Cappadocia, Turkiye
Cappadocia, a region in Turkiye, is best known for the hot air balloon flights that are scheduled for every day of the year. I ascended in one of more than a hundred balloons one day in the late fall. It was one of the best travel experiences that I've ever had. Take a look at this video and you will want to add the adventure to your own bucket list.
Cappadocia held other wonders too. A Jeep Safari took me through the volcanic landscape, where the elements over time have created some exceptional rock formations. I visited one of the hundreds of underground rock cities in the region. I also tried Testi Kebab, a dish that is more famous for its preparation than its taste.

The Best Neighborhoods of Istanbul

There is a tendency when people visit Istanbul to stay close to the main tourist sites. That can be understandable, as the city is so large that people don't know where else to go. Hopefully, this video can make a difference. It features what I found to be the best neighborhoods of Istanbul. There are 13 neighborhoods here. They are on both the European and Asian sides, including places to shop...
Istanbul's Island Retreat: Büyükada and the Princes' Islands
Просмотров 62821 день назад
Much of Istanbul, the largest city in Turkiye, is loud and crowded, as it is home to more than 16-million residents. There is one corner of the city, however, that is absolutely placid. The Princes' Islands consists of nine spots of land in the Marmara Sea. Büyükada is the largest of those and the one most set up to welcome visitors from the mainland. I spent a couple of days there recently and...
Most Traditional Turkish Food: What to Eat in Istanbul

As is the case when visiting any new country, trying the most traditional foods in Turkey is a big part of the cultural experience. While staying a month in Istanbul, I was able to sample many of the most unique dishes that are a part of the cuisine. There was everything from the familiar, such as Kebaps and Baklava. There were also the foods about which outsiders know very little, such as Koko...

Discovering the Amalfi Coast Towns of Maiori and Minori

Maiori and Minori, separated by only a kilometer or so, are near the center of Italy's famed Amalfi Coast. Key features of a visit include an ancient castle or fortification high on a hill, the longest beach of the Amalfi Coast and the vastly overlooked Path of the Lemons. This ...
Cetara Italy: Most Overlooked Amalfi Coast Town

Is it possible that there could be a town on Italy's Amalfi Coast that is undiscovered? If so, that town is Cetara. With just over 2000 residents, Cetara maintains its feel as a small fishing village, even while other nearby towns are overwhelmed by tourists. Join me for this unique look at the town, from the gorgeous coast, to its narrow streets, lined with local merchants. Choosing to visit C...
Why Salerno Italy Deserves Some Love

Amalfi and Ravello: Two of the Amalfi Coast's Best Destinations

I had watched quite a few videos about sights to see in Lima over the years and this is the first one that showed me that there is IN FACT a sandy beach in Lima. Every time I watched a video about the city my thought was always the only thing it needs is a sandy beach. The rock beaches are different, but a sand beach is kind of the standard for hanging out on a sunny summer day. Oh and your style as a presenter is I believe the best I have ever seen on RUclips. I mean you do your homework which is part of the appeal, but you have a very effective presentation. Did you retire from a career in broadcast journalism because your style reminds me of the guy on CBS Sunday Morning who does the in depth human interest stories. I mean you have a really effective way of presenting because that guy is a top notch television presenter.

Wow! Those are some wonderful comments from you! Thank you so much. I was fortunate to find that stretch of sandy beach. I don't know how many more are in the city. I did work in television for my career, but it was never at the level of CBS Sunday Morning.

Thanks for the video, capturing the essence of Asuncion. I was there two weeks ago [Dec 2024], just after Christmas for 4 nights, and visited all the places you mentioned in the video. I also spent one day on a private tour of the Golden Circuit, with a stop at the lovely Lake Ypacarai in San Bernadino. I stayed in the newer area of ASU, within safe walking distance to the two largest shopping malls; both were impressive and so modern. I had planned to go to Ciudad del Este, but, Paranair canceled my flights. By the way, I used a private guide for the city, as I did not feel comfortable doing it on my own for safety reasons. However, in hindsight, I probably could have done it on my own, during the day!

If your into occult illooninotti symbolism, the buildings and statues are filled with occultist symbols, they are everywhere you turn actually, you can feel the dark energy seeping out of them.Poverty levels are high, the population is gigantic so big city crime is rampant.Money is tight so gringos look like steak dinner, there are beautiful hearted people and incredible history,ATMs are hard for Americans to use,so bring enough cash to last without even using the ATMs,sow hidden pockets to stash.Dont venture too deep into the slums and dont travel at night too much.If you love researching the Looninaughti and their occult Masonic underlings the symbology is everywhere you turn,in the architecture, the street signs, the buildings, the corporations logos, the government logos and insignia, its a place i want to revisit just for that reason but you have to move smart and prepared for what your getting yourself into, its an oppressed people with a sinister shadow overwhelming and foreboding, the infrastructure is abysmal and the pollution is horrible, especially in traffic.

Personally, I don't feel qualified to talk about the cost of living. I only stayed there for a month. My videos aim to show what is in a place and give some insight into my experiences. If that encourages you to want more information, there are plenty of online resources that show much more than I could in a fifteen to twenty minute video. For instance, this is the first hit on a search for cost of living in Asunción: www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/Asuncion Thank you for watching.

Miraflores, Barranco, San Isidro, San Borja, San Miguel, Magdalena del Mar, Lince. Those are the safest places to stay in lima, and La punta in Callao is a beautiful bay also.

Thanks for adding to the conversation! I didn't get a chance to visit all of those other neighborhoods. I suppose I'll have to make a return trip to Lima!

I booked the tour through Get Your Guide. The provider of the tour was a company called, Escape From Lima. It was a wonderful experience!

I travel with a GoPro, but the difference was that I asked if I could shoot video.

@oldaloneandfarfromhome ahh. Got it. I don't typically ask, waiting to be chased down by security if they object

You're right, it's a shame there aren't posters in Spanish or English so you can know what you're watching, I hope they improve on that.
