I got up to the big, black knight in the church, from the Taurus Demon from last time. I killed the Taurus Demon on my first attempt in this walkthrough, in fact.
I'll just suffice myself watching the rest of the expert walkthrough on here. I wonder how much time it took him to reach this level of finesse? He has definitely played every game in the Souls series multiple times. Have you finished this game yet?

When I tried this, the bloody taurus demon just jumped up onto the tower and killed me before I could jump off and attack him!
Farrell Matchett if you stay up there for too long he jumps up. You need to do it quick, right after you get up the ladder, run off and plunge him.

Really good video, it helped me defeate him with just a morning star. Wearing light armor really helped too with the running.

Yep agreed. Every time I tried that I'd get him down half way then get killed. The one time I almost had him, he goes and knocks me off the damn bridge
You can also use the gold resin powder things to give your weapon lightning damage or weapons that already have lightning or some shit, which does deal a bit extra to him.
This game is hardcore man, I lost count of how many times this bastard killed me before I cracked and looked up this video... So here's to a somewhat diluted victory, but a victory none the less! Cheers brother ;)

You can actually also use the tower as a larger space to fight him if you aren't having any luck with the plunging attacks. I only found it out on my 3rd run through.
I tried fighting it toe to toe at the top with a zweihander. You can kill it with 7 hits using the strong attack button. The demon actually staggers when its hit with that weapon so you always have the chance to land the next attack. Just be careful as it can jump back so its better to time your attacks. Attacking after it attacks or before it attacks should be the strategy.
Finally defeated him today after a million tries. I'm not crying....

The boss is honestly set up to be a cake walk but after every time I blunge attack he is impossible to move around ( hit boxes might have been tweaked in dsfix version) (I’m on console) he’ll do this raking/shoveling move and does half my health with that because I can’t go around. I haven’t quit yet because this boss should have not taken 10 times.

Thanks! As a beginner, I was having trouble with this one - until it mysteriously suicided. Somehow i was always trying to climb back immediately after my attack, and it almost never worked. going to the other direction first - eluded me, as a DS beginner, not knowing all the rules. I will say, this game, despite me liking it - uses really cheap tricks with bosses insta-killing you. That's a lame move. Lords of the Fallen, which i played until the very end - was much more sensible regarding the level bosses. You had to understand their patterns and all - but you most definitely had the opportunity, time and chance for such analysis. But somehow, even with cheap-shot bosses, and other bricks in the soup - while not as pretty VS Lords, - Dark Souls, - is still the better game.

gold pine resin + lunging plunge (2 hits). ULTRA DAMAGE!!! Also, I was playing as a sorcerer and he knocked me off of the bridge and then proceeded to follow me down. It gave me the "You Defeated" message so it might have worked. I don't know, never played as the sorcerer yet after that.
I purchased ds1 remastered version today and damn it's hard and so fun .

i wouldve just worked on it myself, my strat was less good only jumping off the first time but i had to search it up because of how far the campfire is so you have to go all the way back to him just to try again

The real boss is getting past those fucking fire bomb throwers while you have 5 enemies all attacking you at once
Any tips on how to do it with the controller better? Out of many attempts to jump from the tower with a plunging attack, the char maybe does it once, most of the times he just jumps and no matter how hard you push the run button and power attack button he doesnt do the plunging attack, as intended. I've died so many times here.
They definitely changed this in the remaster. He is now able to jump up on the tower where the ladder is and when you plunging attack on him it’ll bounce you off the edge

After coming back to this game I find that a good strategy that doesn't rely on rng and works 100% of the time is to get the uchigatana from killing the male undead merchant using gold pine resin when you get to the middle of the bridge after killing the archers, then getting the demon to chase you, then climbing the ladder to the tower and two hand jumping attack him, after you do this keep going ham on his ass with two handed r1 attacks which will stagger him so don't worry about his attacks or dodging and he will be dead easily.

Hi, every time, no matter how fast i run, as soon as i get to the top of the tower the demon jumps up too...and the one time i did get up there intime to jump on him the jump attack didnt work....can you tell me what it is again to do the jump attack on him please..you dont say what buttons to use in the video..thanks Tania xx
